#Baba Yaga The Omniscient Witch Hi all, I've had this champion concept in my head for a good bit of time. Basically, the idea is to make a champion that is the grandmother of Annie . I wanted her to be a mage and to be a classic witch archetype. So, I found the name Baba Yaga in a book, and Baba Yaga is a in/famous Russian/Eastern European witch. When trying to come up with her kit I wanted to embody the idea of a witch that places a curse on you and always knows where you are (think the wizard of oz witch). And I really envisioned her as being a mage jungler. So the kit is as follows:]


##LORE In the birth of the world, a tribe of a race called humans emerged. From where, no one remembers. Born out the first generation of this tribe were many children including a girl named Baba Yaga. Humans were still humans back then. They had disputes like humans do today, and like humans today, they were inhumane. A war broke out between families, groups scattered across Runeterra, some sailing across the seas. Baba Yaga remained in her original birthplace with members who had won the right to stay there. Unfortunately for Baba, her parents were killed in the conflict, and she lived alone, harvesting her own crops, taking care of business by herself. Now in this old world, there was a separation of magic and man. Deep inside the earth of Runeterra, there lay hidden a great magical power. It was almost as if some force had put it there for the humans to open when they were ready, to give the world life. One day, Baba went down to the river to get water for her crops. Next to the river was a cave. As she was walking back to her hut, she felt something call to her; something strange yet familiar. Entering into the cave, she walked further and further. She walked and walked, for what felt like centuries, her body became old, but she did not die. As she fell from exhaustion, this object pulsating with energy lay before her. The object gave off a warm heat; it was the thing calling to her, but it was sealed, and its voice was muffled. Baba knew what it wanted her to do. She unsealed the object, and felt a burst of energy rush past her. The energy poured out of the cave and across Runterra, changing the world for better and for worse. The world became alive that day, and there was no longer a boundary between magic and man, between the mortal world and the afterlife. Doors were opened, the hinges ripped off from the strength of the rush of energy. Baba came out of that cave the way she came in, and not a second had past.

She returned to her house, everything looked the same, but she felt that life was different. Every night since then, she would see a tall pale men with long dark hair outside her window. She looked in horror at first, then in wonder. She began to approach the figure in the darkness, but he would always retreat. Year went by, in time the figure would begin to retreat slower and slower. Eventually he stayed, but kept his distance from Baba who was a young woman at this point.

He never spoke to her, but one day, he showed her to the trunk of a huge tree. This trunk had a crack in it big enough for even the biggest man to enter. The man placed his hand on it and it began to glow. The man entered into this trunk with Baba behind. Inside she realized she had entered into a completely different world. Glowing beings, spirits of her kind, monsters, and other fearsome beasts. All were her. Baba felt that same power flow through her as before. At that moment, she could see everything. The energy that enveloped her world became her eyes and ears. Deep inside her, she could feel this power growing, she could feel her power growing, yet she understood none of it.

Those of her original village were all gone. Baba was alone for many years. They she came up with a great idea. There were many fearsome beasts and spirits roaming the jungle were she lived, and she could easily invite them over to stay. If they refuse, force was always an option she had no problems choosing. Soon she had a family of beasts and spirits at her beck and call. They weren't slaves necessarily, but they became her family. To Baba, protecting her family was what she now lived for.

Years turned to centuries, centuries to millennia, and so on. Baba understood her role in the world. She was the key, the key between her world and theirs. She was meant to oversee all, to maintain the balance of the two worlds that must coexist in harmony in order to thrive. As kingdoms rose and fell, Baba saw all. She saw the monotonous cycle of man: build, thrive, kill, thrive, suffer, build, and so on and so on. Generally she was feared. She was known for cursing all those who crossed her path. Not that it mattered to Baba. She always knew the truth about everyone. Who the were, where they were going, what they are thinking, and were they would go to. People stayed away from Baba, and her mystery to the outside world grew.

While beasts and spirits were good company, but Baba longed for the interactions of her early days. One day, she grabbed a lump of clay and breathed life into it. From she formed a baby girl who she named Amoline (future mother of Annie ). Like many children who grow up, Amoline left home. Baba didn't mind because even though they were physically apart, Baba would always be there.

Relationships Annie Baba loves her granddaughter the most in this world. She takes pride in Annie Kindred Baba also considers Kindred children of hers, taken them in when they first came into existence. She knew where they came from and who they were. She told the way to stop him and still seeks to end his reign Ryze She is aware of ryze and will allow him to do his work as long as he doesn't get in her way Amumu she pities him and hopes to one day find a cure, until then she will just watch him

Targonians, Zaunites, Piltovans, Ascended, Shadow isles champions: Baba does not like these groups or any other 'gods'.

Yorick Kalista She pities them and wishes for their freedom

Lissandra Is aware of her, and is keeping a special eye on her

Void creatures: she seeks there extermination

Yordles: She thinks they are the most adorable creatures ever to exist

Vastaya: She wishes to make them into her family, by force if necessary

  • Attack Range: 575

##ABILITIES ##[Passive] -- Beast Tamer When near a jungle or epic monster with 10% health, Baba will incapacitate the monster, channel for 2.5/2/1.2 seconds. After the channel, Baba will hop onto the biggest monster in a camp or an epic monster (Except Rift Herald). The monster acts as her current health bar. Hopping on the monster changes all your abilities based on the monster. Abilities for non epic monsters can be used 5 times for each ability. For Epic Monsters, each ability can be used 4 times and the ultimate can be used 1 time. Stats for the monsters will depend on balancing. Killing an epic monster still give the team the buff (Drake, Baron).

Every time you tame: Blue Sentinel Gain 20 mana permanently. Red Brambleback Gain 2 bonus AD permanently. Wolves Gain 1% AS permanently. Gromp Gain 20 HP permanently. Raptors Gain 2 Armor permanently. Krugs Gain 2 MR permanently.

*** Ocean Drake*** 2 Bonus Mana/Health Regen permanently. *** Cloud Drake*** 1% base movement speed permanently. Infernal Drake 5 magic penetration permanently. Mountain Drake 2 CDR Elder Drake 10 Critical Strike Chance permanently.

Baron 20 AP permanently.

Cooldown: [250/150/50]

At levels 1/6/13


##[Q] -- Curse Point and click onto a target that is within 650 units of Baba. Target is marked with a curse. A target cannot see that they are marked. Upon reactivation, the target is revealed and is pushed in a random direction, taking 50(40%AP). The mark lasts in 5 minute intervals. After reactivation, the curse mark goes away in 6 seconds Cost: 50-80 | Cooldown: [7/6/5/5/4]

Blue Sentinel: Smash Smashes on the ground slowing all targets. Red Brambleback: Swipes Swipes in a cone, critically striking targets hit. Wolves: Ferocity Gain 20% AS, 20% Crit and 15% lifesteal. Gromp: Poison Skin Gain a shield, basic attacks on you poison the target. Raptors: Charge Charges and impales a target. Krugs: Headbutt Empowers next basic attack.

All Drakes share the same Q: Blast. This fires a artillery shot that: *** Ocean Drake*** Deals damage and reduces the mana regeneration of enemies for 5 seconds and health regeneration for 1.5 seconds. *** Cloud Drake*** Deals damage and decreases movement speed by 75% for 1 second. Infernal Drake Deals a lot of damage and burns the enemy for 1.5 seconds. Burned enemies take 1.5 more damage from all sources. Mountain Drake Deals damage, and after 1 second, the grounds creates a terrain where the shot was fired Elder Drake Explodes launching two extra artillery shots around it.

Baron Has a Viktor E skillshot, and spits in the target area dealing damage and slowing by 20% for 1 second.


##[W] -- Grasp of the Underworld [ Launches a skill shot that splits off into two branches in the shape of a 'Y'. Hands pop out of the ground starting from the casted position and move along the 'Y' then back towards the casted position. Enemies hit the first time are slowed by 45% and take 60(50%AP) as magic damage. On the return, enemies hit are rooted and take 70(55%AP) as magic damage. Cost: 40-75| Cooldown: [9/8.5/7/7/5]

Summon: Summons the following that attack and defend targeted enemies: Blue Sentinel Those monsters that used to be with Blue. Red Brambleback Those monsters that used to be with red. Wolves 2 Mini wolves. Gromp 2 more Gromps. Raptors 5 mini raptors Krugs 2 Medium Krugs Cannot summon more until all summoned monsters have died. The ability goes on cooldown after the monsters have died. Reactivating the ability always you to control the monsters. Enemy killing the minions only gives 2 gold.

All Drakes have the W ability Blowback. Fires a cone that *** Ocean Drake*** Deals damage based on enemy mana regen. *** Cloud Drake*** Deals damage based on enemy movement speed Infernal Drake Deals damage based on enemy AD Mountain Drake Deals damage bsed on enemy CDR Elder Drake Deals True Damage.

Baron Lauches spikes, damaging targets


##[E] -- Blazing Eye Places a ward with 3 charges (ward charges does not count with other ward items like trinket and sightstone) Additional wards such as, trinket, sightstone wards, and control wards gain the same effect as this ability. When an enemy gets too close to the ward, the ward fires a bolt dealing 40(20%AP) as magic damage and ignites the target. The ward then self destructs, stunning the target.

***Cost:***40-90 | Cooldown: [11/9/7/6/4]

All abilities are Dismount, Baba Dismounts the monster with bonus effects Blue Sentinel All allies and Baba gain blue buff. Allies buff decays 5% faster. Red Brambleback All allies and Baba gain red buff. Allies buff decays 5% faster. Wolves All allies temporarily gain +10% AS. Gromp All allies temporarily gain a shield Raptors All ally spells and basic attacks crit for 3 seconds Krugs All allies have summoner spell cooldown reduced by 20 seconds.

*** Ocean Drake*** Restores health and mana to allies *** Cloud Drake*** Grants allies a temporary burst of MS. Infernal Drake All allies temporarily gain 20 AD/20AP. Mountain Drake All allies temporarily gain bonus armor/magic penetration Elder Drake Reactivates elder buff.

Baron Gives all allies Baron buff, and permanently empowers all minions around with the buff.


##[Ultimate] -- Three Horsemen Picks one of three horsemen selected like (Twisted fate W), after selecting a horseman, recast to activate.

White Horseman The Horseman Dashes to a cursed target (global) (cannot cast or disappears if no cursed target). Upon reaching the target, it stuns them and deals 70(20%AP). The horseman passes through all terrain and enemies hit are knocked aside and take 70(50%AP)+2% Bonus Health.

Red Horseman Horseman travels along a skill shot. Enemies hit along take 200(80%AP) in magic damage. The horseman leaves a fire trail behind dealing 20(20%AP) in magic damage for 5 seconds, and enemies caught in the fire trail are slowed by 50% for .5 seconds. At the end of the skill shot, the Horseman explodes dealing 200(50%AP) as physical damage .

Black Horseman Sends a horseman along the skill shot damaging enemies hit with 90(50%AP) in magic damge, leaving a poison trail dealing 10(40%AP) magic damage, slowing by 70% for 1.5 seconds and applying grievous wounds. All enemies in the poison trail are effected by the nearsighted debuff.

Cost: 100| Cooldown: [120/100/50]

Blue Sentinel Fires a short range beam of energy. Red Brambleback Fires three shots that burn the ground when the land. Wolves Can jump over the terrain (low cooldown,). Gromp Gains reduced damage from turrets. Raptors Gains bonus damage to turrets. KrugsTransport you a short distance away.

Drakes gain the ability fly over terrain, the first enemy the collide with will deal damage and: *** Ocean Drake*** Create an AoE Knock up *** Cloud Drake*** Create an AoE Stun. Infernal Drake Burn all targets Mountain Drake Slow enemies hit Elder Drake Create an arena terrain

Baron Charge in a given direction, twisting and turning across the map, popping in and out of void portals, damaging enemies hit, and executing structures below 20%HP


Format of the concept

Discussion:

Q: The purpose of Q is to be able to track the opposing jungler and to play into the idea that a witch can place a curse on you. Not sure of how the damage should be carried out though. My first thought was to just treat it like a swain e, but maybe it could also be recast to push (like syndra e) or pull the target no matter where the target is. It would give the target a good scare and definitely seem like they are being stalked by a witch. Also, curse is supposed to last for a good bit of time.

W: The inspiration behind this is the undead monster hand boss from Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (dead hand). It also builds on the idea of a witch having contact with the other side/demons. Gives CC and damage.

E: Again this is the idea that a witch can see where your are, and Baba is supposed to be about seeing and tracking the enemy. I want it to do damage, not sure what is should do though. Initially I wanted it to fire a laser like how the old nexus turrets attacked, but that is just like Swain's Q, and I already made her Q like Swain's E, so I didn't want it to be so similar.

R: So the inspiration behind the R is what I found looking into the mythical Baba Yaga. Basically, she has control of three horsemen that are Red, White, and Black (just google Baba Yaga, you;ll find out about it). The actual effects really have nothing to do with the horseman. I just wanted to include that somehow and I had no idea what I could make her ult without it being a Tibbers.

Big thanks to The Djinn for making this format So my post is readable. Probably should add numbers to the passive abiliites, just put up the general effect. Things could change with it. I want her to be balanced on her own, and don't want the monsters to make her unstoppable.
