Anniversary Skins

League celebrates so many occasions, it's hard to number them. Some of the more known ones, such as Christmas and Halloween are recurring events in League, where the player has the option to purchase special skins.

One thing League has always celebrated, specific to itself however, is the annual ranked seasons. Players are awarded skins, ward skins, all sorts of things for participating in ranked queues and gaining notoriety. Now, normally you guys at Riot give us something new each season. This is great, but what for players who are new to the community. For every season they've missed, that's a whole line of content that they will NEVER have access to. I understand commemoration, and the thought of achievement for players who have spent time and effort for particular skins and such, but the newer players, they weren't even given the opportunity (not to mention, that's money you guys are losing out on). So what exactly is it that I'm asking for?

You guys at Riot are constantly gaining new players. League is expanding to new places, and the pure amount of clients that you gain each year, is just incredible. With each new player, a chance for you guys to profit.

You probably know at this point what this about, and your response would probably be along the lines of: "We already stated these skins would not come back, and will not be available at any other time." or "We are constantly releasing new content, the ranked rewards however, are a commemoration for players who give more than the average casual."

I'm not saying, give these skins out freely, or, keep them in the shops year round... nor do I expect you guys to pay any mind to this without some sort of good, solid plan that will keep everyone happy.

My idea is this: After each ranked season, the new content will still be given to players who participate in ranked. The older content will also become available in the shop (aka Championship skins, wards, etc), but ONLY to players who participated in the season. Think after a ballgame, people can buy souvenirs and such. So what about satisfying players who want to commemorate the season, or feel that they have something special that nobody else has access to. I have a couple things to point out about this. First off, they can still commemorate the season, I highly doubt players will mind so long as they know that others had to pay to get their hands on older stuff (players are even doing this nowadays, just through some... questionable means). Secondly, when a ranked team wins the season, the champions they won with get special skins specific to their team. THESE SKINS ARE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC. Third and finally, you guys at Riot are just losing out on money. Would you rather players go behind your back, buying and selling accounts with said skins, or have the players pay you directly. Then, not only are they no longer breaking the rules, but everyone is happy... and in the end, you guys come out on top.

I'm not asking you guys to instantly say: "Yep, this is great! Let's do it!" But I'd love if you guys put some thought into this. Remember, you're still rewarding players who participate in a season, they'll just have to wait till the next season (and save up a bit) if they miss, or decide not to play in a season. Don't forget, some people skip seasons to reset their ranking.

If you'd like to further award players, maybe give them a summoner icon or badge that they can still be identified as a Gold or Plat from whatever season, without pulling content off the shelves. Keep in mind, you guys did offer Championship Thresh to the public.
