Shen's Ki Blade

I hope to keep this short and to the point, I'm also on the fashionably late side in terms of offering feedback, but I still think it needs to be said (and if there is a thread for Shen feedback, a link would be much appreciated). Let me first start by saying this isn't a major change, and mostly effects him out of combat. If it has already been brought up or is too late for any changes to be made, oh well. I like the Shen update. That in mind, something has been bothering me pretty much since it was first revealed. The blade doesn't actually follow Shen. It's lazy. It sits back until he moves out of range, then it awkwardly teleports closer to him. It looks bad, it feels quirky, and it makes the blade feel less and less that it's actually bound to him, attached to him, but rather that it just reluctantly carries out his orders. This isn't a very noticeable thing. During combat, there is little to none of it due to the nature of his kit. The only time you really notice it is when Shen is roaming or after he backs and is headed back to lane. Then the problems arise. If it did follow him, it would pretty much entirely change his kit. I'm sure you guys took that into account and I'm sure it's a lot of the reason why it does not follow him. I'm not asking that his kit be entirely changed to revolve around the blade following him, but having it follow him would not require that many changes in order to work. In my honest opinion it would tie his kit even further together if a solution was found that still allowed him to manipulate the blade, but have the blade at his side while he's out of combat.

EDIT: As an idea that came to mind, perhaps that his Q is on a double casting system, the first cast leaving the blade where he's standing, and the second cast pulling it to him and doing what it normally does. Easy fix, no other gameplay changes needed. Done and done.

I don't agree that's the whole point of his kit is to catch people within range of his blade by lining up shots with your blade. It's not suppose to follow you. It actually gives his kit uniqueness.

One of the things I think needs reworked is his W though. It just isn't powerful enough for support shen. It doesn't last long enough and the fact that it only protects from auto attacks is really bad considering it has to be in placement of the blade meaning most of the time it will only shield 1 auto attack from the adc unless you use it with your ult and teleport on top of someone getting melee'd. It just doesn't have enough use in a game where almost everyone is using skillshots. Tbh I rather see it be a slight damage reduction for all damage than only block all auto attacks.
