Fiddlesticks Direction

Based on the most recent update, I would assume it's probably too late to explore other options, but here's some thoughts:

It was discussed that Fiddlesticks could potentially meet the criteria to be a demon. His name, more than likely something that was made up by a child. Then it went on to discuss how his origins would be unknown. Nay I say!

Unknown origins are boring and don't allow us to sympathize or connect to the champion. Sure, it's neat, but we've already got it in tons of other forms. So here's my pitch:

Farming accident. A man (father probably) is in the barn when a sickle falls and kills him. A scarecrow is built over his grave. The sickle that killed him is placed at the feet of the scarecrow. Every day, a child visits the grave to pay respects. The child names the scarecrow, you guessed it, Fiddlesticks. What the child doesn't know is that the spirit of the man is yet alive, inside the scarecrow. Well, as happens with life, the child grows up and stops visiting the grave. The scarecrow is alone. Ages pass. The scarecrow sees people come and go, living their lives. Over time he becomes envious. Why should he be stuck guarding his own grave when others get to enjoy life? Boom. Demon is born. You guys can do the rest.

That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. The proper demons (Evelynn, Tahm Kench, Nocturne) are primordial. An animated scarecrow would belong in a different category.

stop cherry picking data. [EDITED BY MODERATION - ULANOPO]

"Evelynn was not always a skilled huntress. She began eons ago, as something primordial, shapeless, and barely sentient. This nascent wisp of shadow existed, numb and unroused by any stimulation, for centuries. It might have remained so, had the world not been upended by conflict. The Rune Wars, as they would come to be known, brought an era of mass suffering the world had never known."

see, barely even sentient. just like all other magic in runeterra (magic is considered a living thing)

"The sensation nourished the creature, and over time, it transformed into something more. It became a demon, a ravenous spiritual parasite that fed on the basest of human emotions."

see, evelynn became a demon during the rune wars. personally, my head canon is that demons are just fully sentient, powerful forms of pure magic.

The shadow isles existed BEFORE the rune wars. therefore Yorick is older, having lived when it was the blessed isles

Tahm Kench in universe is considered an ancient being who has symbols of him in Bilgewater. and evelynn and Tahm have voicelines for each other, that's where the equal view of each other comes from.

but people like the mysterious origin. It allows them to make their own conclusions and allow all kinds of players to bond with the character due to having their own opinion on them.

besides, this story you made just seems like the Shaco being a doll story. and why would this one kid make the scarecrow a demon? I doubt he'd be the first to stop coming back

I too dislike mysterious origins. However, in the case of something that is meant to be terrifying, having unknown origins probably works better. Most humans are at least a little frightened of unknown.

I'm not a big fan of unknown origins either, especially since it'd likely leave him without a connection to anyone. However horror creatures tend to start out mysterious and their backstory is only revealed throughout the story and I feel like Fiddle should be the same.

So he should start out as a mysterious being and only later on should we get to know his background(though there should be some hints to his true nature before that)
