[Passive Rework Concept] Viktor, the Machine Harold

Passive - Heart of the Machine: Viktor starts the game with a Prototype Hexcore in his Trinket slot. Buying a Trinket will augment the Hexcore to gain the effect of the chosen Trinket. Viktor can also spend gold to upgrade the Prototype Hexcore, gaining an Evolution point and bonus ability power with each upgrade to the Hexcore. The Hexcore can be upgraded 3 times. The Hexcore can be upgraded an additional time if Viktor kills an enemy Skarner.

  • Glorious Evolution: Whenever Viktor spends an Evolution Point, he can target an allied minion, or an allied champion with his next basic attack. If Viktor has Smite as a summoner spell, Smite will temporarily be replaced by Submit after spending an Evolution point. Targeting an allied champion will Augment them with adaptive force while they are near Viktor. If an allied Augmented champion dies near Viktor they will become a pet to Viktor, until they respawn. Targeting minions will Augment them and turn them into permanent pets to Viktor, they gain adaptive force and will resurrect after several seconds when they are killed, or instantly at the fountain. Casting Submit on a non-epic jungle monster will cause them to become Augmented, causing them to become a temporary pet to Viktor when they are killed by Viktor. Rekilling an already Augmented jungle camp will resummon the pet. If Viktor has a pet, Smite can be recasted to control them directly.

Q - Unchanged

  • Glorious Evolution: Viktor's pets gain bonus attack range with their next basic attack after Viktor casts his Augmented Siphon Power.

W - Unchanged

  • Glorious Evolution: Viktor's pets leap to targets stunned by Augmented Gravity Field.

E - Unchanged

  • Glorious Evolution: Viktor's fires additional Death Rays from his pets, at the target location which deal 50% damage, after Viktor casts his Augmented Death Ray.

R - Unchanged

  • Glorious Evolution: Viktor's pets's basic attacks deal bonus magic damage which bounces to 5 targets.

I like the idea to change his hextech core into a trinket instead of an item in an item slot, since this allows him to get an additional item. Viktor is supposed to be a late game champion and this would allow him insane scaling.

But I disagree with the idea to give him pets. Viktor shouldn't be a champion with a pet mechanic. You try to make him a mage version of Yorick here....

Hi summoner !

When i clicked on your post, I was wondering how you could change Viktor's passive without modifying the whole champion by adding a new mechanic. The answer is: you actually did modify him, and a lot ! So my first advice would be to change your title, since you're changing the whole champion by changing passive ^^

So when I understood you were basically changing everything on the champion, I first didn't like the idea. But I forced myself to read your post, because it could still be interesting. And I was right to do so, cuz your ideas are insanely good !

First thing i really enjoyed: swapping the Hextech Core into a "trinket" position. I really dislike the actual passive, since you are basically forced to build your Hextech Core on Viktor (which therefore is going against alternative builds). The fact you are putting it on your trinket slot makes it better, to my point of view. Just a small question, why do you hate Skarner so much so that your naughty Viktor gets more power by killing a nice gem-ish big scorpion ? What did this nice arthropod do to you :(

I really like the idea of getting a pet when you upgrade your Hextech Core, I agree when you say it is in Viktor's lore. But on the other hand, you will probably force people to rush for their upgraded Hextech Core, sonce it'll give you ap and a new pet each time you up it. I'd have prefered some other idea of creating pets (when allied minions die, they could momentarily turn into cyborg-minions, with really high damamges but easy to kill, it could give you a huge split-push, but might look like Yorick). And I am definitely a big fan of your idea of "submitting" jungle camps (so keeping the idea of the modification of your smite, but maybe like this: when your upgrade your Hextech Core, your Smite is changed to Submit. Submit acts exactly like a Smite, but when the camp dies, instead of disappearing it follows you as a pet. It'd give you the opportunity to change your pets: early you'd maybe prefer raptors with you, but when the game is 40 linutes long you'd probably prefer another camp, since every champion with a small AoE can one shot all your raptors).

About your evolutions, I like Q and E, but W looks like Yorick's E but It's slower. And R is making me believe you want Volibear in your team ^^
