#[The Future of C&C] Part 1 - Meet the Archivists!

Hello, Concepts & Creations!

We’re the Archivists.

What’s an Archivist? Good question! An Archivist is a Riot-approved community volunteer who functions as a cross between a moderator and a spokesperson for the creative community. It’s our goal to make sure Concepts & Creations isn’t full of unacceptable behavior and inappropriate topics, but it’s also our goal to work on fostering discussion, expanding community reach, and generally making this board the best place -- and the best resource -- that it can possibly be.

In upcoming Future of C&C posts we’ll be discussing some of our ideas to improve the creative experience here on the boards (and gathering your ideas and thoughts to make sure we’re looking in the right directions!), but for now we’re just going to introduce ourselves so you get some idea of who these people you’re seeing around are.

In no particular order, here we go!

#THE DJINN Hi! I’m The Djinn. A long-time amateur game designer and writer with several years of moderator experience on multiple sites and servers, I’ve been an on-again/off-again board presence on Concepts & Creations. I’m glad to be back as part of the Archivist team, and looking forward to working on improving the creative experience on the boards. Although my expertise is mostly in writing and content design, I’m alway happy to hop in to offer me thoughts and support for creative content of any kind. Feel free to hit me up if you’re looking for an in-depth critique or analysis of any sort of work or, of course, if there are any board issues that need to be addressed!

#ECHOING ##(ECHOING...) ###(ECHOING...) A Season 1 veteran of the Win Nao days before Xin Zhao was balanced, I’ve hung around Concepts and Creations in some incarnation before taking control of the Champion Concept Open Stage (CCOS), which is still going every month (Sign up now!). I’m always looking for improvement in the community as a whole, and I wish to help however I can. I’m also always in a constant state of terror - take that, Fiddlesticks.

#CAPTAIN MARVELOUS Familiar with the old boards? Then you might remember me! Once-famous for my Dungeons and Demacians series and a writer with countless fan fics (Go check out GHoZ, I’m rewriting it soon!), I’m on the job to help with getting the writing flourishing on the boards. Whether it be a champion concept’s lore, fan fiction or just general musing about why Vi is so much better than Jinx in every single category ever? You can always count on me!

Feel free to ask us any questions you want or share any board concerns you might have in the comments below! We’re looking forward to getting to know all of you a bit better, and figuring out what your ideal vision of Concepts & Creations is.

Riot chose 3 of the best people from the forms to do this. I say this because I've gotten reviews from both The Djinn and Echoing before, not sure if I've been reviewed by Captain Marvelous or not.

Congrats to you three! I expect great things. Glad to know that y'all get a cool, unique title, too.

Does this mean we can start putting fan lore in this sub? I was under the impression Riot frowned upon posting stuff like that.

also as a (slightly more) serious question, how do you plan to handle the anti-ADC sentiment in C&C because that seems to be a thing a lot

Oh! Super happy to see this actually being a thing now! Hopefully there being a team of people that actively take part in this community means that more people will come flocking with more awesome concepts c: Of course we can't expect the concepts to ever make their way into the game, but it's still exciting nonetheless.

Anyways, onto an actual question that I have, which you may or may not know the answer to: Will there at any point actually be stated what kind of topics are supposed to go in which boards or will it stay as is, C&C staying an amalgam of different boards, fx. including streaming and highlight videos?

Hey Dijinn and Captain Marvelous! I'll take you up on your offers. Since both of you said your lore lovers, could you check out my entry for the CCOS? https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/p0vuXBN9-champion-concept-amoline-the-shadow-witch If you just focused on the Lore aspect it'd be a huge help, but if you want to comment on game stats, I'd love that too!!!
