Gangplank - Moderate Changes

I love Gangplank's rework, it is one of my favorite reworks that Riot Games has ever done, but there are some parts of his kit that I would like to change, mainly his laning phase.


Q - Parrrley:

  • Mana cost changed to 60 mana at all ranks from 60/55/50/45/40
  • NEW: Refund 25% of Parrrley's mana cost when it kills a unit, or when it detonates a barrel. Note: Gangplank's laning phase mostly consists of him poking his laning opponent, I would like more dueling during his laning phase instead.

W - Remove Scurvy:

  • NEW: Added a small bonus AD scaling
  • NEW: Gangplank heals for the amount over 2.5 seconds instead of instantly (CC Removal remains instant). Note: Now additionally scales with bonus AD , but heals over time instead of instantly.

E - Powder Keg:

  • NEW: You can now trigger Conqueror when attacking barrels. Note: This would enable a Bruiser type play-style for Gangplank.
  • Delay between casts lowered to 0.125 from 0.25.

GOAL: These changes should help Gangplank when dueling during laning phase to compensate for the Q poke nerf. I also hope that these changes would make Gangplank more consistent in general.


R - Cannon Barrage:

  • Damage changed to physical from magical. Note: To make his R scale with Lethality, but it gets countered by armor for compensation.

R - Upgrades:

  • Raise Morale:
    • NEW: Raise Morale now also grants a shield to Gangplank and his allies within Cannon Barrage's radius that scales with Gangplank's bonus health. Note: Raise Morale has been a very mediocre R upgrade compared to Death's Daughter and Fire at Will, so Raise Morale is now changed into a great defensive dueling and team fighting upgrade, that scales with bonus health.
