New Mastery System (Combines Lv 1-5 and Lv 6-7)

Just going to get to the point here:

People are upset with the new mastery levels requiring S ranks. There are multiple things flawed with requiring S rank:

  1. Unclear how exactly to get S rank. People can do extremely well and don't get S-.
  2. People who play more popular champions will have a more difficult time getting S.
  3. Players refusing to help in teamfights for fear of dying and losing S rank. Minor issue.

I am proposing a new mastery system that gives points for different ranks. You need a certain amount of points to get to the next level:

Points: D-/D/D+: 10 points C-: 20 points C: 30 points C+: 40 points B-: 60 points B: 90 points B+: 120 points A-: 200 points A: 250 points A+: 300 points S-: 500 points S: 600 points S+: 750 points

Using this points system rewards higher ranks heavily, however players can still get to higher levels without getting them. It also removes the need to reduce points gained on losses, giving players who still did well full rewards.

Levels (Points are cumulative): Level 2: 250 points Level 3: 800 points (+550) Level 4: 2200 points (+1400) Level 5: 4100 points (+1900) Level 6: 8100 points (+4000) Level 7: 15100 points (+7000)

These may be too steep. Let me know in the comments. I basically went by how many A- games you needed to get to the rank. Overall, you need about 76 A- games. This is assuming you get more B and C ranks at low levels and as you master the champion you start to get S ranks.

+1 this or -1 it. Please bump this.

Thank you!

I like this idea overall. I also like the idea of making someone lose points either over time or through really bad games. Say I go 2/20/5, should I really be rewarded at all for absolutely feeding and barely even having any kill participation? I think taking away points would be good because it says to the player that you have some learning to do in order to "master" this champion. Then maybe max rank could give you some kind of immunity to this or something idk.

That would be a good idea, however it would have to take a lot to lose ranks.

I was thinking like -1 point per game with a massively negative kda (like -10) and -1 per month of not playing that champ, it wouldn't really do anything, but it would show that you don't get rewarded for either sucking or not playing the champion.
