Lore

Among the quaint avenues of Bandle City's old town, two yordles found love. A girl with her pet hummingbird selling flowers at the foot of the old clock tower, a boy looking to buy some flowers for his camouflage suit. He wanted to join the military and see the world. As they laughed and argued over which shade of wildflower would go best with his eyes, she knew it was love at first sight.

After his acceptance into the military, the pair spent every minute of his time off together at Kaalia's flower stall or frolicking in the green fields around Bandle City, enjoying the summer sun. His drill instructor warned her that inside that happy and lively yordle beat the cold heart of a merciless killer, but she was deaf to his words: she had met her true love and noone was going to convince her otherwise.

Then one day he showed up unexpectedly at her flower stall bearing bad news. Bandle City's spies had sent warning that Noxus was planning an invasion of Bandle City's offshore oil rigs, and as their most skilled sniper, it was up to him to defend Bandle City's interests on the Fields of Justice. She duly waited at the airfield on the day of his departure, but he did not return her gaze as he climbed into the gyrocopter, staring coldly into the distance, carrying bags of explosives and his trusty poison tipped blowdarts, a deadly weapon in the hands of an expert marksman.

As the days grew colder and shorter, she sent him letter after tearful letter, but never once received a reply. Concerned for his life, she snuck into the army base and confronted his commanding officer, who showed her the front page of a Noxian newspaper: Noxus Humiliated by Bandle City Pentakill. Reassured, she regularly visited the base again, devouring headlines as the Noxian dominance on the Fields of Justice was being methodically dismantled.

Finally his commanding officer admitted to Kaalia that his actions was not part of his mission profile and he had taken it upon himself to put an end to the Noxian threat once and for all. He confided her that Teemo had always been a killer at heart, not a lover, and there were thousands of yordles who would love her more than he ever could. Refusing to believe him, she waited day after day at the foot of the snow-covered clock tower, but her boyfriend never returned to the old town.

But she was not going to let go that easily. She sold her stall and made her way to the Rift carrying only a basket of flowers and her hummingbird, where she infiltrated a League battle. Before the judges could stop the match, she dug a tunnel underneath the barrier and beelined for the northern tower, where she pounced on an unsuspecting Teemo and floored him with a big hug. Although officials immediately separated them and dragged her out of the arena, she swore he had been trying to hug her back.

Since that day she snuck past the barrier several times, bribed the soldiers guarding the Institute dungeons with a bouquet of rare wildflowers and a kiss, shoved pollinating flowers under the nose of another guard, distracted the barrier mages with her hummingbird, emerged from a maintenance hatch in a tower and regularly manages to trick a Summoner into summoning her instead of his chosen champion, on one memorable occasion going as far as to purchase a machete and head into the jungle yelling his name. She never once made it to Teemo again before being dragged back off the field or out of the Institute complex by security, but she swore she will not relent until she sees him again...

Model

Kaalia is a cute yordle girl with adorable eyes, large feet and white hair adorned with a crown of flowers. She wears a frilly green skirt and carries a flowerpot and a bucket of ripe fruit which she throws at enemies.

Skins

  • Cuddle Bear Kaalia: A red Care Bear costume with heart-shaped flower emblem.
  • Warchild Kaalia: A serious business skin featuring military dress, grenades, and her ultimate places claymore mines. Profits go to charity.

Abilities

[Passive] Spiky Fruit Kaalia's auto attacks cause opponents to bleed, dealing damage equal to a percentage of Kaalia's auto attack damage. Its damage scales with the number of bleed stacks already affecting the target.

Upon reaching maximum bleed stacks, the unit is blinded for a short time.

  • Bleed: Physical damage: 10% (+5% for each bleed stack on the target) of total AD over 2.5 seconds (can crit)
  • Bleed: Duration: 2.5 seconds (resets on each hit)
  • Bleed: Max stacks: 8
  • Blinds for 1.4/1.7/2.0 seconds upon reaching maximum stacks

[Q] Wildflowers Skillshot Kaalia flings a flowerpot with all her strength. It hits the first enemy unit in its path and shatters, showering the target with thorny flowers that stick to the target for a short time, dealing damage over time and applying bleed stacks. While Wildflowers is active, the [Q] button is replaced with Achoo!.

  • Range: 900
  • Speed: 1400
  • Applies 2 bleed stacks
  • Physical damage: 30/50/70/90/110 (+1.2 bonus AD) over 4 seconds
  • Cooldown: 8 seconds
  • Mana cost: 60/70/80/90/100

Achoo! No target The flowers emit a whiff of pollen, causing the target affected by Wildflowers to sneeze and get knocked airborne. This removes the flowers from the target, ending the damage over time. Airborne duration depends on time passed since Wildflowers hit the target.

  • Cast range: Unlimited
  • Knockup: 0.4 seconds (+25% of Wildflowers duration passed)
  • Mana cost: 20

[W] Merribloom Target enemy unit Kaalia sends her bright yellow hummingbird Merribloom to attack a target enemy unit. It pecks the target, dealing damage and applying bleed stacks, then circles the target for a short time. While Merribloom is active, the [W] button is replaced with Pollinate.

  • Cast range: 550
  • Speed: 900
  • Physical damage: 60/90/120/150/180 (+1.0 bonus AD)
  • Applies 2 bleed stacks
  • Circle duration: 2.5 seconds
  • Cooldown: 12 seconds
  • Mana cost: 70/80/90/100/110

Pollinate Target enemy unit Kaalia chooses another enemy unit near the previous target and whistles to Merribloom to fly over to the new target, dealing damage based on the number of bleed stacks on the previous target. If the new target has fewer bleed stacks than the previous target, it applies enough bleed stacks to match those on the previous target. It then circles the new target.

This can be repeated as many times as the short cooldown on Pollinate allows, but cannot hit the same target again.

  • Cast range: 450 around previous target
  • Transit speed: 900
  • Physical damage: 20/30/40/50/60 (+0.35 bonus AD) (+50% per bleed stack on the previous target)
  • Applies enough bleed stacks to match the number of bleed stacks on the previous target
  • Extends remaining duration of Merribloom by 0.2 seconds (duration does not tick down while the hummingbird is in transit)
  • Cooldown: 0.6 seconds
  • Mana cost: 15

[E] Frolic Passive Kaalia accumulates stacks as she moves and applies bleed stacks. Upon reaching maximum stacks, she performs a small hop, gaining a brief speed boost. If properly timed, this allows her to dodge skillshots easily. The hop is not forced movement and she can stop moving or even attack in midair. During the hop and for 1.5 seconds afterwards, the [E] button is replaced with I Can Fly!.

  • Gains 1 stack per 3 units travelled and 25 stacks per bleed stack applied to an enemy
  • At 100 stacks, perform a hop
  • Hop: Duration: 0.4 seconds
  • Hop: Movement speed: +30/35/40/45/50%

I Can Fly! Ground Kaalia flaps her arms like a child acting like a birdie, leaping a short distance to a target point, replenishing some Frolic stacks.

  • Leap distance: 350
  • Leap speed: 1600
  • Frolic stacks replenished: 20/25/30/35/40
  • Cooldown: 16/14/12/10/8 seconds
  • Mana cost: 20

[R] The Bees! Ground Kaalia plants a brightly coloured flower into the ground. The flower gains invisibility when placed, unless at least one enemy champion without bleed stacks is within a certain radius of the placement location and has vision of it, in which case the flower remains visible until this is no longer the case.

The flower is not armed until it turns invisible. When armed, a swarm of bees buzzes around the flower. When an enemy unit then steps on the flower, it is crushed (destroyed) and the enemy is chased by angry bees, receives bleed stacks and is feared directly away from the flower. The flower can be destroyed by auto attacking it.

  • Flower: Placement range: 275
  • Flower: Stealth block range: 550
  • Flower: Stealth delay: 0.75 seconds
  • Flower: Trigger range: 65
  • Flower: Duration: 90 seconds
  • Flower: Health: 3 auto attacks
  • Bee swarm: Physical damage: 100/150/200 (+0.8 bonus AD)
  • Bee swarm: Fear duration: 0.8/1.0/1.2 seconds
  • Bee swarm: Applies 4 bleed stacks*
  • Cooldown: 35/30/25 seconds
  • Mana cost: 100

Strategy

Laning Maxing Wildflowers, landing one and whacking the right mouse button until the passive bleed picks up the kill is an easy way to get first blood, but can be countered by standing behind minions. This can be punished by maxing Merribloom instead, casting it on a nearby minion and repeatedly redirecting it to nearby minions until it reaches the enemy champions. If she maxes Wildflowers, she can all-in at level 6 with I Can Fly! into a point blank Wildflowers, followed by The Bees! directly behind the opponent while triggering the sneeze. When they land, the bees go off instantly, fearing them away from their towe while Kaalia piles on the dps.

Teamfights This is where Kaalia falls off. Her single target dps is high at this point due to her passive stacks, but it does not match the sheer attack speed and dps of other carries. Instead, she relies on her disables - a knockup, fear and a lengthy blind - to prevent the enemy from fighting back while she kills them.

Weaknesses Her main weakness is that she is squishy for having such a low range, while her harrassment potential consists of a skillshot and a lane pushing spell with limited damage. Also, past level 6 she has to choose between using flowers as wards or keeping them off cooldown to defend herself against all-ins; unlike Teemo she does not have ammo so placing flowers puts the ability on cooldown for a fairly long period of time.

In teamfights, she can incapacitate any single enemy trying to dive her but goes down to focus fire from multiple attackers. She can do her knockup/fear combo on one opponent, but Frolic is defeated by any gap closer or even a basic slow and I Can Fly! is short ranged as far as mobility goes.

A flower girl in Lol? Really?......

JK :P It's a pretty cool idea :) Anyway I felt like your concept deserved a little bit of love and decided to give it a review. Anyway here are my thoughts on Kaalia, The Yordle Flower Girl!

Role?: I wasn't certain about this but is Kaalia supposed to be an ADC? You mentioned that her E can crit so that's why I'm leaning toward ADC and this review will be about Kaalia as an ADC. If you are going for an ADC just what idea were you going for? All ADCs have a certain niche that they fill, Quin is roaming, Trist is siege, Draven is snowball, etc. How does Kaalia fit into this? Because she kind of seems like a really safe ADC with a lot of CC but very poor damage.

Lore: Cute I'll say that. Though I'm not sure if Teemo is the type of character to find and love a girlfriend. I mean we have Tristana who is childhood friends with Teemo, also aren't Rumble and Teemo fighting over Tristana who just friendzones both of them?

Passive: Ok I guess helps with damage but doesn't really tie in with the rest of the kit and she still does mediocre damage at best.

W: Blinds are really frustrating to play around and I'm not sure about a point and click AOE blind:/. Yes Teemo has one but there's a reason he's considered Satan. I think it would be cool to make a skill shot or at least give the initial blind some more counterplay. it isn't exactly fun to try and trade with her only to get blinded because she clicked on you.

E: I think it would be better if you made it so the player could control when they're going to jump, it's an interesting ability but it's kind of hard to use the jump properly. Also you could pretty much combine the two abilities into one.

R: She really is Teemo's girlfriend....... Overall I feel like the ability might be fairly toxic. Well actually is there a cap on how many shrooms she can have or a timer on them? If not she can just spam an area with shrooms and if your team is defending that area like by a turret it's near impossible to push. And well no one like Teemo's shrooms, they're very annoying to deal with does league need more?

Overall Gameplay: Look you have four cool abilities but how do they tie together? You have four separate abilities that don't interact to create a cohesive kit, they don't synergize. Let me try to explain this better; look at a champion like Ekko, all his abilities are capable of working together so he can pull off some pretty cool tricks. His Q slows which give him time to set up his W and his E, R let him get into his W to proc it, his Q gives him two stack of his passive so he can E to proc the final one, etc. Ekko's kit comes together to create a well rounded champion. Can you say Kaalia does this?

Anyway these were my initial thoguhts on Kaalia, the flower Yordle! Do you mind if I ask you for a favor? I recently made some big changes to my own concept and would love some quick feedback on them. Thanks! ^_^

Lemme just say that the Lore is pretty silly, like AD Veigar silly, but it serves it's purpose even if Riot retconed the whole institute of war thing. Starting off on the general theme of things I was honestly thinking she would be some sort of mage given the whole flower motif but reading on I found her kit kinda interesting. The passive seems like a sort of pre-nerf Draven bleed passive with a cap which could work out pretty nicely if a bit simply. The Q I find could also go that it has a trade off with its damage vs its CC. Like you reward the player with more CC if you cast Achoo right away to make them choose between damage or the CC. All that said it seems to be a rather powerful spell given its cooldown. W: This one I like a fair bit. In theme it reminds me of Lulu's Pix help! ability with a bit of Malzihar's malefic visions. I might be reading it wrong but I'm not sure if the damage is a DoT or if it hits all at the beginning. Her E on the other hand is a bit more confusing. On the surface it looks like a charged Kalista hop but with a dash build into the active, not sure how this actually works tbh. And finally her ultimate; Now to be brutally honest, to me this just seems to be a Shaco Jack-in-the-box trap trying to be a Teemo shroom. Maybe if were to trigger a sort of AoE DoT around it when triggered it could actually be a bit more intimidating or some thing but that's just my suggestion. I don't really know a lot about how it would work in-game, but I suggest you give it a look and maybe mix it up a bit. Good Luck With Everything!

A flower girl that wants to make everyone bleed? Teemo marry this women already!

Anyway here's my second review of Kaalia, The Yordle Flower Girl! Kind of short casue I covered my major points in the last review.

Passive: i think it's cool that she now has a reason besides damage to get to max stacks, though it might be a bit too long if can't land her Q as eight AAs is a lot:/ Also not entirely sure how healthy a blind is but you do you. Hurricane would be hilarious on her, all those AOE blinds.

W: i really do like how she is further encouraged to max out her stacks on someone and she can make everyone avoid that character so good job on that I think.

R: If you really want to go with the mine system you might as well give it an ammo system so she can deploy more than one at a time and she can hold on to charges rather than placing a mine every time it comes off cooldown.

Overall: I do think you did a good job tidying up the kit, I still feel it could use some work. You bring it together via blind but there's still a lack of synergy between abilities, they work with the passive but they are for the most part independent. But I think you did a good enough job to receive a decent score from the judges as long as it's not Auriyel o The Dijin. Sorry this review was really short, I covered what I wanted to say in the last one so there isn't much to comment on, sorry:/

Major update!

  • Passive: This is now what applies the blind, and only after reaching max stacks.
  • Q: Now also applies bleed stacks, but deals less damage.
  • W: No longer applies a blind, but now carries bleed stacks from one target to another.
  • E: Increased hop frequency, but no longer grants AoE immunity and reduced speed bonus.
  • R: Now also applies bleed stacks; clarified how proximity prevents the flower from going invisible and arming itself.
