Riot seriously confuses me when it comes to choosing a theme/champion for a skin

I recall a Rioter saying that when there's a skin line coming out, they choose certain champions that would fit well with that kind of theme. For example, the star guardian galaxy skin line where MF, lulu, Soraka, Lux, Ezreal, Syndra, and Ahri were chosen for it. Yet Syndra didn't fit the theme at all but we're not talking about that.

Where the hell does J4 fit in a dark star skin line theme at all? He looks awkward and out of place. That dark star skin could've been used for on Velkoz Xerath

and im not saying J4 doesn't deserve a skin, I'm just saying this theme wasn't fit for him. All the resources could've been used on a different champion that would have fit perfectly with.

Also, WHO THE HELL ASKED FOR A DARK STAR J4 ANYWAYS?

J4 fits the theme in that he has no heavy particle skins at all and needed one (not to mention hasn't received a skin at all since 2014, and that one was an e-sports skin).

From what I can tell, he's the token good teammate who's resisting the darkstar's influence. He's basically cosmic horror story Kassadin. And Syndra is implied to be the guardian who turned her back on first star to be more powerful, which is how she fits.

To be fair, I think that skin would be a bit redundant for Aurelion Sol.
