Champion: Tyson, the Prizefighter

Overview:

Tyson is a fighter who emerged victorious from the no-rules prizefighting ring in Bilgewater called the Pit. He uses his fists to attack his fellow champions just like he had to do in the Pit. (Recommend "Champion" by Clement Marfo and The Frontline for the login screen after initial champion drop)

Lore:

“I never had many choices. I could either live life as a laborer, a pirate, or a fighter.

I never knew the warm embrace of parental love. My mother died in childbirth and my father abandoned me. The truth is, I'm glad for it. It made me strong.”

After spending years as a beggar and cheap laborer on the streets of Bilgewater, Tyson was old enough, and big enough, to compete in the anything-goes, underground prizefighting Pit. Wealthy pirates and travelers who want to see brutality at its finest pay big money betting on the matches, and at first didn't go for Tyson. That changed when he knocked the Pit champion off his feet and flat on his back. The title of Champion is nothing new to Tyson, he's held it for the past 10 years. To retain his title and position, he had to fight any challenger put forward every time the Pit was opened. Fighting battle after battle with the best fighters in Bilgewater has made Tyson tough as nails and given him a pop in his punch that lets him knock out man after man the second they step in the Pit.

The city-state of Bilgewater, wanting to increase their chances in the League, recruited Tyson after hearing of his fight with a cocky Graves, who pulled a gun during the fight. Tyson knocked Graves out cold before he could get a shot off. When he was asked to fight for Bilgewater, he responded by asking, "What'll I get payed?"

After hearing of Tyson's induction into the League, Lee Sin confronted him and told him that he was not worthy because he took the honor out of unarmed combat by fighting dirty and for money. Tyson told him that he was just jealous of his wealth and to get ready for a beatdown.

Base Stats: Health - 425 Mana - (N/A) AD - 53 AS - 0.694 AR - 18 MR - 30 MS - 340 AP - 0

Abilities:

(Tyson does not require mana/energy/fury to use moves (abilities))

Passive – Knock-Out Blow: Tyson's basic attacks have a 2+(Champion Level)% chance to be a critical strike.

Q – Fast Fists: Tyson's fists become a flurry of punches and his attack speed is increased for a period of time.

Bonus Attack Speed: +40/55/70/85/100%

Attack Speed boost duration: 1.5/1.75/2.0/2.25/2.5 seconds.

Cooldown: 12 seconds

W - Fighting Stance: (Toggle) Tyson goes into a fighting stance that reduces his movement speed, but increases his Attack Damage and gives him a chance to block an Enemy Champions basic attack.

Attack Damage: +5/10/20/50/100

Block Chance: 5/10/15/20/25%

Movement speed reduction: -50/50/45/45/40%

Cooldown: 2/2/2/2/2 seconds.

E – Get Back Here: Tyson dashes after target champion and grabs their collar. He then throws the champion over his head and dealing damage. (Very much like Volibear's Rolling Thunder except that it is immediate and deals damage, but it has to be used on a champion within range.)

Cooldown: 16/14/12/10/8 seconds.

Spell range: 600 units.

R (Ultimate) – Explosive Fist: Tyson dashes forward at target champion, dealing heavy damage and knocking them extremely far back. Deals damage to target champion and all enemy minions, enemy champions, enemy turrets, and monsters that collide on champion's path. If Target Champion collides with a turret, but does not destroy it, Target Champion stops being knocked back. Any monster, enemy minion, or enemy champion hit by Target Champion is stunned for 1 second.

Initial damage: 250/350/450

Damage to Target Champion and minion/monster for collision: 50/75/100

Damage to Target Champion and Champion for collision: 100/150/200

Damage to Target Champion and turret for collision: 200/300/400

Knock Back: 4000/4500/5000 units.

Cooldown: 180/150/120 seconds

Spell Range: 500 units.

Quotes:

In champion select: "I am the Greatest!"

Movement: "Here I go." "Don't look away." "I've never stopped before and I don't plan to now." "I've fought hundreds and never failed once." "At least I'm getting paid." "These guys don't scare me." "Rags to Riches." "For my adoring fans."

Attacking: "I am the Greatest!" "I won't lose!" "Knock-Out Blow, coming up!" "Get ready!" "Eat my fists!"

Jokes: "Who needs honor when you've got money?" "Get ready to feel the ground on your back."

Taunt: Tyson bounces from foot to foot while punching his fists together. "You don't look so tough." "You need weapons to fight? Not me."

(This is a revision/update of a previous champion concept that was flawed in the past named Ali. I changed the name so that it didn't conflict with Alistar, altered one of his abilities so that his play style more greatly differentiated from Lee Sin, and built a rivalry between Tyson and Lee Sin into the lore.)

  • Concept of an underground fighter from Bilgewater
  • "Fighting Stance" is promising, but too strong in that state

Dislikes

  • Extremely OP (needs a lot of tuning)
  • Missing something that makes him unique (essentially has copies of Lee Sin and Volibear abilities)
  • Name
