Passive - The Living Blight: Varus's basic attacks deal bonus magic damage and apply Blight for several seconds, stacking up to 5 times. Landing abilities on enemy units with 5 stacks of Blight consumes the stacks, dealing magic damage as they pop and applying additional effects.

Q - Piercing Arrow - First Cast: Varus channels for up to 4 seconds, increasing Piercing Arrow's range and damage over the next 2 seconds. Varus can still move while channeling, but cannot use basic attacks or abilities and is slowed by 20%. At the end of the channel, Piercing Arrow is automatically cancelled, refunding half of its mana cost.

  • Second Cast: Varus fires, dealing physical damage to all enemies in the arrow's path. Blight stacks on an enemy champions hit reduces Piercing Arrow's cooldown by a few seconds. Enemies struck who had 5 stacks of Blight will consume the stacks and cause additional arrows to burst from them, dealing reduced physical damage to all enemies around them, and if any of those damaged enemies had 5 stacks, they will also cause arrows to burst from them.

W - Chains of Corruption: Varus fires a tendril from his bow in a target direction, latching onto the first enemy champion, or epic monster hit. Varus becomes tethered to that unit, breaking if they move too far from Varus. While chained, they will continue to gain stacks of Blight. Once they get, or if they already had, 5 stacks of Blight, they will consume the stacks and be dealt magic damage and tendrils will explode from them, tethering onto all near by enemy champions. If any of the champions gain, or already had 5 stacks, they will consume the stacks and deal magic damage to all tethered enemies, and tendrils will then again explode, tethering onto any untethered near by enemy champions.

E - Hail of Disease: Varus fires a hail of arrows that deals physical damage to all enemies in the target area and desecrates the ground for a few seconds, slowing all enemies standing in it and applying stacks of Blight over time as they stand in it. Enemies with 5 stacks in the desecrated ground will consume the stacks and begin to bleed, being dealt true damage over time and applying Grievous Wounds for several seconds.

R - Complete Infestation: Varus will be overcome by the bow, transforming into a Darkin for several seconds, gaining bonus attack speed for the duration. While a Darkin, Blight will deal magic damage over time to all units with Blight, per stack, and whenever 5 stacks of Blight are consumed, the Darkin is healed.

IIIIIIIIIII LIKE IT! only one change would be make his q only pass through minions and stop at the first champion hit, similar to jhin's w. that way it'll scatter if properly set up but fall short if not. also how would the spread work, would it be targeted to all champions/units in the area or would it be a scatter shot that can be blocked?

Honestly, this sounds more like the kit of a midlaner. From having to stack his blight five times (which is honestly kinda slow, twitch gets away with it from being a dot, rather than something that he has to get 5 stacks of, twitch also gets an abiltitt that he can put soemthingnon the ground to increase his stacks, as well as increasing how many people have to anyone in range. Its not something he has to proc something else on to be effective.

The blight is already a bit negligible in teamfights, varus is already reliant on runaans, this would make him even more so, while having the awkward kit of a mage. Why does the passive do magic damage? Stat being said, I do prefer his W being his passive. The q spread also sounds a bit awkward, I guess I'd have to see it.

I don't think i like the ult being moved to his W, it's very strong as a basic ability, I like his ult, but I think it could do with a bit lower of a cool down. It can be deviating in teamfights if used right. If moved to a basic ability, it would need to be extremely nerfed. Moreover I don't like that varus gets tethered. Being an immobile adc, having a karma tether would be far too dangerous for him.

His E is fine, it's honestly one of the stronger things about him. It allows him to out trade a fair amount of adcs, if you place it right in a team fight, other high life steal based champions like Warwick, Xin, Irelia, etc, may not notice their life stealing is reduced until too late.

The ult being something to proc, that gives him a burst of attack speed and such, does sound good. But I think I would do that for his new W.

I think varus is in a good, healthy spot. Blight being his passive and giving him another W is the only change I'd make to him. But... perhaps I'm a bit biased. I already lost one of my main adcs, I don't want to lose another. (Rip Quinn, you were a hidden goddess)

Nice ideas, I also created a post where I wrote my Varus rework ideas. Comparing the two mine is a bit un-simplistic which is something I like about yours, the other thing is that this kit still feels like the theme that Varus presents something that maybe I need to work better on mine.
