New Teemo-Inspired Concept
I always thought that Teemo's thematic concept was far more interesting than his actual kit. He's supposed to be a scrappy survivalist that relies on stealth and running through bushes, "bugging out" at the best time for a kill. He kinda does this, but it feels clunky, dry, and not super fun.
Anyway, thinking of this I had been imagining a champ design for months inspired by what I think Teemo falls short in delivering. I think these ideas would make for a fun Teemo rework but idc about scrapping champs to make new champs (I really liked old Poppy and Shen).
This champ would be a squishy, short ranged marksman with few sources of damage but many sources of support. He would be good at kiting foes and outplaying them for advantages, but not for a sustained amount of time.
Passive - Forage: This champ collects all sorts of odd things as he/she sleuths and slogs thru the jungle or as he/she kills minions and champs in lane. Over time, he uses collected components to enhance his/her spells. Think of Bard but collecting lots of things, more frequently. I like the idea of playing little mini games with champs like Bard and his chimes and Thresh with his souls and I think this would be fun and interesting.
(For conceptualizing lets imagine that these objects are 1) Dewhickys 2) Gewgaws, and 3) Gimcracks - just stupid names for little things)
When casting a spell, he/she may cycle between basic or modified versions of the spell (similar to
and his cards). Casting modified spells consumes items he/she has foraged.
Q - Firecracker: (Champ) fires a flare in a line, damaging the first target it hits.
- X Gimcracks: Firecracker deals increased damage, and damages enemies in a small cone behind its target.
- X Gewgaws: Firecracker deals AOE damage on impact, shortening the sight of enemies hit (not by a lot. Not like Quinn). Upon casting, (Champ) is pushed backward a short distance (like
escape).
W - hextech camo-plate: (Champ) throws up a small wall, greatly reducing damage from the first object to hit it and disallowing projectiles to pass it. It's damage reduction is greatly reduced afterward. (Champ) is immobile while casting this. Think
wall but less for protecting a whole team for a whole fight, and more for a clutch, one-off block.
- X Dewhickys: The wall makes (champ) and team mates immediately behind it invisible to enemies facing the wall. Enemies who pass the wall will see everyone behind it. (Could be super op. I want this to be a fast outplay tactic, so maybe it should only work on (champ))
- X Gewgaws: The wall is slightly bigger and (champ) can place the wall, where it will stay, blocking projectiles hitting it. Similar to
wind wall, except this wall has an HP meter and blows up after taking moderate damage.
E - Plasteel beacon: (Champ) plants a ward-like device with a smaller range than a standard ward, visible to enemies, and dying after a set time or being hit.
- X Gimcracks: device becomes invisible and snares the first enemy to step on it.
- X Dewhickys: Device is loaded with a panacea which will heal any champion that steps on it for moderate hp and a little mana.
R - Empty Pockets Survival Trick: (Champ) plants a large trap or piece of terrain, costing a great amount of resources.
- X Gimcracks/Dewhickys/Gewgaws: (Champ) places a bush down a bush. This bush would look just like an ordinary bush you'd find on the rift. This would be permanent and would serve just as much for psych warfare as for actual tactical advantages.
- X Gimcracks/Dewhickys/Gewgaws: (Champ) plants an invisible bough, and then selects an area at which to tie it down as a spring trap. Enemy champions who step on the spring trap are thrown up into the air in the direction of where the bough was planted. Upon landing, enemy champions take damage and are stunned. If they land on other enemy champions, those champions take damage. (Imagine some wile e coyote kind of trap where you tie a palm tree to the ground? Yeah this is that.) The trap disappears after activation.
- X Gimcracks/Dewhickys/Gewgaws: (Champ) places a large, impassible wall down as a piece of temporary terrain with an HP meter. Enemy projectiles and other attacks cannot pass it, but will damage it, eventually breaking it. Allied champion projectiles may pass thru it, although it is impassable for them to walk thru.
OK I feel like that was a lot to write and I understand immediate issue with this concept, notably that this concept doesn't involve any dashes or delayed damage (which riot loves). Also, the champ has a lot of spells with utility, which reminds me of the
problems of the past. This concept has a lot less damage built into it. The utility offered here is very different than Lulu has, so I cant really say if it looks too OP.
