Windy evening of spring, sun is about to set, but have found yourself lost in the woods, with no help on the way. You try to search for a way out, try to follow animal tracts, but you feel even more lost. It is getting dark, air is filling with moisture as temperature is slowly dropping. Animals of the night are about to move, hunt for their pray. You know that you need a shelter, hide away from cold weather and night hunters. But you are in the middle of the woods, hopelessly lost, with no tools to defend yourself or to get back to civilization. You walk and walk, seemingly pointlessly, as desperation is filling your mind. Thoughts about danger and deaths is slowly filling your mind, but you haven't given up just yet. As all hope was nearly lost and only light you had was that of the moon, you found an old mansion, hidden in the forest. You knocked three times, shouted and asked if anybody is inside. You tried to open the door and doors opened. Darkness black as a coal was waiting inside, but you walked in. You had no other place to go. You wandered in darkness for quite some time, occasionally stepping on something crisp. Finally, you managed to find your way into big room with a fire places and windows. You searched around the fireplace, found matches and light up the fireplace. Room is slowly getting filled with light and warmth, but you don't feel safe just yet. Is this mansion abandoned? You try to get some sleep, even for a bit. You lay your head on the wooden floor, close your eyes, but something is not right. As your ear touched the flood, you started hearing footsteps in the distance. They were coming closer and closer. At first, you heard footstep of a single person, but as they get closer, it looked like like a dozen of people were just nearby, walking towards you. You get up, wait to greet the inhabitants of this mansion and apologize for barging in. Something knocks on the doors of the room and you address whoever is on the other side of the door. You say that you are terribly sorry to barge in like this, but you had no other place to go. Yet, your words are met with silence, not a single word came out from other side of the door. Another knock. Little bit hesitant, you repeat your words, with apologizing again for intrusion. Another knock. You think to yourself that maybe owner of this mansion is deaf or mute, so you decide to come closer and open the door. As you was walking closer to the door, another knocked echoed thought this room. You come to the door, slowly put your hand on the handle and opened the door. Darkness was on the other side of door. Nothing was waiting outside of the room. You felt a little bit nervous, closed the door and decided to go back to sleep, but another knock echoed behind your back. Without thinking you opened doors once again. Nothingness again. You whispered to yourself that this mansion may be haunted, as you closed the door and rushed back to the fireplace. Not like before, you don't feel sleepy any more. You feet threatened, as knock on the door is repeated every few minutes. Wind is getting stronger, howling through empty walls of the mansion, creating many different sounds with each being more disturbing than previous one. Your only comfort if the fire, giving you warmth and light. If only you knew where you are. If only you knew on what have you stepped in the darkness. We will never let you escape, your bones will forever be left in this mansion as your soul will join us in the eternal suffering and torment. Enjoy your fire, enjoy your light. These are the last moments of your life. We are souls of those who have been trapped here and we welcome you into our ranks. Don't even bother on trying to escape, we are everywhere. -- Masters of Horror.

Type: melee Role: executioner (like assassinating tank, but not an assassin; don't know in which sub class it should fit into)

#KIT

Passive Trapped For Eternity When you kill an enemy champion, you will swallow his/her soul. Each soul swallowed are stored separately and you keep count of each time you swallowed a soul of an enemy champion in the right-bottom corner of the screen (like Kindred's passive). Maximum number of times you can swallow a souls of enemy champion is 10. In addition, for every time you swallowed souls of an enemy champion, you will take 1.5% less damage from that enemy champion and will deal 3% more damage to him/her (damage from items, masteries and buffs are't amplified).

Q Ecto Prison Target an area and carve a mark into it for up to 20 sec. After 0.5 sec, it will arm itself and become invisible. When enemy champions walk over this mark, mark will trigger, rooting that enemy champion in place for 1.5 sec. Rooted (stunned) enemy champion will take 30/40/50/60/70 (+30% of AP) magic damage every 0.5 sec. In addition, if you are nearby when one of your marks triggers, you will gain 20/25/30/35/40 bonus armor and magic resist for 5 sec. This effects stacks up to 2 times. Max numbers of marks on the map: 2. This mark can't be attacked by enemy champions, but if it get revealed by True Sight, then i will vanish.

Casting time: 0.25 sec Casting range: 400 Radius of the mark: 100 (nearly as big as two Teemo's mushrooms) Max range to be in to gain defenses: 500 Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14 sec Mana cost: 60/65/70/75/80

In addition, tether the furthest enemy champion hit, pulling him/her to yourself (after short delay) and knocking all enemies between you two to the sides. If you pull an enemy champion into your Ecto Prison, that enemy will get stunned instead of getting rooted.

Stand back, I'm a certified hater!

If you're playing the drinking game, take four shots for "In addition", leaving out the instance on the W because it actually makes sense there. In addition (heh), take a shot every time regonas posts a champion concept totally obsoleted in theme by other champions. In this case, we have a Master of Horrors trying to compete with Fiddlesticks, Nocturne, Shaco, and Team Shadow Isles.

Reminder: I'm blacklisted. He can't see my posts. This is for the benefit of everyone else viewing this champion wondering what's wrong with it, and to show that if he would stop being silly and listen, there's a chance to improve. Regonas is kind enough to make all these mistakes for you guys, and it'd be a waste not to explain why they're mistakes so we as a forum can improve and make better champions.

Let's start with the passive. It sounds like it'd be pretty cool, right? Kindred-style gathering of souls? The main issue here is that it's strictly a snowball passive - it only works if this champion can get kills, only works against the people he's already killed, and only works SPECIFICALLY on kills. His stated design goal was a tank. A tank that gets kills. You'll notice the problem now, I'm sure. In short - this only comes online after he kills someone, and requires a simply ludicrous amount of kills in relation to his stated design goal as a tank to show any appreciable power.

You might argue "But isn't Kindred's passive the same thing?" Superficially, yes - it increments on kills. However, Kindred has to mark the specific target in advance (giving warning), can score on a kill or assist (meaning teamwork is encouraged), is geared toward dealing damage (meaning Kindred can actually act on this goal), and can hunt jungle monsters to a certain point (smoothing out lagging Kindreds). These carefully-designed mechanics were put in place to help avoid the problems I've outlined.

The Q's main sin before anything else is having a 14 second cooldown at max level and being a literal trap. Why? Riot's stated a design goal is to make the Q on a champion their signature ability, so to speak, and to make it a safe thing to max first if you have no idea what you're doing. Take a look at Master Yi's Alpha Strike, Irelia's Bladesurge, Graves' End of the Line, Xerath's Arcanopulse, and Rengar's Savagery. You use those more than anything else they have, and you define them in no small part by that ability. As a result, Q abilities tend to have low cooldowns so you can use them frequently, with a straightforward use pattern. This isn't always true (Rocket Grab, Dredge Line), but the vast majority of champions follow this pattern.

Right off the bat, Haunted's Q violates this principle. It has an extraordinary cooldown, and is a trap - meaning it's worthless for conventional use. What's worse, it has an arbitrary limit of 2 traps. When you get past that, the damage and ratios, as per classic regonas, are completely out of balance. The base damage starts off high (90 over 1.5 seconds), then falls off, but the AP ratio, at 30% per 0.5 seconds, means it totals up to 90% over 1.5 seconds. Reminder: 90% ratios are usually found on ultimates. This is a trap. A totally hidden trap, at that, because why not? I mean, it's not like Nidalee's and Caitlyn's traps are completely visible to the enemy, right?

Oh. Wait.

As a final nail in the coffin, the trap instantly dies if revealed by true sight. If you pressed regonas on it, he might claim it's counterplay. He's about halfway there, but what that really does is make it super easy to invalidate a core ability on this champion. It means these traps die instantly if there's a pink ward in the area, or if someone decides to use their sweeper lens.

I won't even get into the complete mechanical disconnect of an alleged tank having traps. I'll leave that as an exercise to the reader.

Moving on to the W! This is clearly the best ability on this champion. By which I mean it's the only one that makes any sense. Rare praise for me, so I better explain - it's a shield, which tanks love, but it also provides damage, which provides threat. Tanks need to provide threat. A tank that doesn't demand your attention in a fight is not a tank. The damage here specifically does so by scaling off missing HP, which means it ramps up its own damage and threat as the fight goes on and it wears you down, which means you want to destroy it immediately, which is all according to keikaku.

It's still not great. Since it's only doing damage based on missing health, this is totally useless at the start of the fight, which is when you want to shield up. The damage is only really noticeable if you max this first AND if the enemy's below 50%. At this point, you could have picked a better tank, like Malphite, to do more damage while still being intimidating.

The E is literally Rocket Grab on steroids. In fact, you'll notice that this is a running theme with regonas' works - instead of inventing truly new abilities, he'll oftentimes take other champions' abilities, toss them together, and maybe add more stuff or strip away things. You can still see the base skill deep down. It works alright as a pull, but has a totally unnecessary missing health scaling on top of a 60% ratio. Also, you're pulling an enemy next to you, when you don't have anything to threaten them with at melee range. Blitzcrank will uppercut-ult you if he lands a pull, while being next to Nautilus results in getting locked down for the next 3 seconds. Amumu avoids this by throwing himself at you so he can ult everyone. Haunted...can maybe pull you onto the trap he totally obviously just set up? Besides that it's a waste of power, it's also never going to happen outside of Wood V or getting outside help. Beyond that, Haunted has nothing to threaten you with at melee range. If anything, he just made your job easier.

So let's look at the ult. Like the Q, the ult is supposed to be a signature ability of sorts. Something memorable, unique only to this champion, demonstrating their best skills. Looking at it, I see a gradual move speed build up, a charge that does damage at a point after a delay, and a fear.

In short, he made Hecarim's ult, but worse. A perfect 5/7 there. Can't even charge through walls, what kind of cruddy discount ult is this?

Let me call attention to the ratios there, too. The super large AP ratio is somewhat passable, but the extra damage based on missing health quickly gets out of hand. Against a target with 50% health, you have added 250 damage at all levels. Notably, this outdamages EVERYONE'S ults at level 6. On a tank.

But that doesn't matter quite so much as the fact that it's got a split goal here. You either use this to start a fight (which it sucks at, the delayed fear is NOT what you want in an initiate tool) or to execute someone (why). These are both perfectly good goals, but they shouldn't be on the same skill. When's the best time to use this? Start of the fight? End of the fight? What happens when you wait too long? Without a clear use case here, you're doomed never to achieve its full power.

Also seriously, use Hecarim for this instead. He can charge over a wall, fear everyone, then shove one unlucky winner into your team for easy pickings. All Haunted can do is flail at someone with crummy autoattacks since he's an AP champion that gets no real benefit from Nashor's Tooth.

Keen eyes will notice the huge AP ratios on this champion, as if you were supposed to build Haunted as a mage. Does it work? Not really - going full AP means you are trying to enter melee range with a dinky shield to protect you. Azir gets a shield on his E, but that's more a participation prize for his impending death than an actual survival tool. You might burst hard, but it's not going to be hard to burst you down in return, and your crap range and especially doofy Q won't help there.

The predominance of missing health ratios also merits notice. It's something mechanically thematic, which I can appreciate, but on a tank, it's worthless. Your main goal is to get in their face while they're at full health, not while they're almost dead. You send a real assassin for that. That means that if you're doing your goal as a tank as you logically should, your missing health damage is a total waste. If you're trying to exploit those ratios, what the hell, you're the tank, why are you not tanking/playing a real tank?

As a tank, Haunted fails. As a mage, Haunted fails. Use Hecarim if you want the awesome ult initiate, or Fiddlesticks if you want a scary mage that rips up squishy targets. There's no reason you'd want to pick Haunted.

Hey, I've been following some of your concepts and also the whole arguments with Regonas and others and so far, both sides really frustrate me, but for different reasons. I want to give my view of the issue but first, to review the concept.

Also, plz I am not a hater, I will be as diplomatic, constructive and analytical as I can.

First off, his lore. Now from it, I can't really get a sense of his character, physical appearance or motive? It's cool and all, and manages to convey his theme of terrorizing and haunting fairly well, but I'm just not sure I can see his character well enough.

Now, his passive. Thematically, it's a bit too similar to Thresh and Kindred (something Riot doesn't really like to do), but design wise I think it's pretty well constructed as a tank passive. However, since tanks operate of the front lines to initiate, they get a lot of assists. They can get kills but their role is to leave that generally to their teammates. Thus, I'd consider maybe removing the damage bonus he gets from the stacks, and also giving him the ability to gain souls from assists. Otherwise, a pretty alright passive that I could see working on a character maybe with a few tweaks.

I tend not to look too much at numbers (unless they are clear as day hideously overpowered like a 500 base damage basic skill with 90% AP ratio), and tend to focus on the core design. So since none of your numbers (as I can see), are hideously overpowered, I'm just going to focus on core design.

Now for his Q. Before talking about this ability, I want to address a key factor in concept creation.

Synergy.

On their own, your abilities could seem pretty good. We have a stacking damage reduction passive, a Q that is a invisible trap that roots, a W that shields and provides a DoT aura, an E that pulls in the furthest enemy struck, and an ult that gives him speed, a dash, curse and damage. They seem pretty alright, except for that when combined onto a champion such as this, one you say is a tank especially, they don't really work. I can see some combos happening, but most would be either forced (E>W>Q trap), situational, or just have already been used before (W>E shield into hook = nautilus). It's important to remember that synergy and flow is a very important aspect when creating champion. For example, Blitzcrank. He has clear synergy in his kit, and as a tank. He gains a shield, which scales off mana, seeing as he has a high mana usage, and he excels in the frontline, being able to lockdown targets for his team using his Q into a W knock up. If needed he can use his E to catch up and his Ult to damage and silence the team, which provides utility. These reasons are also why he is played as a support so often. When I create champions, (not oppressing on you, just saying) I often like to look at other parts of their kit, usually passive, and ask if I can incorporate this passive into maybe their other skills. Maybe Haunted could benefit from this thinking, maybe giving him a higher shield based on his passive stacks per enemy. I hope that helps :)

Meanwhile, back to the Q. I'm a little confused why a trap ability is firstly, on a tank, and secondly as his Q. I guess I'm not too worried about the latter, but I'm just mainly confused to as why a tank needs a trap ability. It seems as if the traps would either be really strong, or just plain useless if the enemy has true sight. To argue this is for counter play wouldn't really make sense. Counter play isn't about ultimatums, that's why, traps, such as Teemo mushroom, have health when revealed by true sight. Granted, it isn't a lot, but it still provides both parties a chance to win. For example- if I picked Velkoz , but another guy went Yasuo , because he counters me. Does that mean he automatically is guaranteed to win? I've played plenty of games as Velkoz against Yas and won. Sure, Yas has skills that counter me on paper and generally when applied, but a good Velkoz player can easily outplay a Yasuo provided they use some skill. Tanks aren't really meant to wait for an ambush if an enemy walks into their 'trap'. They are about initiating fights, and traps pretty much contradict that philosophy. I would consider reworking the Q entirely. Hopefully you'll be able to find a skill that fits well on Haunted ;)

Now for his W. This, is actually a pretty well designed skill. As an ability for a tank champion it works, and explores something not really done before, a shield with DoT aura. It's perfect for initiating fights, providing a shield while being able to damage enemies around you. One thing that irks me though is the missing health ratio. Imagine, if you will, you are about to start a fight. Normally, most people, except maybe the back line, will be on pretty full health. This applies to your other skills with a missing health ratio too- it simply won't be effective. Missing health damage on full to high health enemies contradict each other heavily. I'd suggest just simply change the missing health ratios to be current, or maximum as those would work better. However keep the core design of the skill the same, as it works pretty well.

Onto his E. I'm not sure why he hooks the furthest enemy struck, unless he is taking out the enemy team backline (which btw I think would be a really cool gameplay thematic that hasn't been explored yet, and I think would fit better with the missing HP ratios and well with Haunted's theme). I can see a obvious combo with his W, but it would just be too similar to Nautilus. If he maybe reels himself to an enemy then that may work better, given his shield ability. Overall an okayish skill, that probably would be better with some more time and tweaks to it.

The ult, I didn't really understand all too well. From what I understand, he gains movement speed, then the option to charge at an enemy, which gives them delayed damage and fear, while also allowing the casting of his other skills during its duration? It sounds a lot like you squished Hecarim's kit into one skill, but made the damage single target but significantly higher. If this skill knocked an enemy back, I would see some really good synergy, provided you changed his E to pull him to an enemy. Shield into pull into a knock back toward your team. I think this skill needs a bit of looking at.

Overall, Haunted is an alright champion, but there are other champs that could do a similar job but better. From what I can see, he is sort of a Jack-of-all-trades champ, but not specifically good at one thing. I think your passive is great albeit with some small tweaking, and your W is fantastic, but maybe consider reworking the Q completely, slightly altering the E and tweaking the ultimate, I think you would have a pretty solid champion.

Now I would like to give my say on the bickering between Regonas and many others. I am frustrated by both sides, but for pretty different reasons. I can see where Regonas is coming from, especially with the recent CCOS and the harsh tone being used, but I can see where others and the one you call 'cancer' (not nice btw), are coming from, especially with your attitude and the way you sometimes avoid questions and accusing them of having alts or being trolls. At the moment, everyone is just trying to piss each other off without coming off as stupid, so they still try to argue with somewhat logical points. I do think that many made by the others are a little more logical than yours, Regonas, but sometimes I do see they come off as a little harsh. I think if everyone could just let their pride go and take a step down, then maybe this doesn't have to continue.
