would you pay for single player campaign mode episodes?
i would.
imagine if riot made it so you can play a campaign mode that goes through each characters origin story or multiple campaign modes, i imagine each of them would be maybe 5 or 6 hours gameplay max, or even less. you can split up the lore even into multiple episodes per champion if needed. and sold them at a not too elevated price, like 5 per?
it would be an rpg style game, you play the hero and go through their lore. it wouldnt have to be too expansive either.
for example, as annie you would play her parents fighting to get out of noxus, and up to resettlement, then pick up annie, and fight through obtaining tibbers, and her journey to the institute of war.
the lore is irrelevant, the gameplay would be perfect for a diablo3 style rpg. it can even be a way to monetize the lore department, write new stories, but distribute them in the form of campaign episodes that you have to buy.
you would have the league of legends mastery trees the same as they are in the game for all champions, the 4 skills the same, make a random item generator and write a cute story to provide 4-5 hours gameplay. it doesnt have to be about the old lore, it could be an effective way of making the lore department not be a complete waste of resources.
using a Tibbers doll as a ward or something] or maybe a skin for that champion [One of their 'lower tier' skins that are not super popular, that way people aren't getting Pulsefire
just for completing some story mode]
's campaign, I want to face off against
. If I'm playing
, let me fight
, etc. This way, you flush out the lore of the champions a bit more, while also not needing to add too many disposable assets, like other character models.
and
And of course literally seeing
'die'. That was great in my opinion. I'd love to see similar things happen in the future, especially when it comes to skin themes.
