blind pick is not a proper learning environment. neither is ranked.

why are you removing the only tool players have to practice in league of legends?

there is more to the game than what goes on after the game loads.

there are things that happen in champ select that you also need to know about and how to react to them.

i used to only play blind pick and when i started playing draft, i felt completely overwhelmed, luckily for others i wasnt playing ranked, i was playing draft, about a year into playing only draft did i feel i had a good handle on my lane, good enough to hop into ranked for 20 games and land myself in bronze 5, but thats besides the point. the point is, blind pick is a terrible environment to learn. there is no guarantee of an even half way decent champ select, there is no guarantee you wont land with double jungle or pantheon j4 kill lane bot. its only a step above bots in terms of practice potential.

ranked is too serious. people dont feel like dealing with you learning in ranked. in ranked you need to know wtf you are doing already.

blind pick does not give you any learning opportunities. most of the time in blind pick you will be matched up against a champion that is surely to be banned in draft, and the remained of the time you get put up against terribly out of meta champions that learning the matchup does not help with anything at all.

now you did say there is a sandbox mode coming, which is fine for practicing some things, like a combo, or last hitting, or whatever, but for practicing overall game strategy nothing beats playing against plausible scenarios. and blind pick does not provide you with this.

This.

Blind Pick is nice and all, but it feels even more casual than Draft where as Draft feels like people are serious about winning, but they also want to have a good time and learn things about the game. It is basically the best of Blind Pick and Ranked.

If you remove blind instead of draft, you just can take all casual players with above-average skill and remove them from game. EUNE pre-patch situation: 2200 MMR (equals roughly to high plat/mid diamond) Blind pick: 5-10 min queue Draft: 15-20 min queue+ 7-10min ban/pick Ranked: 5-10 min queue+ 7-10min ban/pick

By removing blind you basically tell me "YOU NEED TO SACRIFICE 50+ MINUTES OF YOUR FREE TIME TO PLAY FOR 30 MINUTES" which is completely wrong. It might not seem as crucial if you are student with lots of free time, but it's imporant if you're working adult with responsibilities

Agreed. I hate how slow the other queues are.

I prefer blind simply because of time.

Queue times are not set in stone but a result of smaller plaeyrbase. If they removed blind, whole normals playerbase would move to draft, so it would greatly improve queue times in draft.

Sorry, but on top of the already long queue time, the pick/ban phase takes too long. Not the 7-10 minutes needed for the pick and ban, but when anyone of the other 9 players leave just because he hates one of the picks/bans (since leaving normal queue is unpunished other than the small time suspension). Most of the time I'd just stop playing league for the time if that happens to me in normal draft. This is why I predominantly play only blind picks when I play normals.

Well, just practice in flex queue then lol

Since you say they are removing it, I'm assuming you're talking about the regions other than NA/EUW/BR. Riot's answer:

"Our goal is to offer the fewest number of queues that give unique experiences (so we can keep queues healthy) while keeping disruption low, and in all regions except NA/EUW/BR, normal draft had very low participation" - http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/competitive/how-rank-2017-season

I disagree, I've used blind pick and ranked queues to learn how to play the game and to improve.

Agree so much. At least give us teambuilder back if you're going to take draft away.

It's the complete opposite for me. I find draft much easier since you can just ban out champs you don't like and you rarely ever get straight up counter-picked like you often do in blind. That said, I still enjoy blind more since I can just play whatever champion I like. The only reason blind probably seems more casual to you is because your MMR is low compared to draft/ranked. The games get just as intense, if you win more often than you lose, but unlike draft/ranked people are more willing to experiment and will deal with their counters in unorthodox ways.

Blind pick teaches you how to deal with the entire roster, especially if you only main 2-3 champs. You will eventually learn how to deal with all of your matchups, including the bad ones.

I'm against removing normal draft, but ranked is a good learning environment. It's the best learning chance you will get.

They should replace blind pick with Team Builder as well. The inability of players to ban champions or counterpick lanes forces them to get good and learn how to overcome their weaknesses instead of just avoid them completely and is valuable.

people clearly don't use blind pick to learn rofl. doing promos and have had 2 people in a row 1st time a champ and role... riot is gonna get rid of it if they want to. they don't listen to the feedback from pbe, why would they do anything for the boards haha

I mean blind pick is also just plagued with all purpose champions that require preemptive knowledge in draft queues for balance.

We have to make our own learning environments. It's almost as if we need a whole wiki dedicated to understanding the minute details of the game in order to best understand it. Kappa

You can't ban a champ you hate in blind, and you play against it. how else do you expect to learn.. time to reevaluate your take on this.

also, remember when you play you are allowed to play with people you know, and you can coordinate yourselves when you playing, draft or blind that can't be changed. but anyway..
