Champion Update Concept: LeBlanc

Ive always felt that LeBlanc's Assassin update was thematically more interesting than her original kit, but the fatal flaw was how the passive was developed which held the kit's success back. I've decided to redo the passive for the Assassin Update kit because I feel like it has so MUCH potential.

The designs below were written from the perspective of Patch writer

#Leblanc LeBlanc

"While LeBlanc's update for the Assassin Update was largely viewed as misstep in the direction of counter play we largely believe that it was a step in the RIGHT direction in terms of theme as her Ultimate and interaction with abilities really allowed LeBlanc players to tap into a playstyle that allowed them to deceive and misdirect their opponents.

We would like to bring that back because we believe there can be more to LeBlanc than just bursting down her opponents from a distance, while this can be fun it offers little interaction, chance of action/reaction or fun for the opponent. This is why we initially tried to place a delay on her damage. But unlike other Assassins during the update we failed at the same time to preserve some of the fun in her kit, and worse we failed to really bring out all we could with her theme.

This time we would like to introduce a delay to Leblanc's damage that doesn't hinder her and in fact can enhance her. While LeBlanc will have to wait a bit to unleash her full damage potential, she will gain some new effects which she can use to misdirect her opponents EVEN more, additionally should she chose to LeBlanc doesn't have to wait to unleash her combo, and in fact can set it up in advance.

The most important thing is that her full damage on a target isn't dependent on a timer on that target running down which discourages her attacking them. This was the worst part and now its removed."

LeBlanc can cast spells on the Sigil by clicking it, consuming it. Enemies are dealt 30-300 (based on level) (+ 80% AP) bonus magic damage if damaged through the Sigil. The unit mark will be consumed once LeBlanc damages the marked target with any other ability, dealing dealing Sigil of Malice's damage again.

"This way LeBlanc is encouraged to be creative for/while waiting, and its not just like, "aw man now I gotta wait," and her damage on a target isn't completely negated by having to wait, its just that LeBlanc will get MORE damage by being creative with misdirection and since misdirection takes patience and time, the delay on the Sigil's activation is totally natural as it gives them time to set up their prey. Additionally this passive has the benefit of not just TELLING the enemy to basically just disengage until the mark wears off which was probably the worst offender for why the Assassin rework passive felt so bad for Leblanc Players. Without using her passive LeBlanc should be able to bring her opponents low, but using her passive should make Assassinations more fun and a bit easier."

This kit would wholesale increase the amount of misdirection LeBlanc can play with, such as manipulating her target closer to the Sigil while its invisible and either charging up or ready, OR she can chose to reveal the Sigil on purpose and misdirect her target AWAY from it to a more dangerous threat such as another ability or a gank.

This LeBlanc is sure to keep her enemies truely on their toes, and guessing. Because the Sigil will go where the next ability terminates, but will be invisible the way her passive interacts with her abilities creates a sort of Shell game for the opponent: Which ability will leave the next Sigil?

Please if any of you know any LeBlanc Mains send them here so I can get some quality reviews.

Surprised no one has commented on this yet, so I will be the first. A warning in advance though, your descriptions were really hard to understand without diagrams so sorry if I misunderstood what you were imaging, but here are my thoughts on your rework:

The concept is an interesting idea, but realistically is one that I feel will not play out the way you are picturing, in the sense that no one is going to purposely miss a skill shot or ability, but will instead abuse your passive so that even if they end up missing they will not really be punished and can actually come out ahead since now they have an invisible area on the map that they can shoot an ability out of that deals even more damage. Additionally, I really do not like the idea of making her Q a skill shot. I realize that you made it a skill shot so that it can work with her passive, but doing so makes her a 100% skill shot champ and thus much of her damage unreliable. Also, her Q now does way too many things. Not only is it a skill shot, but you can use it as a channel (something you should never have on a mobile assassin mage) that you can reactive to cause a sigil to explode. You are just looking to frustrate players of the champ at that point with misclicks. Lastly, the way LeBlanc is able to cast a spell through the sigils just feels clunky since you have to physically click on the one you want to use. I think a much better way of doing this would be to only have the most recent one on the Rift instead of multiple at a time.

In conclusion, it is an interesting idea, but one that would not work well with your current implementation and one that I feel does not really go with the theme you were trying to make it fit in since I feel everything is much more of a surprise than a misdirection due to the invisible nature of the passive. I agree that LeBlanc does not currently fit the theme of a deceptive sorcerer as well as she could with a full rework, but ultimately I feel that she is in a relatively good place in the game currently.

Well, I don't think Riot would touch LB for a while since they just reverted her after like 2 years of the community demanding for the revert...
