I /love/ the idea and that we're finally trying it out

I remember back when the survey first put the idea to us

but the one thing I don't like is how they are bundled as multiple colors for 590

odds are that you'll only want one of the three variants offered, and you can only use one at a time in the first place.

590 seems a bit much for the one re-color i'd want to use, and its even more than the old 520 skins that were almost the same thing in certain cases

I would think that buying one of them individually for 100 - 200 RP is a much better idea /especially/ for the ones that are only for alternate skins you had to buy in the first place

Maybe have the Base Skin Chroma Packs be avaliable for upwards of 3,000 - 5,000 IP

Well the FAQs does say they are open to other options in the future for how they are gotten. Like you could have them from the Champion Mastery system which would be a nice way to get free recolor.

I'd rather see them as rewards for mastery of a champion.

That or make them 10,000 IP or more if they have to.

Or just sell them seperatly for 260 RP. (Personally I'd prefer 120 RP lol)

I definitely don't want Chromas sold only in packs; I am highly unlikely to want more than one Chroma per skin, similar to how I am unlikely to want more than one skin per champion.

I think Riot should allow players to "create" their own Chromas by making a tool that allows players to select colors for set parts of a champion (ex: primary, secondary, tertiary— any combination of three colors for three subsections of a skin/champion's model). If Riot is worried that some custom Chromas might be overbearing (ex: neon pink everything, everywhere, every game), they could simply not allow colors that are too bright (whether by limiting the editing tool or by manually approving custom Chromas).

The current pricing model I'm seeing for Chromas is overpriced (we'd effectively be forced to buy 3 discounted Chromas in order to get the one we want). The proposed system also inefficient— Rioters are making these things individually, which takes time away from producing other content, plus they might not make the color combinations that players really want for each skin/champion.

I'm not sure how Riot could tie in Chromas to Champion Mastery without creating a connection that most players or Riot wouldn't find very appealing (ex: mastering a champion unlocks one specific non-custom Chroma for that champion's classic skin— any player that uses real skins would never use that Chroma, therefore, any player that uses real skins wouldn't care about that aspect of Champion Mastery). Another example: Riot wouldn't want to give one special non-custom Chroma for each of a champion's skins that would be unlocked upon reaching maximum Champion Mastery for that champion because that would probably be "too much work" for no real payoff. That, and any Chroma unlocked for free might not be as appealing as one you could purchase...

TL;DR: Riot, can you find a way to allow players to create their own Chromas? They're better at choosing the colors they want than you are. Just saying. Also, please don't force us to buy bundles for the one Chroma we want.

Lol of course they're going to use this idea to maximize profits and milk every cent they can out of you. It's the kind of company they are. Speak with your wallet and don't buy into their bullshit. Heroes of the Storm does this same thing for free, just by playing a Hero and levelling them up you unlock color variants.

Riot knows people will mindlessly buy this crap without thinking twice. The fact that it's taken them this long to release recolors for RP is the surprising part.

I own ~160 (support) skins, gotta match in da botlane. I'd want the sets of 3 recolors that way I can always match c: why doesn't Janna have a purple skin? Why doesn't Leona have enough color variation to match 90% of ADC skins? Why aren't their supports that match the heartseeker skins (other than 5th age Taric)? I hope they do color variations of Dryad Raka though. Because human skin with gorgeous recolors sounds lovely.

What people dont know:

Chroma packs were intended to be obtained by methods other than RP. They have a great idea, and first state its a RP exclusive. Then they "deliver" by doing what the community asks. Now Rito is seen as a community-oriented company.**

Wouldn't pay for a color swap. Maybe 260 or something for all three. It takes their artist about five minutes in photoshop. and some of that is time to open and save the file.

I've been sitting on a left over balance of ~ 300 RP for ages now, and the only thing I can buy with that is a Summoner Icon which I find a really dumb thing to spend money on since they have no relevance in the actual game.

Please consider these "chroma packs" (something that is mere minutes of work) an option for people to spend their leftover RP on, rather than another major purchase.

Point money systems are already frustrating enough without the added factor of being stuck with points you paid for, but can't spend them on anything.

i can honestly say in the case of lucian that none of the colors are to what i would prefer, it would be a waste of mere minutes to fix that issue by granting ME the ability to choose those colors

i wont be spending 590 on lucian, thats for sure

I personally agree with the pricing more or less, though I might shave it down to around 490-550RP. I do like the idea of these simple, yet effective recolors, gives rise to a lot of possibilities. Creating chromas would be interesting too, like Arrevax said.

I pulled this from the FAQs for the Chroma packs after reading about them on Surrender @ 20.

"Why do I have to buy three chromas in a pack instead of just one at a time? Historically, our lowest tier of skins were priced at 390 RP. Over the years, we’ve improved skins to the point that the “recolor” tier no longer reflects the polish and quality of our newer offerings. But despite the improvement in visuals and the deeper expression chroma packs allow (linking color choices to a theme that re-imagines the original scheme), a single chroma would slot into our pricing at that 390 RP level. If we offered them individually, three would run 1170 RP. Instead, we’ve chosen to package three of them in a pack for 590 RP, which we feel offers higher value while not skimping on quality or consistency. Do you feel you’d be happy with the purchase if you could pick up a single chroma for 390 RP? Let us know, and leave us your other feedback on chroma packs, too."

It does make sense, but like they have said, they're open to feedback.

I think it would be really fun to have pink and purple recolours for some of the female champs :) Maybe like a chroma pack that changes Sona's Hair color, or something like that. :) I love the cute little girly skins and having options to femme up a few champs would be amazing :D

They basically said in the FAQ they dont want to make them available for 100-200 RP.

The cheapest skins are 390 RP. So that is what youd expect to pay if they were solo, which is just too muc.
