[Champion Concept]Ryouhei, Chaser of the Wind

A gifted twin-swordsmen, Ryouhei always stood a head taller than his kin. Many said this is why his head was always in the clouds. Quite and reserved, there is a kind and sincere strength that runs through him.

When Noxus invaded Ionia, Ryouhei was one of the first to join the fight. After hearing of the slaughter at the Ionian sword school, Ryouhei left the battlefield to find reason to this chaos. Knowing Yasou would never commit such an act, he vowed to clear Yasou's name and bring him home to face his accusers.

Ryouhei's journey brought him to the League of Legends, where he met Janna. Suspicious of his intents at first, ultimately, she was impressed by his swordsmanship and natural insight, and helped him focus his power and master his wind technique. As he gains more allies everyday, Ryouhei battles his way through, seeking his lost friend.

Abilities

Passive

Chasing the Wind Ryouhei passes through units. Additionally, he gains bonus Tenacity as he levels. While under the effect of Second Wind, Ryouhei gains a bonus to movement speed when passing through units.

Q

Wind Shear Mana: 50/60/70/80/90 Range: 900 Ryouhei charges a swing with both his blades, unleashing a devastating slice in front of him, damaging and slowing enemies.

After charging up to 2 seconds, Ryouhei releases a missile slice dealing 20/40/60/80/100(+50% bonus Attack Damage)(+50% Ability Power) up to 45/85/100/155/200(+50% bonus Attack Damage)(+50% Ability Power) dealing the most damage at the furthest range and slowing enemies stuck for 1 second.

Second Wind - Enemies are knocked up for 0.5 seconds to 0.75 seconds.

W

Keen Edge Mana: 50 Range: Self Ryouhei clothes his blades in wind, passively increasing his attack speed. He may also activate this ability to gain a ranged attack with bonus attack speed. The passive ability is lost while on cooldown.

Passive: Increases attack speed by 5%/10%/15%/20%/25% Active: Ryouhei increases his Attack Range by 400 for 7 seconds and gains 20%/30%/40%/50%/60% attack speed.

Second Wind - Auto attacks while under Keen Edge deal an additional 10/20/30/40/50(+12% bonus Attack Damage)(+12% Ability Power) magic damage on hit.

Second Wind Cost: 70/80/90/100/110 Mana Range: 800 Finding his focus, Ryouhei shields himself or moves to protect one of his allies.

The shield absorbs 60/80/120/160/200(+25% Ability Power) damage. If cast upon an ally, Ryouhei dashes towards the target, granting them 10%(+5% Ability Power) bonus movement speed, and taunts surrounding enemies into attacking him for 1 sec.

While cast on himself, Second Wind will empower the next ability Ryouhei uses.

Final Tempest Cost: 100 Range: 700

Ryouhei jumps towards the target area, damaging and knocking up all enemies.

With the wind at his feat and mighty tempest on his shoulders, Ryouhei leaps at the target area dealing 150/200/275(+100% bonus Attack Damage)(+75% Ability Power) magic damage to all enemies in the area and knocking enemies airborne.

Second Wind - Knocks all enemies back instead, and grants Ryouhei 15% bonus speed for 7 seconds.

Why are there so many champ ideas about wind lately? :o

Nice and brief concept, I like the formatting (it works given its simplicity)!


#Lore

Not a whole lot for me to pick through, but it's understandable if you don't like writing. However, I think that you could take Ryouhei to new heights if you helped define him as a new and interesting character to the League.

Right now, you have some rather bland interactions, and an interesting personality to go with:

  • Why is he quiet?

  • What drives him as a person?

  • What is his resolve? Why does he protect others?

Right now, Ryouhei just seemingly goes through life, and isn't engaging. There needs to be novel conflict, personal and environmental. A character is forged through the metal of their choices, what has Ryouhei gone through, and what does he hope to become? Right now you have the makings for a side character, think in terms of Harry Potter:

Ron Weasely is a character with a defined personality, but he doesn't get developed in a fashion like Harry Potter.

League's champions play their own stories, and develop/mature in their own regards. I see him as a protector of sorts, why?

I'd love to see into the mind of Ryouhei!

#Kit

First off, I think this is a really solid kit, and seeing as this is your first champion I am impressed! Just a few small tweaks I would recommend:

  • Q: Make the chargeup to 2 seconds, 3 seconds is really long.

  • Q: increase the maximum damage more at later levels, right now it's underwhelming

  • W: to reduce similarities to Kayle, how about you reduce the duration to 4~ seconds?

Nothing really stands out to me as wrong, though I'd like if the passive was more interesting. The Second Wind interaction is awesome, but it needs more than just tenacity (boring, and Irelia already has it). I'd strengthen it into a more gameplay focused passive:

  • Interactions with knocked up enemies?

  • Maybe tie in more with the dual wielding aspect?
