Why is Lux's new VO a paradoy of herself?

I always thought there was a clear distinction between someone like Jarvan IV, who is vain and condescending, but puts on the guise of a hero, and Garen, who is more of the real deal, despite his well meaning faults. Lux always struck me as the latter.

I understand wanting to flesh out character's identity, but in contrasting them so you run the risk of doing the opposite: simply making them a one dimensional parody of themselves.

This is not to knock the voice work at all, its tremendously well acted. I just do not feel it appropriate for her character. Call me old fashion, but you can have more than one good guy that does not have to be anti-hero or secretly bad. Its not boring, its honestly relevant. Just because she believes in and upholds the ideals of Demacia does not mean that Demacia always does.

Anyway, I hope at least Star Guardian keeps her current VO.

yea.... some of her voiceover lines are incredibly weird and out of character imo.

some are really well done and give her additional depth.

i really like the one where she says

"We're all so concerned about what Demacia IS, we forget to ask what it CAN be."

on the other hand i really dont like

"Demacia and Noxus are just lines on a map" "Do you ever charge into battle screaming NOXUS?... Aw too bad"

like what the fuck? this comes out of nowhere. i mean you could interpret the first line as part of her work as a covert ops agent, when she even infiltrated the chamber of the noxian high command. basically from the perspective that there are no limits to where she can go when she wants to and disregarding political borders.

but considering that her character had still been dedicated towards demacia this is really fucking weird. i can see her as an idealist who sees the flaws in the system and would try to better the world shes living in, but not as someone who actually likes what noxus stands for either.

Jarvan isn't vain or condescending.
