That is the look Bengi gave after Faker failed flash.

My heart made that look the day Ruegen slaughtered my father. The Hammer-Yordle makes it now.

Hahaha, I loved her old lore for exactly that reason. She was the yordle Inigo Montoya.

Wrong website; you're looking for Tumblr or Imgur.

Kind of a bad example, comic continuity is non existant, a mainly Marvel and DC prevalent characteristic.

BattleBalladeer1 votes

616 is the only 'real' continuity with everything else being an alternate reality.

But since so many authors contribute to the same thing, genuine continuity is actually non-existant.

I kinda wish they'd scrap it all and just only do one-offs and indy series while borrowing eachother's characters since they've flocked up 616 so bad. (Spiderman is literally bat-man with super-strength and reflexes now)

Transgressor1 votes

I like Batman Beyond since it's the only thing that has some actual continuity. And that was the point I stopped bothering with american comics and started reading some japanese ones. Perhaps one day, something with actual cohesion might pop up to interest me, do you have something to recommend?

I love me some Frank Miller, and even then I still find the lack of continuity off-putting. Not really his fault though, but more of the pre-existing fundations.

As far as the one-offs go, I do think stories with actual novelty are really needed, given the fact the audience has grew in age and demographic. Not only that, but alternative realities are not really needed to explore different narratives.

I love itttttttttttttttttttt Her new splash is so cuteeeeeeeeeeeee

Gotta wait to see how she's in game.

Currently her personality is on par with Sion/Lissandra/Syndra(and some others)when it comes to thematic cohesion, appart from the fact that she looks up to the fascists that are Demacians.

Didn't they state her rework scale would be as big as Sion's? I don't see that. Correct me if I'm wrong though(perhaps it was Taric's?).

Chatillon1 votes

they said it would be just under a 'sion level' rework

Thanks for clearing that out for me.

I swear that if they make HER the Paladin of this game I'm quitting.

You seen her kit? I've never seen a Paladin that violent before.

You ever been mauled by one with wings popped?

I'm going to go ahead and assume I wouldn't want to.

It's a World of Warcraft joke. The Paladin class had (have? I haven't played since the end of WotLK) a spell called Avenging Wrath, which increased all of their damage and healing by 20% for 20 seconds. When the spell was cast, golden wings would appear on the paladin for the duration of the spell. Hence "popping wings."

The Retribution tree was the Offensive tree for Paladins, which revolved around them "popping wings" and then bursting you down with a two handed weapon and a lot of crit in a single rotation of their spells. This made them hated in common PvP, where the gear most people used lacked anything to deal with crit. Less so in Arenas, where resilience negated huge portions of their damage and good comps prioritized utility over pure damage.

I miss playing WoW.

Wheatloaf1 votes

I appreciate the explanation. Most of my experience with Paladins comes from D&D, and I haven't had the pleasure of seeing someone run any build that didn't involve some sort of divine/healing aspect and instead going for maximum smiteage.

Certainly have never played WoW, but you made it pretty easy to imagine why they were terrifying.

Decrit1 votes

well, in 5.0 there is the vengeance paladin which is a zealot/crusader archetype. Not sure how it was exactly in old evrsions of DeD, but more smiting violence based paladins were somewhat the norm, if i am right?

Wheatloaf1 votes

Okay newer D&D sounds scary now >.>

Edit: I play 3.5e so :/

Pathfinder (AKA "3.75") is so much more enjoyable.

I now want to look for rules that will let me play LoL characters in D&D/Pathfinder. Ones that will tell you what class they'd be, how to build them, etc.

I mean...I'm playing a Cleric of Torm named "Garen Soraka", so that should tell you something.

Ralanr1 votes

I like 5e. Non-magical characters feel more powerful than in other games. I tend to dislike spell casters.

Seth the Bum1 votes

I haven't heard bad things about 5th, but I'm still afraid to look at newer editions thanks to 4th.

It's a lot like 2e. Nothing like 4e.

Oath of Vengence

The Oath of Vengeance is a solemn commitment to punish those who have committed a grievous sin. When evil forces slaughter helpless villagers, when an entire people turns against the w ill of the gods, when a thieves’ guild grows too violent and powerful, when a dragon rampages through the countryside—at times like these, paladins arise and swear an Oath of Vengeance to set right that which has gone wrong. To these paladins— sometimes called avengers or dark knights—their own purity is not as important as delivering justice

KingWanahakalugi1 votes

I'm playing 5.0 Dragonborn Paladin with Oath of Vengeance right now. At level 4 I'm putting out an average of 35 damage per attack. I also have tendency to one-shot large monsters with crit.

Ariel the Cruel3 votes

I've had almost no experience with D&D. But the 1 time I did try to play there was a paladin. Apparently there's also some type of slime monster that eats metal in that universe.

He kept them jars, wore cloth armor, and threw them at enemies. Apparently alignment penalties only applied if you killed people, not stripped them almost naked. o_O

Ralanr1 votes

Best. Paladin. Ever.

Being 2-shot by double hammer of wrath crits was so healthy and balanced.

I miss playing WoW.

I miss playing old WoW...I don't even recognize what it's become at this point.

She's obviously a Retribution pally.

BattleBalladeer3 votes

Have not played a DDO/D&D or Warcraft paladin properly before then, eh?

I for one think she makes a fantastic paladin. A fantastically cute paladin, but a paladin nonetheless.

EDIT: Also in regard to the OP of this Sub-thread: Leona is like a traditional Sword and Board pally, and I always yell GET SMOTE SON at my skype friends when I kill someone with her ult. Then there is Garen... Poppy is hardly the only paladin.

Wheatloaf3 votes

Whenever I play D&D everyone goes Chaotic Neutral, and thus only one or two have ever even bothered looking at Paladin, so most of what I know is based on the basic structure of the class, which involves some healing aspects that definitely aren't on Poppy. Far as I can tell, we do have some (mostly offensive) variations on Paladin, but Taric is likely to be the first champion that ends up totally true to the Paladin style.

Also I have no idea why nobody ever wants to play a Monk on D&D 3.5e.

BattleBalladeer1 votes

Im trying to be a chaotic good Fighter with a CN HOrc in a 5e group atm. So friggen annoying having to babysit in a fantasy world or else they'll wander around doing w/e to make the party look like crap.

Really to me the 3rd edition Pally wasn't a real healer. His spells are too limited and LoH, while effective burst healing, is also only a couple times a day. Traditionally more of the one true tank who can take whatever hits are thrown.

Pallies can be tooled for smite-focused builds to hit evil-doers like a righteous truck from heavens.

I really like DDO's very diverse build options and it makes- arguably- as good a port of 3rd as NWN was.

Now in order to avoid thread derailment: I'd say poppy is still more of a defender type front-line tank with some magical utility and a wallop of a smite. That's how I like playing melee's: with small spell books full of utility, and large weapons.

No one wants to play monk because they are generally going to be weaker in combat than any of the other classes. They are SUPER MAD (not in the good way) in that they need a good Strength, Wisdom, Dex, and Constitution to be effective. On top of that they aren't a full BAB class, so their accuracy starts to dip heavily once AC starts scaling. And you can't not scale AC or else the actual fighters get to autohit everyone and everything. It's such a problem that my playgroup referred to our monks "Flurry of Blows" as "Flurry of good luck" To make a disadvantageous situation worse unlike a fighter who can take that nice sword you got as loot and shoot up in effective damage a monks damage comes from his unarmed strike which only gets increases to damage from monk levels and size increases. Frankly all the monks cool features, AC bonus, flurry, etc come in the first three levels so you find a lot more Fighter splash monk builds then you find monk builds. The only thing the monk really EXCELS at is single target control with them naturally getting improved trip. Basic issue is that any role you put a monk into (besides awesome acrobatic fears that are highly DM variable) you could bring more to the table as a different class. They're like the Eve of DnD. Too reliant on having too many things and generally worse than other similar classes in all but one thing that is highly dependent upon the input of other people.

Ariel the Cruel1 votes

I played a Gnome monk in Neverwinter Nights 2. Granted, I wasn't going for damage. I applied everything I could to making sure nothing could actually hit him and he tanked his way up to the final boss.

There's just something amusing about seeing all those "miss" messages.

IronChefBoyardee2 votes

Want to point out, Garen would most likely be a fighter or even a barbarian (remember class is not role) not a Paladin. Paladins of league are probably Leona and Kayle. New poppy seems like a squire archetype of a paladin. Btw PF FOR LYFE

I'm so relieved we're getting rid of that's smelly pile of toxic wast you called her "kit". Just everything about her current kit is despicable. Now, let's wait for Tryndamere and Kayle rebirth as well.

Vanjie1 votes

Honestly if you think that Poppy's old kit . . . and the champions that have ULTS and passives that make them unkillable is balanced . . . .well then you are delusional. The game is not about who can pop their ult or wait out their passive to kill people . . . it is about taking the time to learn a champion and using their abilities and passive to win the game. There is no skill behind someone that can pop a broken mechanic. I really hope they remove all the ults and passives that give immunity.

As much as I would love to agree with you, I don't. I would say just lower the times that allow them to be immune. Tryndamere's ult is for 5 seconds. So I would say just lower it down to the same amount as Kayle's

JustMyBassCannon1 votes

{quoted}

Tryndamere's ult is for 5 seconds. So I would say just lower it down to the same amount as Kayle's

Except Kayle's ultimate is significantly more powerful than Tryndamere's ultimate.

Let's compare.

  1. Kayle's has 10 second lower base cooldown (and she itemizes really well with CDR)
  2. Kayle's can be placed on any ally, not just herself.
  3. Kayle's does far more than prevent death; it stops any damage for its duration, period. This means you can time her ultimate for when enemies are throwing their burst damage, rather than just to save them at the last second

Meanwhile, the two advantages of Tryndamere's ultimate are an extra 2 seconds and the ability to cast it while he is otherwise disabled. He can't use it unless he is actually about to die, and that actually makes his ultimate far more predictable, so that people can and will save hard CC, Exhaust, Ignite, etc. in order to make his ultimate significantly less effective.

He's even 100% melee, unlike Kayle. He pays for those 2 extra seconds.

Good job in understanding the exact opposite of what I said in my post. I'm still wondering how you did that. I was pretty straightforward in what I typed. As far as I know, "despicable" isn't synonym to "balanced" or "fun".
