Results are IN, baby!

Welcome, Citizens!

As always, this is the CCOS Results thread: your one-stop source for all the exciting, thrilling, heart-pounding...um...numbers and judging you can possibly imagine? Sorry, that sentence sort of got away from me there.

Let me begin, as always, by congratulations everyone who participated! We couldn't do it without you, and I mean that both literally and figuratively. Let me also extend a special thanks to our judges Echoing, Skyelarke, Arakadia, Raxistaicho, and (I guess) me, The Djinn. Without them I'd be drowning in a sea of unjudged concepts.

A Special Note for this Month

I wanted to remind everyone of two things. First, we're testing a new rubric this month, and I'd love your feedback on it, both from our judges and from our competitors. Secondly, remember that the goal of this contest is to get critique, learn, and improve: don't let a low score get you down. Also remember that the new rubric is a little less forgiving than the previous one: high scores should be much harder to get, and a 30/60 should be considered to be about an average concept.

The scores were calculated by taking the numbers from every judge and averaging them together to give each concept a total score out of 60 points. The links to the judge's sheets (including details of the specific categories and judge comments) can be found at the bottom of this post)

And Now...

The moment you've all been waiting for! Here are our top five entries for September 2017!

TIRVA, THE 50 BLADES' REQUIEM by SPOOKS ARE LOOSE [32.5/60]

GRACE, THE HAUNTED MALIGNER by K1BO [35.6/60]

NINA, THE ELDRITCH VESSEL by IM A MORON [36.5/60]

Once again, a big round of applause for all our contestants and judges! Feel free to ask questions in the comments below, give us your feedback on the scoring system, the contest, or things you'd like to see us do for future contests, and we'll see you all next month for the October CCOS!

As a heads up, apologies if things are a LITTLE odd in the visual display here -- was trying out a new display, and I don't have all the kinks ironed out yet, clearly!

Also reported for not having a gif in the results section

Holy Shit this is a nice page!

Anyways still good to see that this is still going.

Would like to enter in again sometime, but I'm just not getting ideas (that plus college work)

Yaaaaay top five ^^ Although I actually expected to get higher though... And the results vary a lot between judges aswell XD I mean what, is Jorah's lore generic or is it well rounded and clear? Is the short story hard to read or well readable? Is his kit unique and cool? Or unimaginative and uneventful?

Maybe some feedback here would be to have more communication between the judges to clarify exactly what and why a certain score would be given...all of the judges gave Jorah very different points for certain categories (especially lore and flow). Maybe with more communication between each other, a more rounded score could be given, while at the same time, some can point out certain strengths or flaws that others had maybe not seen. This will give a better feedback for the writer and (I think) a better result...Not saying that this result is bad btw, congratulations to the winner ^^

Also: I am feeling like some (especially in the lore part) keep contestants to a much much much higher standard then most if not all actual champions in game... Most of a champions personality is conveyed in game via quotes... and while some indeed have very elaborate short stories, most don't go any deeper then I did with Jorah...

Anyway, I'm not sure if I'm gonna enter coming month, since I don't have a concept ready :/

Thank y'all so much! I'm hella excited to be in the top 5, but that's besides the point. I read every single comment y'all made on my champ, and I thank you for all the criticisms. The main reason I joined this CCOS was not to see my champ at the top (tbh I'm happy it did...) but to learn about champ design myself! This truly was a learning experience, and I'll take every single one of your comments into consideration if I ever do make another champ! Thank you so much, judges!
