Kára, the Valkyrie

While listening to some old, and new RPG music(check out the 'RPG chillout music' playlist), I was thinking about some old character ideas. And then came across one of my favorite fantasy creatures, Valkyrie. I love them, because they are not only female warrior badasses, but are mysterious, poetic and romantic. As such I decided to bring an idea here for such a champion. So far we have a Greek sun warrior and a Abrahamic style angel in the game. We need some love for the heathen beliefs. :D

Kára's appearance. Since Leona is a redhead and Kayle blonde, the normal Nordic tropes are taken. So I am thinking something dark, perhaps even black. She should be wearing lovely, form fitting norse armor but a bit more like a battle dress type thing, that shows a medium amount of skin. No wings baseline, Valkyrie were rarely depicted as having wings rather they rode flying horses, plus Kayle and Morg have wings.

Unlike other Freljord champions(I loooove the Freljord). The should really come across in a mysterious 'days of yore' type manner, with a hint of a heroic, lovable backstory. Maybe some tragic story of losing her warrior :c

She views her allies as 'her champions' ;P

Now, onto the part I like.

Stats: Melee, 175 range Attack Damage, High Movement Speed, High Health, Medium Health Regen, High Mana, Low Mana Regen, Low Armor, High Magic Resist, Medium

Passive: Fables While fighting great monsters, Kára's knowledge of ancient fables about such foes will aid her and her champions. Champions, Large monsters, Buffs and Epic monsters will have momentary weak times when Kára's Spear of Thunder will do bonus damage. If Kára lands her Spear of Thunder, Fervor of Battle Active or Seiðr is procced on the enemy during this window, the attack will deal 5% of the targets maximum HP as magic damage and the monster or enemy champion will receive a debuff that causes it to take 10% bonus damage for 1.5 seconds from Kára and her allies.

Math: Kára will begin her fables on initiation with the target, she will find it's weakness after 2.5-1 second(s) based on level. Fables will go on cooldown for 12-6 seconds based on level, this cooldown begins after it's window or after the debuff has ended. But the cooldown is reduced by 1 second each time nearby allies attack enemy champions/neutral camps with a damaging ability or basic attack. This makes Kára stronger with champions/players who are willing to show their 'valor' and go all in.

Q: Spear of Thunder, Cooldown 12/11/10/9/8, Linear Skillshot, Range 700, Mana 40/50/60/70/80. Kára hurls a spear charged with the Thunder of the Gods in a targeted direction. On impact with any enemy/neutral unit, it will deal 50/90/130/170/210+50% Bonus Attack Damage as Physical Damage and slowing the target for 30% for 1.5 seconds. The spear is thrown with such force that it will pass straight through them, causing them to bleed for an additional 20% of the total damage over 2 seconds. The spear can pass through up to 3 targets, but the range, slow and damage is reduced by 50% for each target it passes through.

W: Battle Cry, Cooldown 15, Range 900, Mana 50/60/70/80/90. Kára lets out a glorious cry to inspire Her Champions. Nearby allied Champions next damaging spell or basic attack will be empowered with Seiðr(magic) to deal 10/20/30/40/50+20% Ability Power as bonus magic damage, healing them for the damage dealt. The cooldown of this ability is reduced when Kára takes damage.

E: Fervor of Battle, Cooldown 9/8/7/6/5, Mana 70. Passively, Kára's basic attacks deal a bonus 5/10/15/20/25 bonus physical damage, stacking up to three times on a specific target. On three stacks she may use the active effect.

On activation Kára leaps to the target she last attacked who has at least 3 stacks on them. She slams into them and stuns them for 1.5 seconds and deals 50/60/70/80/90+40% of her Bonus AD as physical damage.

Now, her ultimate I am a bit divided on. I had two different ideas, one more combative, one more supportive. Both could fit her character them, but... I will post both, and put a poll for which people like better.

Ult Option 1: Chooser of the Slain If a nearby allied champion dies to an enemy champion, Kára may choose to bring them back to life to prove themselves a worthy champion. They will restore with full HP and resource, and will take 10/20/30% reduced damage. However they will rapidly lose life, until they die fully, they may restore their life only by dealing damage to enemy champions or epic monsters. If they manage to survive for 15/12.5/10 seconds, they will revive fully. If they run out of health they will fully die.

Pros: Fun Rewards dangerous play Supports a team player

Cons: Hard to balance Cannot be used on self May require specific tuning for every champion on the 'self healing through damage' part

Ult Option 2: Ride of the Valkyrie Kára spreads wings of ancient Seiðr and speeds to a targeted allied champion or turret within 3000/3500/4000 units of her. Kara will continue a short distance after knocking back any enemies struck and dealing 200/350/500+40% Ability Power as physical damage to them. Placing herself directly in combat with them.

Pros: Fun Difficult to aim and use but rewarding when used right Adds mobility to her kit

Cons: Hard to balance Similar to other champion's abilities

I fell in love with this champion idea after reading the passive. I prefer Chooser of the Slain, but I agree that it's hard to balance. Some alternatives include landing a killing blow, or, landing the killing blow specifically on the person that killed them within that time.

I like the idea of Chooser of the Slain. I would assume it would in a way similar to Sion passive. I like it because it feels like Yorick's old ult, but also gives the capability of the user to full revive instead of just dying. I think giving a percent lifesteal/spellvamp that increases with rank may be the way to go in terms of the champion attempting to stay alive.
