[Champion Concept] Reika, the herbal alchemist.
Name: Reika Gender: Female Age: 23 Residence: Zaun
Lore: "This city can't breathe. Because of something they use to call progress. But all I see is disease and suffering. Do you know the cultivairs in the depth of Zaun? They are the true beauty, the future of this city. I will show them that progress can be found in our own very root, nature itself."
Reika is a young alchemist, living in the districts of Zaun. Her father was working as a gardener for a chem-barons cultivair, her mother died many years ago. She got killed by the Zaun Gray, slowly poisoning her over the years. And so she found out what she wants to do with her life: helping people suffering the same disease like her mother. The clean air in the cultivair her father was working in and the beauty of nature found in this polluted city made her believe that she can find the answer by using natural ingredients. And so she became an alchemist and is trying to find a cure for this plague.
Gameplay: Reika is meant as a jungling diver, scaling with AP.
Passive: Formula 34 (Name of the item) Similar to Viktor, Reika starts the game with an unique item in her inventory. But unlike Viktor's hextech core, this item has many different building paths. Since she is meant as a jungler, the first upgrade costs her 350g and gives her extra xp for killing jungle creeps. The following build paths are similar to the jungle items, except that there is no "trackers knife" upgrade. Maybe the item can grant additional stats, depends on balancing. Maybe AP and/or health would fit.
The item is changing her smite additionally to the challenging or chilling smite, too. She gets the ability to smite plants. If she smites a plant, the item gets an active effect, based on the plant she "harvested". Blast cone: Skillshot. Leaving a circle shaped area, enemies standing inside it get reduced armor and take damage over time. Honeyfruit: Skillshot. Leaving a circle shaped area, allies standing inside get healed over time. Scryer's Bloom: Skillshot. Reveals in the targeted area (invisibility included). This upgrade allows Reika not to use a trackers knife update, since she can use it to clear wards and use a ward trinket herself.
To decrease the force of taking smite and going in the jungle with Reika, maybe there could be an additional building path for the item. She will lose the active effect, but as a trade she could get additional stats.
Q: Steam Valve Reika is releasing steam from her alchemy apparature. She is jumping to a targeted area, dealing AoE magic damage. If she isn't jumping further than a specific range, the damage dealt is increased.
W: Anti-Immune-Syringes Skillshot. This skill uses an ammunition system, holding up to 2 charges. Linear skillshot. It pierces through jungle creatures, but not through enemy champions. Enemies hit are suffering the "weakened immune system", which can stack up to 2 times. Each stack increases Reika's magic damage against this target by 7,5%. If the enemy has 2 stacks, the next AA from Reika against this target is stunning for 1 second.
E: Hardening Elixir Passive: If Reika gets hit 3 times in a row by the same enemy (doesn't matter if skill or AA), she gets a shield of x% of her max hp. The enemy triggering this effect gets marked and for the next x seconds Reika's AAs are dealing additional magic damage against the marked enemy.
R: Opus Magnum Reika launches an elixir towards an enemy (point & click). Deals magic damage and is debuffing the enemy with "failed experiment". For the next x seconds, all enemies surrounding the targeted enemy take magic damage over time.
I tried to create a kit that is fitting Riot's standards for a diver. She has a pretty reliable gap closer with her Q. She gets some survivability thanks to the passive of her E. And she has the ability to seperate one enemy from the others by forcing them to leave the area because of the magic damage around him.
Appearance: Reika is a young lady, wearing alot of hextech equipment. She has 2 gloves with steam valves, which she uses to attack her enemies at close range. On her back is a tube she is carrying a plant with her. Small gimmick: the plant in the tube is changing dependant on the plant she smited for her additional effects. She has black hair and pale skin.
Maybe I will follow up later with some artwork to describe her further.
That's my concept for an alchemy based champion. I know it is alot of text, but a detailed champion concept kinda forces you to describe alot. :P I would love to get some feedback. And don't hold back to criticize.
