Introducing #Edga, Valoran's traveling Festival

#Lore

Edga had always been a smart child. Living in the streets of Piltover she learned to make the most of all things, and there she got the so-called street smarts, but that wasn't all: She was an inventor - in the middle of the City of Progress.
Once she fully realized what she could do she also realized it was a dream come true. And so she used the opportunity to - no, not rise to the top and become a famous inventor, nor further science and the city itself, but rather to shamelessly rip people off. "Take what you can, and give nothing back!" She'd read in a book about pirates, and oh how much did she take.

Using what money she had (buried in a playground), she bought a fine dress, got a make-over for a day and used the new look to impersonate a seller of a big invention firm, selling her inventions for ridiculously high prices to the firm's clientele. At first she'd doubted it would work, it was a joke, a laugh, it couldn't possible work, but to her surprise it actually did.
Them rich peoples actually bought her products.
She collected whole riches in a single day which drove the scheme on for days, then weeks and finally months.
She didn't really think about repercussions - she was just having fun - but then it suddenly went wrong.

One day - on the way to a buyer - she saw a wanted poster on a wall. A wanted poster of herself. Of course they didn't quite get her right - they didn't have a picture, only a sketch, and they made her look ... snobbier than she was, but of course she panicked.

For days she hid and fretted. What to do? And then finally it hit her. "Take what you can and give nothing back!" How true that saying was, that pirate saying. So she packed up all of her belongings, all of her money, and fled to Bilgewater, where she started up a trading company. Her inventions made her company flourish in one quick year. Faster, safer ships that didn't rely on the winds, but rather on propulsion systems, cooling systems to make foods last longer, mobile and easy-to-use cranes, all sorts of things made her company the No° 1 in Bilgewater. And soon she was renowned under her own name, and not the false identity the authorities were hunting. She became complacent.
She fell in love, married, settled down, had children, taught them the 'family trade' (it felt so absurd to her, she was a street urchin at heart) and lived peacefully, grew old. Eventually her husband died, but it wasn't too bad. One day she found out she was to be a grand-mother, then a great-grandmother and then she was forced to retire, giving up the company to her son and daughter.

But life became ... boring(?) for her, and she wanted something to change. She revisited Piltover, visited her own home and saw that not everything had been so great as she remembered it. The children there weren't all smart like her, weren't all happy, and suddenly she decided:
She would make all of the childrens smile!

She gave the city funds to build schools, homes, parks, and then she packed her favorite inventions once more and set out to make all the children in Valoran happy (and adults too).

Her journey was a about to begin, but first she - mind, a 100-something year old lady, smaller than Annie - put on her Rocket Shoes, packed her Space-Gravity Distortion Container with everything she needed, equipped her Bubble-Gun and finally set out.

For a while.

Then her money ran out, and instead of going back to her children to get more, she decided she would play one last scheme.
And who better to rip off than a government institution? The LEAGUE OF LEGENDS ;)

#Kit (without Stats)

  • First of all: She's ranged and has this Bubble-Gun as weapon. She holds it with 2 hands like a shotgun, or uses it as a walking-stick. It has 3 barrels and a tube that leads to a canister at the side of her Space-Gravity Distortion Container (a basket like, brown bag twice her size).
  • Now ...

Passive - Merchant:
Edga brings a new selection of consumable goods to the item shop, which can only be found under 'Consumables' and are for allies only to buy and use. The higher her level is the more items she unlocks. Additionally, her passive icon serves as an additional item slot for these new items only.

  • Level 1 - Prime-colored Rocket (35 gold) [works similar to Ashe's Hawkshot, its color depends on your trinket]
  • Level 5 - Purple Rocket (60 gold) [also reveals wards]
  • Level 8 - Ruckus Monkey (50 Gold) [works similar to Maokai's Saplings]
  • Level 13 - Elixir of Agility (300 Gold) [an Elixir]

Q - Bubble-Blast:
Edga passively stores up to one/two/three bubble charges. On cast, Edga channels quickly (she can still walk) and then fires a large bubble in a straight line. The first enemy unit it hits receives magic damage and is suspended. Then it bursts, dealing magic damage and slowing enemies around the bubble. If it does not hit an enemy, it floats about at max range, bursting after a few seconds or if an enemy champion walks into a stationary bubble (stationary bubbles are smaller) it bursts immediately as well. [Scales with AP and Mana]

W - Rocket Dash:
Edga dashes away to a target location. On cast, enemies in a small cone in front of her are slowed briefly.
If Edga hits an enemy champion or monster, she gains a one second Movement Speed increase after the dash ends.

E - Surprise Present!:
When an allied champion near Edga kills an enemy unit she restores a small amount of Health. This effect is negated when the ability is on cooldown. Passively, toys flash over Edga's bag in the following order: Fireworks, Teddy, Ruckus Monkey (the cycle repeats itself).
On first cast, she chooses the current toy (it locks in). On second cast she lunges and throws it at a target location (long cast animation).
The toys deal AoE magic damage where they land and each have different effects.

  • Fireworks: Most damage; explodes where it lands, pushing enemies away (stonger, smaller Ziggs Charge).
  • Teddy: Least damage; charms enemies hit to walk towards it.
  • Ruckus Monkey: Silences enemies hit and explodes after a few seconds, dealing additional damage and applying a short slow.

R - Sugar Rush:
Edga channels (she can still walk), eating a bunch of sweets and flushing it down with an energy drink, making her hyperactive for a given duration. During this time, she gains increased Movement Speed, has enhanced spells and receives reduced damage. Additionally, whenever she impairs an enemy champion's Movement or displaces them, allies in her Surprise Present range gain increased Attack Speed.

#Kit Discussion

Now, you may've noticed that she has a lot of Utility, but this does come at a price. For example her ...

#Stats
Range: 500 Health: 362 (+71 per level)
Health Regen: 4.5 (+0.5 per level)
Mana: 220 (+60 per level) Mana Regen: 6.5 (+0.5 per level) Attack Damage: 43 (+2.7 per level) Attack Speed: 0.579 (+1% per level) Armor: 13 (+3 per level)
Magic Resistance: 30 Movement Speed: 325

^The only 'good' stat she has is Mana, and only because I want to make Seraph's Embrace core on her. Her range and low Movement Speed make poking hard and her E more valuable. Her Health is low, meaning she has to buy a bunch of Health items to even hit her spells, or make use of her ultimate's damage reduction. She has (I think) the lowest Attack Speed in the game, with no Attack Damage to compensate, and her Armor isn't the highest either. Overall her stats are simply bad.

Then, her spells have ralatively low range:

  • Q: A bit further than Maokai's Arcane Smash. Smaller width than Nami's Bubble.
  • W: A bit shorter than Nidalee's swipe in width, but a bit longer in range (about 350; Annie's Incinerate is 650).
  • E: Ok, so this does have a long range, but a long cast animation, too. It also stops your Movement and the radius of impact is fairly small.
  • Passive: The rockets have 35 missile width and travel a forced 850 units at a quick pace before exploding and revealing about a 350 units range. The purple rocket doesn't reveal wards long enough to destroy them. Even Leona would only get two hits off. They're supposed to show you where to use your red-trinkets, or where not to walk.

AND her spells all have long cast animations or a channel. She has a channel on her Q, her main ability which she uses three times in a fight at short range, and she has a little bit longer channel on her ultimate. Her ultimate!

So I don't fear she wouldn't be balanced. Her many slows, CC, vision and buffs are justified and define her role profoundly. Which is...

#Gameplay

Primary Role: Support Secondary Role: Jungler

#Synergy

Marksmen:

Draven Draven, I imagine, would have the highest synergy with Edga. His dominant presence and high damage make him the focused target, and since his range is similar to Edga's, the two can get up close to enemies, allowing Edga to throw out her massive amounts of CC without being disturbed. Additionally, Edga grants Draven bonus damage with her ultimate, which grants Draven Attack Speed for 3 seconds or until he attacks once, massively increasing his burst damage. And since Dravens can usual farm very easily she has an ensured regeneration source (her E). Even if the two have problems in lane, Draven's Stand Aside (E) grants Edga a window of opportunity to hit at least on of her spells, and initiate the chain CC, granting them a sort of safety.
Lastly, her Elixir of Agility synergizes well with Marksmen.

Twitch Twitch, the two's playstle in lane would be more passive, but post-6 they could initiate bursts and assassinations that would simply delete even tanks of the enemies' team. Since Edga is so burst-able, enemies would be taunted to kill the poor old lady quick and swiftly. Her taunt is simply far worse than Teemo's. However, once they fall for it, she can dash into them, activate her ultimate to receive far less damage and trap them all in bubbles. Afterwards Twitch shows up and with the buffs Edga gives him eliminates the targets. Simple. Cold. Heartless ^^

Tanks: Nautilus Nautilus, while he is disrupting any sense of orientation the enemies have, Edga can safely make sure it stays that way.

#Struggles against

Marksmen: Caitlyn Caitlyn, her long range and traps shut down Edga's tactical warfare. Together with a melee Support (say Leona, Braum, Taric), they could make sure Edga never reaches them, and dies a horrible, 3-auto-attack death.

Jinx Jinx, for the same reasons as Caitlyn, just more EXCITED.

Sivir Sivir, her Spellshield, long-ranged poke and high mobility are the opposite of the weaknesses Edga capitalizes on.

Supports:

Janna Janna, her passive, defensive playstyle is the perfect counter to Edga's short range. She can shut down bursts and assassinations easily, and doesn't get close enough to grant Edga any kind of advantage.

Velkoz Vel' Koz, the poking machine. Edga doesn't have enough sustain to survive him. Assuming he hits his spells, that is.

#Kit (with stats and numbers and explanations. It's confusing.)

Passive - Merchant: Edga brings a new selection of consumable goods to the item shop, which can only be found under 'Consumables' and are for allies only to buy and use. The higher her level is the more items she unlocks. Additionally, her passive icon serves as an additional item slot for these new items only.

  • Level 1 - Prime-colored Rocket (35 Gold)
    • Passive: Holds 2 charges. When both are depleted the item is consumed.
    • Active: Consumes a charge to fire a 35-unit wide rocket 850 units in a target direction. The rocket grants sight of what visible it passes over and explodes at maximum distance, revealing a 350-unit radius for 1 seconds.
  • Level 5 - Purple Rocket (60 Gold)
    • Passive: Holds 2 charges. When both are depleted the item is consumed.
    • Active: Consume a charge to a fire a 35-unit wide rocket 850 units in a target direction. The rocket grants sight of what visible it passes over, but also reveals wards for 0.75 seconds. It explodes at maximum distance, revealing a 350-unit radius for 1 second.
  • Level 8 - Ruckus Monkey (50 Gold)
    • Click to consume: Places a wind-up Monkey to walk 700 units in a target direction. At max range the monkey claps about for 2 seconds. If it sees an enemy champion in its 700 units vision-radius at any time, it will follow that champion for 3 seconds instead, all the while granting vision of its surroundings.
  • Level 13 - Elixir of Agility (300 Gold)
    • On use, grants 20% Attack Speed and 10-20 Movement Speed for 3 minutes. The Movement Speed is increased by 50% in battle.

Q - Bubble-Blast:
Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 Mana | Cooldown: 0.5 seconds | Range: 750 | Width: A bit smaller than Nami's bubbles.

Passive: Every 14/13/12/11/10 seconds Edga gains a bubble charge. This amount is affected by Cooldown Reduction. She can store up to 1/2/3 bubble charges at skill levels 1/3/5.

Active: Edga channels for 0.5 seconds, consuming a charge. Afterwards she shoots a bubble out in a straight line that deals 65/90/115/140/165 (+25% AP) magic damage to the first enemy it hits and suspends the target for 1.25 seconds. Once the duration ends the bubble bursts, dealing an additional 20/30/40/50/60 (+15% AP)(+3% bonus Mana) magic damage in a 450-unit radius around the target and slowing enemies hit by 20% for 2 seconds. When hitting a suspended unit or a unit that just came out of suspension (2 seconds) with another bubble it bursts immediately instead, without dealing the suspension damage. However, the target hit takes 50% increased burst damage. If the bubble does not hit a unit, it floats about at max range for 2 seconds before bursting, and if an enemy champion walks into a stationary bubble it bursts immediately without dealing the suspension damage as well.

W - Rocket Dash:
Cost: 40 Mana | Cooldown: 18/17/16/15/14 seconds | Range: Dash 425, slow 325 | Width: 50° cone

Active: Edga dashes 425 units to a target location, facing where she dashed away from. On cast, enemies in a small cone in front of her receive 10 (+25% AP) and are slowed by 50% for 0.1 seconds. If she hits an enemy champion or monster, she gains 20/30/40/50/60% Movement Speed rapidly decaying over 1 second after the dash ends.

E - Surprise Present!: Cost: 80/90/100/110/120 Mana | Cooldown: 28/26/24/22/20 seconds | Range: 1150 | Width: depends on the toy.

Passive: If an allied champion within 950 units around Edga kills an enemy unit, Edga restores 4/7/10/13/16 (+1% AP) Health instantly. This effect is negated when the ability is on cooldown. Additionally, toys flash over Edga's backpack in the following order: Fireworks, Teddy, Ruckus Monkey. This cycle repeats itself until she activates the spell.

Active: First cast: Edga chooses the current toy over her backpack. She then has 4 seconds to cast the spell again before it goes on cooldown. Second cast: Edga throws the toy at a target location, dealing magic damage to enemies hit and applying the toys' bonus effects:

  • Fireworks: Has a 240 units radius. Deals 70/115/160/205/250 (+60/70/80/90/100% AP) magic damage and knocks enemies hit back a very short distance, then reveals them for 1.5 seconds.
  • Teddy: Has a 270 units radius. Deals 70/100/130/160/190 (+35% AP) magic damage and charms enemies hit to walk towards it for 0.75 seconds.
  • Ruckus Monkey: Has a 300 units radius. Deals 70/105/140/175/210 (+30% AP) magic damage and silences enemies hit while they stand in its range. After 2 seconds it explodes dealing an additional 20/30/40/50/60 (+10% AP) magic damage and slowing enemies hit by 15/20/25/30/35% for 1 second.

R - Sugar Rush:
Cost 150/125/100 Mana | Cooldown: 120/100/80 seconds

Active: Edga channels for 1.25 seconds, having 20% slowed Movement Speed while she does. Afterwards she gains 20/30/40% Movement Speed and damage reduction for 8 seconds. During this time, whenever she impairs an enemy champion's Movement with a spell or displaces them, she grants allies in a 1000 unit range 40/50/60% Attack Speed for 3 seconds or until they attack once (stacks up to 2 times).
Lastly, her Bubble Blast has no channel time, and her spells have quickened cast animations.

(I did state that I'd like Seraph's to be core on her, but I know she doesn't have enough low-cd spells to stack it quick enough, so I excluded it out of her items >.>)

Starting Items

item 3301 Why Ancient Coin?
Well, out of the three Support items I'd argue this is the best for her. She's too short ranged and not mobile enough to poke 24/7, meaning that Spellthief's Edge is out of question. And since she's ranged I'd generally not recommend the Relic Shield. However. Ancient Coin synergizes perfectly with her E and grants her the sustain she needs to balance out her weaknesses. It's simply the best way to safely get gold on her before getting strong enough to crush your enemies.
And also, the Ancient Coin builds into Talisman of Ascension, which'es Mobility is perfect for her. She might not even have to buy boots, then ^^

item 3341 Sweeping Lens
Edga always has a free slot for 2 Rockets. Even if she's obtained full build, has no warding trinket and no Sightstone she will be able to offer vision. The same can't be said the other way around. If she picks vision items her free slot becomes obsolete. Therefor, Sweeping Lens is a perfect purchase even early on. It works well with her Purple Rockets and makes her life safer, so she can't get ganked in the jungle, or poked in the brush when in lane.

#Skin Ideas

#Bittersweet Lulu Edga

With more witch-esque clothing and a dark forest theme she would perfectly fulfill the role of the Witch in the woods, with the house of sweets.
Her splash art could be in a house made of sweets. It's dark and you can see she's trapped Annie in a bubble in the background, while she's holding up Tibbers (as teddybear) triumphantly in the air. Next to her is an open furnace (she's about to throw him in).

#Knock Knock!

Vi Annoyance at the edge of her mind, Vi got up from her couch and went for the door. It'd been such a peaceful day off, but of course somebody had to ruin it. Was it Caitlyn? Was some fool in town she had to Assault and Batter? Or was it the League? She always felt like fighting, but those Yordles really were an annoying bunch. She could well use a day without them. Sighing, she opened up the door and stared at no-one.
Huh. A prank? She thought, ethically preparing to hit children, but then she looked down a bit a saw the tincy tiny, really old lady standing there with a childish red cart. Speak of the devil, she thought and mumbled "Of course I couldn't get a yorlde-free day off."

"I'm not a Yordle, young lady!" The lady suddenly shouted with a crooked voice. "And you really should work on that racism. It has no place in this day and age."

Wow, she's lively. And her hearing's still intact? Even though she looks like she'll just up and fall to dust any moment now?
"Good day. My name is ... uh ... Heimerdonglina?"

Is she asking me? Did she forget?

"From Heimerdinger Corp. If I could just have a moment of your time, young lady. I would like to introduce to you the newest hextechnological inventions and Zaunic brews."

A saleswoman? At that age?

"Uh, ok?" Vi answered, part fascinated, part confused about the strange persona in front of her doorstep.

"Well that's just splendid!" The woman exclaimed, suddenly much more polite. "I can see you're a strong woman-"

If she thinks she can compliment me into buyi-

"You probably work a lot," the lady went on, and Vi found herself nodding, "and you're basically radiating independence. I bet all of your friends adore you, want to be like you."

Oh, stop it, you, Vi thought and then suddenly shocked: No! Stop it Vi! Don't let her words confuse you! The Doughnut incident will not repeat itself!
Wait, is she expecting an answer? Quick! Say something!

"I do not recall." She answered blankly.

-Mental facepalm- You're not in a courtroom, Vi!

"Well, it's not that important then. But, I can assure you they do. Just look at yourself. So strong. I bet you even lift. But of course, such energy and business is very tiring, am I right?"

"Well, yeah. I am exhausted at the end of the day."

"And you have problems getting up in the morning, yes? You'd rather just lie in bed?"

Vi nodded and the lady turned to fetch something out of a box on her trolley.

"Well then I have just the thing for you," Heinerdonglina turned around and showed it to her, "the Ruckus Monkey."

It sooo ugly, Vi immediately thought. What the hell is that? A stuffed animal? But then what are the wires for? And the metal plates? And are those stains? From what?!

"In the morning, instead of falling right back asleep this little guy will just start clapping about, making a ruckus and forcing you to wake up."

Wait, she does know what an alarm clock is, right?

"Here, let me demonstrate."

The old lady started turning the key in the monkey's back. Vi didn't even have time to object. It just starting hitting the two metal plates together as loudly as possible. She held her ears and could see that passerbys were looking.

"As you can see," the old lady shouted, "It's extremely loud so there is no chance of you falling back asleep!"

"Can you turn it off?!" Vi shouted back.

"What?!"

Oh great, so she didn't hear that of course.

"Off. Can you turn it off?!" Vi tried again more slowly and saw the realization on the old lady's face.

"Ah, yes yes, of course, dear!" Heimerdonglina started fiddling about with the key on the back, but the monkey wouldn't stop. She looked worried and Vi feared this wouldn't end well. Next, she tried pulling out wires, but the monkey just kept on clapping on as loudly as possible. The woman was now visibly agitated and started hitting the monkey against Vi's house wall, completely ignoring her complaints. It took at least a dozen strong smacks before the thing finally shut up, and only because it (and the wall) were in pieces.

Vi just stared at the lady.

"Well, I supposed I'll have to pick that up with the uh ... with the manufacturer." The lady excused herself.

Yeah, you do that.

"But not to worry! I've got more things that're just perfect for you."

Smiling won't fix my wall.

The old lady turned around and started rummaging through her boxes again, before finally pulling out a green potion and presenting it to Vi.

"May I present, the Elixir of Agility. This Elixir is the newest brew of Zaun, popular all over. It rejuvenates your mind and body and grants you extra energy to get through the day. It's even been approved by the Institute of War and is being used in the League of Legends."

Vi stooped low to analyze the mixture more closely. It looked like the Elixirs she knew, and if it really was approved by the League, then what could be the harm?

"Huh, I could well use this on the job."

"Ah, and what is it that you actually do, young lady?"

"Me? Oh, I'm a cop." She answered the lady, smiling, but suddenly the other was gone. What?! Where'd she go? Vi stepped out of her door and looked left and right, but the only thing she saw was a Tumbleweed rolling through the empty street. Sure is windy today...

Fun lore, BUT THERE'S NO LEAGUE for her to ripoff. sadface.

Wouldn't Vi just rip the door out and use it as a weapon against anyone, or is she more "civilized" than that? Otherwise, nicely done, take a +1
