Well, now that Pyke is going to be released soon, here's my idea for an Assassin/Support
Champion Name: Acu'Lact Class: Assasin/Support General Stats: Very low durability, situationally high damage and mobility Affiliation: The Void Friends: Vel'Koz, Kha'Zix, Kassadin Rivals: Cho'gath, Kog'maw, Malzahar
Concept To create a support that is also an assassin, this is managed by the parasite theme of Acu'Lact. While she is connected with her host, she has abilities that are more supportive than when she is out of her host and she's so frail outside of a host that she's easy prey without a partner.
Appearance Acu'Lact should be mosquito like with a large emphasis on her proboscis and eye. She should have one large eye on the right side of her head while the left side of her head is made up of her giant proboscis, perhaps give her multiple proboscises. Should strangely have hair, which should be long and scraggly. References for appearance attached at the end.
Personality If I were to describe Acu'Lact in a word, it would be yandere. She is very possessive of those that are important to her, but is mostly benign otherwise. She is calculating, passionate, and a force to be reckoned with when it comes to her Host and her race. Another way to describe her would be that she is Neutral Evil, she is perfectly fine with agreeing to follow someone, kill an entire people, leave an entire city of people live in peace, or what have you, so long as it benefits her, her race, and her Host. Her name is derived from acumen which means "sharp point" and lact which means "to milk".
Abilities
R: Symbiosis Acu'Lact starts the game with this ability unlocked.
Active: Acu'Lact attaches herself to an allied champion, gaining new abilities, reduced auto-attack range and making them her Host, her Host gains 15% of Acu'Lact's AD, AP, Armor, MR, Health Regen, and Mana Regen (Increases by 5% for every rank in her R). If Acu'Lact's Host dies while she is still attached to them then Acu'Lact will recover 20% of her maximum health and gain the same buff, but based on her Host's stats and for twice the effect for 5 seconds.
10% of the damage that Acu'Lact's Host takes is instead dealt to her, and 5% of the damage her Host deals heals Acu'Lact. If Acu'Lact does not take damage from this effect when below 30% health.
Acu'Lact cannot use item actives while using Symbiosis.
Symbiosis Abandon Active: Acu'Lact detaches herself from her host.
P: Debilitate Acu'Lact's auto-attacks deal 5% of her target's missing health in physical damage. When using Symbiosis she instead deals 5% of her target's current health in physical damage.
Q: Hatch Active: Acu'Lact signals for her eggs lain by ‘Volley Latch’ to hatch, dealing minor true damage to the target they were attached to. The newly spawned children then home in on any other enemy champions near them (Prioritizing those with the lowest health) and dart through them, dealing X magic damage that increases by 1% for every 1% of their target's missing health.
Symbiosis Volley Latch Active: Acu'Lact launches an egg in an arc, attaching to any enemy unit it hits when it lands. The egg saps the target's attack speed by X% and deals X magic damage over 2 seconds. These eggs can be stacked on the same target, additively increasing the attack speed slow and lasting for 10 seconds. Volley Latch's projectile speed increases the closer it is aimed near Acu'Lact and has its cooldown reduced the lower her Host's health is.
W: Blood Thirst > Passive: When an enemy champion within X units is below 40% of their maximum health, Acu'Lact gains greatly increased attack speed and movespeed when moving towards them.
Symbiosis Adrenaline Rush Active: Acu'Lact injects a surge of adrenaline into her Host, giving them increased Attack Speed and CDR for 4 seconds. This boost ignores the Attack Speed and CDR cap.
E: Skewer Bite > Active: Acu'Lact launches herself forward, impaling the first enemy unit she hits, she then sucks the life out of the enemy, dealing continuous magic damage to them over the next 2 seconds and healing her for X amount. This damage is increased by 1% for every 1% of the enemy's missing health.
Symbiosis Active: Acu'Lact launches a needle that damages the first enemy it hits for a percentage of their current health in magic damage and applies a .3 second root. This ability can be used 4 more times over 6 seconds and increases her host's damage by X% to a target hit by at least 3 needles.
Kit explanation Should have very poor base stats except for her mana and health regen. This is to encourage players to use her as a support and means in order to make use of the stat bonus she provides her host that she needs to choose what she wants them to gain and must itemize it herself.
Her passive is simple, it is meant to encourage her to start a fight from within her host to deal maximum damage with her autos and to then leave her host near the end of a fight to finish off low health targets.
Her Q requires prep time, it reduces the attack speed of the enemy it hits to help her host with dueling and by skillful aiming, it can stack up to a very large slow. It fires faster and has a lower cooldown when her host is low on health so that if an enemy is right on top of her host, she can apply the debuff faster to prevent her host's death. The non Symbiosis part is a another ability that is meant to be an execute and thanks to it seeking out low health targets, Acu'Lact can sneak her eggs onto a tank that's peeling for a carry and then activate them to kill that carry if the tank isn't paying attention.
Her W is meant to be a simple steroid, she gains increased movespeed and attack speed when facing low heath targets, this makes her good at chasing after low health enemies after a fight and finishing them off. I did not add a vision component to her W because I wanted to both differentiate it from Warwick's E and to add a danger to chasing someone blindly since you won't know if you're running into a trap. The active while using Symbiosis is also a simple steroid, the reason for it ignoring the Attack Speed and CDR caps is so Acu'Lact always has a reason to use this steroid for someone.
Her E is a finishing attack while not using Symbiosis; it also can help her survive an enemy that still has a bit of fight left in them by healing her. Her Symbiosis E is her CC ability and is meant to more stagger the enemy from running to allow her host to keep up with them and whittle them down and it rewards hitting the enemy a lot by increasing the damage her host deals to them.
Her R is her bread and butter, the thing that really defines her. Because of how dangerous it is to place two champs in the same location and because they are ostensibly the same unit, Acu'Lact gives her host a percentage of her own stats, this is balanced out early game by the fact that she has low base stats which means most of the stats she gives will be decided by what Acu'Lact builds.
She could build AD to increase the damage of her carry but Acu'Lact's abilities scale with AP, so she would be less effective at her assassination. You could build nothing but defenses to make your carry more durable, but again, it doesn't help your assassination abilities. There should be a general cost to choosing to build one stat or the other on Acu'Lact.
The buff upon death is meant to encourage Acu'Lact to stick with her host to the end and a portion of the damage dealt to her host being dealt to her allows for people to not feel frustrated about Acu'Lact being untargetable while using Symbiosis but if her Host is skilled then they should be dealing enough damage to make up for this.
Thinking that attack range could be something like 500 normally but go down to 250 when using Symbiosis.
Lore Acu'Lact's race was one in dire straights, what once was the cleverest and most wide spread of the Void's denizens, their ability to empower and give guidance to their hosts had unnecessary to many of the Void' inhabitants due to them growing smarter and stronger, to the point that few of them needed such a partnership.
This all changed when some of Acu'Lact's children came to her with a dying human that has been warped to the Void. This human was Kassadin's daughter, Acu'Lact decided to save the girl by having one of her children join with the girl, and thanks to the empowering aspect of her race, her life was saved.
Acu'Lact's child then told her of Kassadin's daughter's memories, about the things she knew and about Runeterra. After learning about Runeterra, Acu'Lact decided that she and her children would travel there and make a new, easier life there.
Kassadin, about two weeks after the incident that caused him to lose his daughter, suddenly felt a powerful flux of Void energy at his location and then a portal opened up and his daughter fell from it. He of course ran to her to see if she was okay but then found that the taint of the Void was on her, and then a swarm of Void creatures, Acu'Lact's children, came rushing out of the portal.
Kassadin was about to attack them when Acu'Lact herself arrived and spoke to him, staying his hand. She explained to him that hi daughter was only alive now and would only continue to live thanks to her and her race, she then made a deal with him. In exchange for her child continuing to keep Kassadin's daughter alive Acu'Lact only desired two things from him, that he not hunt or harm her race in any way and that he help her and her race keep the Void from invading Runeterra.
Color Text Peace... peaceful is our slumber, the calming stillness of this dreaming world soothes us. It is only here that we can go back to the time when life was easier for us, when our children and Friends had food of plenty. It was all softer then. Only our Friends and children may reach us here, only their voices bring us lucidity and that but enhances the reverie.
We remember when we were younger. But I did not yet live. Our foolish sisters were so careless, so frivolous with their children and their Friends. But not you, you guarded us jealously. No, no, not us, we were careful, yes, we were wise and careful...
Our children are so hungry now... Oh my children, do not cry for your aching bellies. But what about MY belly? We shall all get through this time, we will not allow us to fade, of that we promise. And every promise has been kept.
...But what is this? We hear our children. They are excited. They have found something new. It is something... soft...
We open our eye to the blinding darkness of the Void, "Come to us our children, show us what you have found." And so they do, they bring before us something small and frail. It looks delicious. It is dying. We recognize what causes it pain, it suffers from being brought to the Void. But it can still yet live if you bond..... No, we shall give this new Friend to one of our children, and they shall tell us what they are.
It is the work of a moment, what had become painful for Friend and hard for us was so fast with this Friend. I have never seen this...Our child bonds with our new Friend and lets known their joy at their acceptance of them, they strengthen their Friend, mending what was shattered and healing what was shredded. Like you did with us so long ago. They then tell us of about our new Friend, of how they came to the Void, of our Friend's father and how he fights those that now shun us, and of where they come from...
The visions our child gives us fill us with strength. This is our chance. Her home is like our past. The food is everywhere. Yes... we shall go to this place, we shall make this our new home, we shall once again thrive, in this place called Runeterra.
Dialogue Select Quote "Ooohhh... yessssss.... we shall be greaaaat......."
When her Host dies. "How dare you!.... HOW DARE YOU!!!"
Taunting an enemy Cho'Gath. "You!..... Even if you are here, the Void will not have this place. It is ours! OURS!" Should speak in a scared but passionate voice.
Taunting an enemy Kassadin. "Why do you raise your barbs at us Void Walker? Our goals are the same, and without us your child will wither away." Should have a quizzical, not manipulative tone.
Various images for an idea of look
So I designed this and other champions when I was trying to get a job at Riot right after I finished my game design college but I was turned down. I'm posting it here now so I can actually share some of them and because I wanted to express what I think is wrong with Pyke's design. You will no doubt have many criticisms of her abilities but one thing I think I certainly accomplished with this kit is that it is inherently a support's kit. Unlike Pyke, Acu'Lact does not work without someone else, she is truly a support because of how her kit works and not just because of numbers.
Feel free to criticize the kit, but please also say how you would IMPROVE upon the kit too. If you don't like her passive then follow up by saying what kind of passive you think would work better, that sort of thing.
