IronStylus has been crowd sourcing ideas for a new look for Taric. It would seem he's getting a visual overhaul. It could come with a kit change, it might not.
it has been announced by riot in both patch notes and in other statements to the public that Taric is in fact due for a Visual update and complete kit overhaul this should be coming out soon however they are struggling with deciding what role he should fill and how much of a kit overhaul he needs. They announced it might be something Sion size however the consensus on the subject in both the community and in riot has been that he might not need a kit overhaul of that measure and that he does in fact fill a tank/fighter support role pretty well but fails in comparison to even semi mobile champions as he lacks the ability to catch them with a slow movement speed and no real closer skill. Possible solutions have been proposed on the matter and one is that his w be changed to a passive skill that grants armor to allies for him existing and his w be changed so that shatter is now a linear skillshot that can be put on either terrain champions minions monsters or structures still lowering armor values but allowing for a second cast that telports him to the first target hit. (ie poro toss) which was a test for such a skill but instead of dealing true damage it lowers armor/magic resist of the target and slows them.
