I've had a thought about a Malphite mini rework for the sake of satisfactory gameplay outside ult.

I've come up with a few small changes to his passive and q that I think will make him feel better to play when he doesn't have his ult.

Malphite - Mini Rw

GRANITE SHIELD (PASSIVE) Malphite is shielded by a layer of rock which absorbs damage up to 10% of his maximum Health. If Malphite has not been hit for 10/8/6 seconds, this effect recharges.

If not hit by a champion, large or epic monster for 30/24/18 seconds will secondarily gain a physical shield for (+ 1 armour) health. This shield does not recharge until broken and does not apply to brutal strikes.

TEUTONIC SHIFT (Q) Cooldown: 11/10/9/8/7 Cost: 40/45/50/55/60 Mana Range: 700/200/350 Malphite creates and then shifts the Teutonic plates in a target direction from himself (like a skillshot) creating terrain that that lasts 0.75 seconds.

He then spreads the plates apart releasing lava that slows enemies by 30/35/40/45/50%, and deals 100/125/50/175/200 (+ 0.9 ap) plus 5% of the enemies max health in damage over 2.25 seconds to all enemies in the area while speeding up Malphite by 15/17.5/20/22.5/25% while running over it.

BRUTAL STRIKES (W) Cooldown: 12 Cost: 25 Mana Range: 400 Passive - Rock Solid: Malphite's armor is increased by 10/15/20/25/30% . While Granite Shield is active, this bonus is tripled to 30/45/60/75/90%. Active: Basic attacks deal an additional 15/30/45/60/75(+0.1 ap) (+0.15 armour) physical damage to the target and nearby enemies. Lasts 6seconds.

GROUND SLAM (E) Cooldown: 7 Cost: 50/55/60/65/70 Mana Range: 400 Malphite slams the ground dealing 60/95/130/165/200 (+0.4 armour)(+0.2 ap)magic damage to surrounding enemies, reducing their Attack Speed by 30/35/40/45/50% for 3seconds.This ability gains damage equal to 40% of Malphite's Armor.

Unstoppable Force (R) Cooldown: 130/115/100 Cost: 100 Mana Range: 1000 Malphite charges to target area. Upon his arrival he deals 200/300/400 (+1)magic damage to nearby enemies and knocks them into the air for 1.5seconds.

The passive seems fine, and the W seems fine save for the screen shake (in a game where precision cursor placement matters, that's a bad idea).

The Q, however, is a bit problem.

It's a stun + slow + terrain + movement speed + max health damage in an AoE with a base damage of 350 + 120% AP + 25% Armor on a 7 second cooldown. It simply has too many moving parts and weird mechanics, most of them so short as to be merely frustrating (0.75 seconds of terrain combined with a microstun). It's in desperate need of simplification, and probably some rebalancing.
