PITCHFORKS DOWN!

Stray concept that passed through while reading a topic about the Shen rework.

Name: Gilgamesh

Role: Tank lane: Jungle

Base stats: Health: High base, moderate per level gain. Armor/MR: low base, high per level gain. AD: High base, very low per level gain. AS: High base, Very low per level gain Resource: Modified fury bar.

Passive: Retaliation When ever Gilgamesh takes damage, 5% is converted to fury (pre-mitigation). 10% for champions, large jungle mobs, and super minions. Gilgamesh revives with a full fury bar. Champions, Large jungle mobs, and super minions that damage Gilgamesh become marked for 5 seconds.

Q: Juggernaut Fury: 10 Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10 Active: Gilgamesh Dashes rapidly to target location dealing physical damage based on his max health to all enemies he collides with. If he hits a marked target, they take bonus magic damage and the cooldown is reduced by half.

W: Reinforce Fury: 30 Cooldown: 11/9/7/5/3 Gilgamesh's next AA deals Bonus physical damage equal to his combined Armor and Magic resist [resets AA timer]. If Gilgamesh attacks a marked target, he heals for double the bonus damage. Bonus damage is increased by 50% against Jungle mobs.

E: Challenge Fury: 20 Cooldown: 20/19/18/17/16 Gilgamesh throws a spear [linear collision skill shot] that deals low magic damage and pierces minions (AP scaling). The first champion it hits is slowed by 10/20/30/40/50%. If It hits a marked target, all nearby enemies are knocked away from it.

R: Otter Suplex Fury: 0 Cooldown: 200/150/100 Gilgamesh becomes CC immune and dashes a great distance in target direction. Upon colliding with an enemy champion he grabs them and jumps into the air [suppression, removal from the map]. After 3 seconds he and the enemy champion come crashing back down at target nearby location dealing 200/400/600 physical damage (does not scale). If the enemy champion was marked, the mark is refreshed and Gilgamesh's fury bar is filled. If the Suppression is cleansed or Gilgamesh dies during the "air time", they immediately land at their initial location and Otter Suplex deals half damage.

Notes:

  • The lvl 18 assassination pattern should be: E -> Q -> W -> R -> W -> Q
  • Gank pattern should be: Q -> R -> W -> E
  • I debated between giving Reinforce an immediate shield instead of a situational heal, but I want the character to be reactive in combat which fit better with the heal.
  • With 40% CDR, Q can achieve a 3 second cooldown when hitting marked targets. It's not meant to be his primary damage dealing skill but could be interesting with a few Warmogs. . .
  • His lvl18 AD and AS should be on the low end; they start high to help with jungle clears.
  • If you think the ult looks familiar, it probable does. If it doesn't look familiar, I'm sorry you missed out.

Seems like a great idea but the name should be revised...

Gilgamesh sounds a bitt off since it refers to a well known human being who existed while this is a fantasy universe with non-real life related stuff (except for skins which basicaly is their trademark).

Maybe one of his skins could refer to Gilgamesh.

Do you have any idea on any mythology/fantasy universe it could relate too?

Plus you haven't developped a back story for it.

Some suggestions:

-Could be related to Mount Targon since the guy seems to be a brawler type of fighter who thrives in combat and wants to die in its glory. -Could be related to Zaun. We saw a juggernaut type of champion in Ekko's trailer. It could be him.

Gilgamesh is actually a story character. The epic of Gilgamesh is considered the oldest known epic dating back to Akkadian times. But the name will come with the back story. It was the first thing to come to mind.

I'll get back to the back story after I get in my win of day. Still have to brain storm that part. (>_>) Targon might be an option, though I don't really imagine them producing a lot of tanks. The receive and return play-style of his kit seems to lend it's self to a more "honorable" mentality than I imagine from Zaun. Demacia has no shortage of Juggernauts already. Ionia maybe?

I have yet to see a non skinny Ionian (think Shen, Yi, Irelia, Akali, Zed, Karma). Mount Targon would be the best bet because combat is a honor for them. The fight itself is an honor.

There is nothing more glorious than fighting. Eck, their ceremony of ages is a death battle (only a weapon no armor) between 2 kids who just got into adulthood.

Even one of Pantheon's main catch phrases is Honor compels me
