Passive - Furious Beat: Effect Radius: 650 Somnus’ basic attacks and abilities mark enemy champions and large monsters with Beat, for 4 seconds, stacking up to 6 times. The nearest ally gains AS over 4 sec when they damage a unit with Beat stacks. Final casts of abilities consume Beat Stacks On Target CD: 14 Allied bonus AS: 10/15/20/25/30%(+x% Somnus Attack Speed + stacks) per sec
Hidden Passive: Hitting units creates higher or lower pitched notes based on max HP
Q - Bass Beat: Active: Throws a mallet in the target direction, dealing physical damage to the first target struck. Consuming Beats surrounds the unit in flaming resonating echoes for 4 secs, dealing damage per sec and applying a stack of Beat to nearby units. Landing Bass Beat against a unit with 3 Beat stacks stuns them for a short duration. CD: 11 Range: 800 Effect Radius: 325 Stun Duration: 0.5 (+ 0.25 per Beat Stack)
W - Reverb Beat: Passive: Every three auto-attacks the nearest Ally’s damage or Bass Beat triggers Somnus’ last Area of Effect again, increasing the radius and max duration by 50% (up to 100%). Ramp Up: Somnus and the nearest ally gains bonus MS for 4 sec, increased in Beat AoEs
Reverb Beat may be re-activated at no cost until the ability duration ends.
Soundwave: Somnus projects a line of flaming soundwaves towards the mouse, dealing damage to all enemies struck. At the end of its range or upon hitting terrain it bounces backwards. At the end of the duration Somnus sends out a Nova of 3 (+ Nearby Beat stack #) sound waves.

E - Fervor Burn: Somnus’ next basic attack has 50 (+ 10% MS) bonus range bonus range and reduces target resistances, as he flips a mallet into the air for up to 2.5 sec.
The next basic attack recasts Fervor Burn if at least 1.5 seconds after the first. Somnus jumps unstoppably, dealing bonus damage increased by his missing health up to a 100% increase at 25% Max Health, if the target has three beat stacks. Both casts reset the attack timer.
CD: 7 Resistance Reduction: 10/14/18/22/26%
R - Crucible of Sound: FIRST CAST: Somnus shields himself for up to 8 seconds creating a ring around him slowing enemies for 2 seconds, and ability effects to all allies while the shield persists. After 3 seconds, it can be reactivated to detonate the shield, detonating automatically if it persists for the full duration. SECOND CAST: The shield detonates dealing magic damage and granting allies damage reduction. Shield Strength: x/x/x/x/x(+40% bonus HP) Damage Reduction: x/x/x/x/x (+% = 10%shield HP) Slow: 20% (+ current Bonus AS%) Radius: 500-550
Design Philosophy Meant to be a fun champion that can go into many roles and also serves to make the support roster more interesting. Wanna build Tanky go tanky, wanna build AS, go AS, wanna build AD, go On-Hit, wanna spam abilities, build mana and CDR (essence reaver and manamune). Just having fun is the goal of this kit, supporting should be as fun as any other role.

Biography Throughout the world of Runeterra there is a well-known spirit. Many have seen the effects that it has on men and women, but know not of its origin. It ravages through people in rage, in combat as they enter a battle fervor, exhausting tasks, and when death flashes before their eyes. Sometimes this spirit saves them giving them a vital boost in energy to push through, sometimes it causes them to use up their life’s essence to the last drop. It is seen as a curse and blessing by many. Among the Serpent Isles the origin of this state of losing consciousness to enter this state is known as the work of a spirit attracted to the expenditure of energy, and it has a name. When the Islanders engage in battle, or perilous task they have learned to appoint a Drummer to take on the burden of channeling this spirit so its effect is not so strong on others. The Spirit of Adrenaline was like a consuming flame, if not controlled and corralled within the crucible of the Drum, the beat of energy from the spirit would consume the essence of the fighters spirits, as they entered the battle fervor. They would lose themselves, becoming consumed and die, not aware of the injuries they had sustained, or exhausting their own spirit. Somnus was such Spirit Drummer, who trained his whole life to ascend above his forefathers in his duty. He became renowned for traveling among the islands; taking to the field of combat among his brothers and sisters in arms, against pirates, sea serpent spawn storms, and the Harrowing alike; He channeled the spirit’s essence through the bulk of his own body rather than a drum. Beating out a constant rhythm for days without rest even when his arms screamed to rest, long after many other spirit drummers would have shifted out or fallen from exhaustion, he continued knowing his warriors relied on him to empower them and keep the spirits flaming energies in check, and he endured the burns that covered his arms in their stead. Most drummers retired before they would have become hollow burned out husks for playing at the rate and fervor he did. To be a drummer was to risk the full force of the spirit meant for tens of men, it was why they trained extensively to handle the burden no one should have handled alone even for short periods of time. But Somnus played harder and longer than his warriors fought, attracting the spirit to himself, and the harder he played the more in rhythm he burned with the spirit’s smoldering energies until he could unleash them at will with a single note. Drummers who lost control where consumed by their duty to drum endlessly and even twenty men could not wrest the drum from the drummer nor slow their feverish beat. They became abandoned as many feared the built up energy would explode from them when they died from exhaustion. Many feared this would happen to Somnus, but he was troubled not by his potential future, but that it existed for others. Somnus couldn’t bear to occasionally pick up the the muted beats of these accursed drummed doomed to swelter in the heat of their unending tasks in the distance, it tugged at his heart. When he could bear it no more he approached a recently condemned Drummer, known as Osaka. As he approached, the shear force of the blazing soundwaves themselves nearly overwhelmed nearly pulled his feet from underneath him. The beat was insistent, its rhythms complex, and demanded action. Each beat tugged at Somnus’ very muscle fibers. His limbs yearned to move without him command, and it was almost a moment too late before he realized in fact against his subconscious commands. The music was beginning to drown out all his thoughts, he began to yell chants against the music just maintain a semblance of self control. “Be prepared take hold. Reach out… Let your adrenaline abound high above. We rise to the challenge. Always. It is done!!!” But it was the sight of the glazed bulging eyed man, gaunt from starvation, skin, ligament and bone for legs, and sinewy muscled arms, that steamed from innumerable burns, that broke his will. The air wavered around him from the heat he gave off even in the tropical heat. No man deserved to be left to this. The adrenaline of innumerable men gripped his soul as he raised his mallets. The ensuing beat could be clearly heard from nearby islands. The notes of two drummers furiously filled the sky. Their music intertwined so tightly and quickly it became the sound of one drum. The rhythm rose and fell in speed, building to loud singular repetitive beats like that of a heart, that Somnus felt more with his body than his ear that had long since been caked with blood from rupturing. Finally Osaka slowly raised his arms preparing a mighty bass note. What followed was a sound so deafening his very core split with pain. Silence. Osaka’s arms fell to his sides, in a dangle of skin and muscle like loose thread. He sat there his breath barely a shiver in his chest. Shakily his head rose from his drum to Somnus his eye’s beginning to wash clear with tears. He didn’t need words to express his gratitude to be able to feel exhaustion, before he collapsed. Yet, Somnus felt no exhaustion only the power of Adrenaline still coursing through him, and the feeling of salt water in his eyes. The Islanders have a name for accursed Drummer’s, those who burn themselves out. These people are all but consumed in their fervor, and have lost the will to do anything else. But they will have to come up with a new name for Somnus.
