[Champion Concept] Maladect, Derrum's Warlock
Good day everyone. BowietheNifty here to bring you another champion concept. This time I got an original one for you all here. The one in particular today I have been working on for quite a long awhile. Then again I can say that for every one of my original concepts. However this one I have been giving a precursor about for a long time as well. I tend to get distracted with different projects all the time so this is nothing new. Basically this is a character that is sort of my take on a dark mage. So expect to see some nasty effects with this one. After all, evil never plays fair and it aims to win. Anyways if you enjoy this concept or have any sort of questions, I always enjoy feed back. Whether it is good feed back or not. Without further adieu lets get onto the concept.
Maladect, Derrum's Warlock

Maladect is a dark, but pale skinned human. It is what happens when a person doesn't see the light of the sun for long periods of time. Due to this if he ever has to travel during the day, he will always be wearing a hooded robe. His robes are reminiscent to Noxus's banner as it is his home. He does wear bits and pieces of armor for his own protection, though not enough to be a strain on his body. Always by his side is his Dark Book. It always seemed to be drawing in energy from the world around it as a shadow aura dwells from it.
Lore (Brief Short Lore) Maladect is a Noxian mage who secretly was raised by the Black Rose sense he was a boy. He is a conjurer of the dark arts who has claimed the town of Derrum as his own. While having the town under his control, he used the location to test the limits of dark magic all together. Having no one to oppose him, he mastered his malicious spells and eventually created the Dark Book that he uses today. Now he seeks to take control of more of the land with the power he holds.
(Long Lore) In the main city of Noxus was where Maladect was born, but under a different name. Being a young child of one of the authoritative families, he would of been groomed to become a snobby noble. However the ones watching the city from the shadows had different plans for the boy. It seemed the child had an affinity towards magic, a very powerful one at that. The Black Rose decided to take advantage of this situation for their own benefit. One day the families child would report their son dying due to severe sickness to the public. Though this was only a ruse to have the child inducted into the Black Rose. On that day his old name was stripped away and Maladect would be given in its place.
Being under the Black Rose, Maladect would be taught magic and how to use it. Of course none of it was for the benefit of mankind. In fact he would be taught the darker forms of magic, ones based on malice, hate, deceit, pain, and death. The child’s mind would be twisted over the years, manipulated to serve the Black Rose and to hold power over others. While he did take to the magic like a fish in water, he became rather adept at it. The spells he was taught all soon became child’s play was the boy grew. This was both a blessing for the order and a problem. The fact that he was so proficient with the dark arts made them fear that he might take total control over the order. They would put restraints on the boy as a precautionary measure to stop his growth in power.
The young man wouldn’t enjoy this at all. Maladect had a wandering mind. To him, magic was an enigma and he wanted to learn every aspect of it. With the restraints in place, he was forbidden to indulge in his ambition. This however didn’t stop the boy from trying. He tried to do it subtly, but the Black Rose had eyes everywhere. When trying to expand on the power of the dark arts and its spells, he would always end up getting caught. Harsh and cruel punishments were dished out immediately in order to put him in his place. Eventually the mage would wisen up and forgo any future attempts to experiment. However this didn’t stop him from plotting and waiting for him to seek his ambition.
Years have passed, and Maladect acted in place like he was told. Any orders given would be executed just like was told. He would earn good merits within the Black Rose and eventually went up through the ranks. Being a full grown man at this point, he had established plenty of authority within the order. His waiting was soon about to be over. Now what he planned wouldn’t exactly put him against his comrades, he knew better to go against them. After he knew what they were capable of, and he didn’t want a death wish. Instead one day he purposed something to the counsel. He wished to expand the influence of the Black Rose to the outer limits of Noxus’s borders. He himself wished to do so alone with the consent of the Rose. He played to the orders desires, and he got what he wished for. They allowed him to leave the grand city while under their watchful eye to perform his suggested task. Maladect set out rather quickly knowing that he would be able to do that and more.
Eventually the dark mage would make it to a small town near one of Noxian borders. Maladect would be pleased at the location as it was one of the farthest locations from the grand city. In fact the place was much like a little farmer’s village and mostly ignored by the capital. Derrum would become his new home. Now he decided to simply take what he needed from the town. Matching up without a care he ventured to the small castle of the towns noble. There would slaughter the owner and everyone inside. They were no match for the magic that he possessed. It overlooked Derrum being a symbol of his new reign over the town, and it gave him privacy to boot. After that the mage started to experiment with the dark arts and his control over the town would play in the palm of his hand. Of course he didn’t act as a governor or leader, as the people were able to do what they pleased as he would leave them be most of the time. Though if Maladect would ever want something from the people, there would be nothing that got in his way. The people would come too soon fear their new overlord, but couldn’t without anything from him due to his power. They feared him, but they had no idea that now they were under the control of the Black Rose. The order would be pleased with his impressive progress.
Over the years, Maladect would keep in solitude for the most part. He would experiment with the dark arts of magic. It allowed him to grow stronger, and feed his never ending ambition for the knowledge. With the help of the order, he even eventually started to dig up some interesting findings. He managed to find magic on life and death from the Shadow Isles in which he decided to use for his own plans. With the magic in toe he would resurrect the old spirits of the castle to become his new servants. After all he was one to grant even more punishment to those who opposed him in the past. What a perfect way then to bring them back into ever lasting servitude. Though one of his biggest ones was bridging the gap between worlds, being able to pull creatures of other worlds into his own. This would bring into being his most powerful creation, The Dark Book.
The Dark Book, is Maladect’s own personal spell book. Having it for many years, it has a collection of spells that the Warlock he uses at his whim. Mainly it’s use was to house the knowledge of the dark mage for the longest time. Soon though it became a way to contain a creature summoned from a world of shadow. He managed to draw in a creature who seemed to be made of darkness. One that was an amorphous being holding little to no defined shape. The only thing that was distinguishable about the creature was its ridged teeth and its glowing blue eyes. It was a ravenous beast as it tried to devour whatever it could in its path. As well it seemed very resistant to magic, which made it difficult for the sorcerer to deal with. While it did creature a mess of the castle, Maladect managed to contain the monstrosity and bound into the pages of his book as a last resort.
His spell book wasn’t the same after that. It would seem to draw in magic from the world and feed on it. The creature inside the book was indeed powerful to have influence on the outside world. It would only be a matter of time before the creature would be able to break free from its seal. However Maladect decided to learn more about the beast as it peaked it curiosity. He would run experiments, allowing the beast out temporally to test the effects of various magics upon it. Eventually he found out he was able to control the beast as much as it was a pet. Simply he was able to domesticate it by feeding it magic, and it started to listen to him. Though he would keep it on a leash being tied to the dark book as it did tend to want to eat more than just the magic provided. Still the creature along with the book became a powerful weapon for the mage. While he was already a source of fear before, he became a threat to many. Now he plans to expand even further beyond Noxus’s borders. Not only for the sake of the Black Rose, but for the power and control he has been craving over many years.
Roles Primary: Mage (Battle Mage) Secondary: N/A
Maladect is a battle mage who specializes at being an Anti Caster. He flourishes against opponents who are constantly putting out spells, and doesn't rely on silences to do so. In fact a good chunk of his power comes from other champions ability to cast spells and he uses this to strength his own. While he does lack mobility, he can definitely out put a load of damage to those who stick around too long.

Interactions (WIP coming soon)
So this has been a long time coming, but I hope you all enjoyed reading up on Maladect here. This dark mage has quite the bit of power to put on the rift. Don't be afraid to leave a comment down below on what you like or how I can improve on this caster. After all any feed back is good feed back. As well I have a list of champions that could use more feed back as well, even if some are years old. Still would appreciate them being looked over if anyone is curious. Anyways for my next concept, I am going to have you all decide. So there is going to be a poll below for the next concept, with brief descriptions for each. I will be back with updates when I can, so I hope you all have a good day in the meantime.
