Colin, The ecstatic Warlord (Work in progress, scalings still need to be thought out)
A lot of people have been asking for an AD support character and I've been thinking about how that would work out. Attack damage is rarely used for anything other than damage, so how would an AD support function? Course there was one thing that came to mind when I thought of an AD support: Leaders. People who charge into battle on the frontlines, standing side by side with their soldiers. Their charisma and confidence inspiring them to fight harder. So concept wise a "Warlord" champion who inspires allies through Charisma and Tactics seems pretty interesting.
This what I have for his kit so far. All subject to change and I need to figure out the scalings. I'm thinking mainly AD scalings with maybe one AP scaling ability.
Colin: The Ecstatic Warlord AD Support/Assassin Passive: Awe inspiring Presence: 10/15/20% of his bonus AD is given to allied champions within X number of feet. Q: "EXAMPLE!" (As in he's giving an example) Targeted ability: deals damage and increases allies attack damage against that target. W: Unnamed. AoE buff: Gives allies 25/50/75% reduction to CC. High cooldown. E: Unnamed. Targeted: Targets enemy champion, dashes and gains 5/10/15/20/25% of their bonus AD in attack damage. Can target allies. Cannot target minions. Ultimate: Channel: AoE field that buffs Ally attack damage (scaling to be determined) and debuffs enemy attack damage. Must hold down the button to keep channeling and cannot move or use any other abilities while doing so. The field increases in size the longer it is channeled, starting from Jarven's ult size and ending in Kindred's W active size (I don't know their numbers).
Weapon: Uses a Horseman’s Pick. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f9/Polish_Horseman's_picks_from_XVII_century.PNG/166px-Polish_Horseman's_picks_from_XVII_century.PNG
Other idea for W: “Grit your teeth!” Champion knocks target champion in pointed direction. Enemy champion hit have their movement speed slowed by 10/20/30/40/50% for .5/.75/1/1.5/2 seconds. Targeted allied Champion hit has any debuff and CC removed if applied. Damage scaling to be determined. Other Passive idea: Basic attacks only apply 50% of bonus AD.
Ideas that I'm not sure how to form: I think he should have an ability that encourages hitting creatures. Something that gives bonuses to Allies but he has to be smart in not stealing the CS.
Thoughts? I'm a little sparse for a lot of details due to lack of time at the moment. Will fill more later.
Edit: Got more time now. So the direction I was hoping to go is a support that synergies well with burst and isn't a tank. ADC's like
and maybe
are those I'm hoping to work well with. Preferring bonuses to damage rather than attack speed. Because he's mostly AD based in buffs and damage, he'd thrive well and be a good counter against AD heavy teams (mainly with how his ultimate reduces enemy AD). Course AD heavy teams are not really a good thing, but there are a bunch of champions that work well against certain comps (
and
for example are great against AP).
I'd probably give his abilities a low scaling since one is a displacement and a slow, another is a dash that's basically an offensive Braum jump that can be used on allies and enemies, and his main damaging one is more meant to provide a weaker target for allies. If he has poor scalings in his abilities, he'll mainly have to focus on buying AD items to be effective (
and
for example, items that are straight AD rather than attack speed) so I'm hoping to balance him around high item costs (which might be a stupid idea).
Sadly I can't say I'm thinking of any original mechanics that are not in game yet. I guess his ultimate could also effect minions. My roommate came up with the ultimate, and beyond the other W idea (Which a lot of people could hate because it can be used for trolling) I'm not sure what I'd like to keep. I guess the dash because his normal combo would be, E-Q-W to knock the enemy carry over to his teammate.
