Can we make it so in order to Up/down vote threads in this section you need to post a comment on it?

Too many people just down voting concepts without a reason. The people who post ideas here (myself included) want actual feedback. Just a random down vote doesn't do anything to help.

But sometimes the comment doesn't actually give feedback. If someone says "This is dumb" that's no more helpful than a downvote. In fact that could cause potential arguments than if you had just let it be. I've seen plenty of people respond to feedback with abuse that they didn't know that they were talking about.

That said, there's a lot of threads that get posted that are dumb. The example I've given before is "MAKE X SKIN FOR X CHAMP" and the description is "PLS DO IT RITO I WILL GIVE YOU ALL MY MONEY!1" why do I need to comment on that to downvote it? (I can literally see 3 threads like this on the forums recently by the way) Clearly the poster hasn't put time an effort into it, so why should I be forced to say 'that sounds bad' to downvote it? See the issue? There's a lot of spam on these forums or people who spam the forums, and people up/downvoting it are their way of regulating it. Sure, a lot of stuff gets downvoted, but stuff does come through. For example this guy from yesterday. I had a lot of spare time yesterday (ah render times) and that was honestly the post that had the most effort put in, and it showed. That's not to say I spent the day sitting there downvoting everything, but I can look at a lot of them and think 'yeh that sounds stupid'

Now even more relevant is this thread. I disagree with it. There's been a big attitude recently on here about downvotes being an issue with petitions to get it removed and what not. It's little a little pixelated up and down arrow. I've no idea why people get so worried about it. So what if your idea didn't succeed on the internet.

I'm not sure this is something that's likely to happen, sadly. A solution is still possible though: I think people just need to get into the habit of commenting, and upvoting things that appear to be well-reasoned and people who are up for meaningful discussion -- even when they don't entirely like the idea or agree with the person. If we build an environment that supports effort rather than outcome, we can probably overrule the downvote fairies and get a functioning forum.

I know I personally tend to upvote any thread where there was clearly effort put in, and where the poster seems interested in having a conversation about the suggestion, even if he/she and I don't entirely agree.

There is person in this board who have 8 account only to downvote others and upvote himself. Do you thing that would really stop him?

Here is my suggestion for the upvote/Downvote system

Make it the old Forums where they have enter in the post before they cast a vote inside the post while still allowing people to see the votes for vs against outside the post.

The people who just downvote every post just going down the line.

It'd be really nice. I remember the last time I posted something, someone downvoted it immediately and nobody got to see it :(

I had a simple idea to approach the downvote-spamming problem, the boards feedback category is kind of dead so I'll link it here http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/site-feedback/0ua6KyA0-make-downvotes-invisible What do you think?

Made a post to help with a solution with this: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/skin-champion-concepts/GQoXPrsn-the-sticker-system

NOTE: It is a lengthy post, so you be stuck reading it for awhile.
