Riot is intentionally causing problems for General Discussion forums to force us to use boards

Around the time when riot employees stopped using General Discussion all together we were then surprised to see a rioter making a thread in our forums for a change. We were confused however as he wanted an answer to a question.

Paraphrase: "hey guys we're making boards you guys should try it"

Our response? "fuck off we don't want your boards, forums and General Discussion is perfectly fine and all we need." We then proceeded to massively down vote the guy to show our distaste for these boards.

time progressed, everything seemed fine. Then out of the blue riot comes from the fog of war chanting they made the boards (at the time named community beta)

Once again that same riot employee (whos name i don't remember because i blacklisted him) comes shoving Community beta in our face. What did we do in response?

""fuck off we don't want your boards, forums and General Discussion is perfectly fine and all we need." We then proceeded to massively down vote the guy to show our distaste for these boards. "

He then leaves and we continue back to doing what us GDers do.

fast forwarding to the present, after a week of "something has gone hextechingly wrong" I couldn't help but wonder

"why is riot not fixing our forums" Then it dawned on me

Riot doesn't give two fucks whether or not our forums work, why? because they want us to use this fucking boards that we don't give two shits about.

"but op you are using these boards you hate so much bla bla bla"

You are right, want to know why? I'm proving a point, i can't even use the forums without blitzcrank popping his error symbol in my face. But I can come to these putrid boards and use them without worry whenever I want.

Look, I got bad news for you. Riot isn't intentionally sabotaging your precious General Discussion. They have said that they don't want to force migration here because not everyone will like the system and that is expected. They want people who like the forums to continue with the forums and those who want to participate here to do so. If and when the forums are to be replaced, there will be an official announcement. The previous statements are fact whether you like it not and regardless of if you choose to believe it.

It is beyond ridiculous that Riot would sabotage GD when I would bet that more than 70% of GD don't even know these boards exist as an alternative in the first place. Intentionally sabotaging GD to force a migration is dumb because there are no pointers to these boards from the client, the patcher, the download page, etc.

What? You expect those people to have a surge to brilliance to suddenly check Riot's Facebook page or Twitter? These same people that don't hesitate to say "Riot fix your fking servers"? The same people that believe absolutely idiotic things like "Oh, they hate east coast / eu players because of X ... they will never listen to us blah blah blah ...". I mean, really?

You expect that Riot want that rage-prone bunch to migrate knowing full well that they would cause a shitstorm or throw tantrums like you are doing now? Bro, please. Save yourself some dignity and keep the conspiracy theories as theories. There's a saying that goes something like, "It's better to look stupid and keep quiet, than to speak and prove it.", I want to say this applies here but I digress.

If you had any real sense, you'd realize that there have been plenty of DDoS attacks causing server problems recently and not just for League. Who knows what kind of instability those have caused? Heck, the reason the damn forums might not be loading properly could be a browser issue. Hell, an addon/extension like Adblock can fucking cause issues for pages.

So come now, at least try to be sensible.

I was waiting for the conspiracy theories on the GD troubles. I have no evidence to prove you are wrong, but the evidence you have is purely speculative. The trouble with GD could also be the same issues with the game client, random DDoS'ing or any number of different problems. Or, like you say, they could be fiddling with the vBulletin forum's power switch in the guise of an "experiment". There are an innumerable amount of possibilities and little to no actual evidence, you're simply frustrated that a service you've been using is currently inaccessible, perfectly understandable.

However, I do want to point out that the Boards have had separate servers from day one for the other way around, when the Boards are down (due to Beta changes) it wouldn't interfere with the vBulletin forums.

Just fyi, these boards are pretty jacked up, sometimes, too.

The only reason people don't like it is because its different.

Telling someone who works for the company of a game you play "to fuck off" should lead to you getting banned. You shouldn't get to use their boards or GD if you can't respect.

It is odd that tracerts for the boards go to Amazon AWS and the tracerts for the forum go to Cloudflare. Amazon AWS has clearly proven more reliable, but yet they never migrated the forums over. Why not?

Furthermore, it isn't clear that the DDoS attacks continue against Riot (literally nothing else seems to be effected at the moment) or that they ever occurred against Cloudflare. So what exactly is the problem? The main page, match history pages, news, etc. also trace back to Cloudflare, yet continues to work.
