The filter will be fine, as it's not an actual profanity filter.

The profanity policy coming in will also be fine, as it takes context into account and is not automated.

The filter is not looking for profanities outside of stuff like racial slurs. It's main job is to keep spam bots from doing anything. I don't know about you, but I don't usually go around the boards spewing out racial slurs, so the automated filter won't be effecting me.

The part that does effect me, however, is the policy on profanity use. This part is not automated. It is still mainly an assumption of course, since I have not seen anything official about how profanities will be moderated in the future, however I'm thinking not a whole lot will change if you're not directly insulting another human being.

Profanity can be used to add to a post after all, if it is used with a bit of tact.

Its just like the in game filter where certain words and phrases (such as Fuck) are blocked out and replaced with something different. that is automated and so is this. there is no option to turn it off either
