Boards are becoming more and more toxic and are no accurate depiction of how good your post is

I have had it with these boards lately, everything I post is either downvoted or ignored, I managed to get 16 upvotes on a good post I had a couple of days ago and it got shitslammed by a group of angry trolls and it went back to 0. Maybe I'm targeted by some hatemongers or whatever, but I used to be able to get some reward off a post I spent an hour on creating, right now it seems like a complete waste of time and what is even more frustrating is that the day after I see an almost identical post with 200+ upvotes on the hot page. The cruelest thing is, my post is almost an essay containing 500 words when the post that reaches hot is something like "Th1s Fizz j33z can we n3rf him duhhhh". It's almost as if this community is getting more retarded by the second.

Point is that the downvotes are destroying these boards, I think it would be better to implement an upvote only system, because downvotes are nothing less than toxic.
