It basically doesn't function unless you know the exact title of a thread or are willing to put in a long string of keywords. Search has really weird priorities, and I'll show some examples:
Search: "Cassiopeia Riot Stashu" Results: No threads created by Riot Stashu with Cassiopeia in the title were pulled to the first page.
Search: "Daen" Results: No threads I created or even posted on were pulled at all.
Search: "Tamat" Results: No threads created by Tamat were pulled to the first page, only 2 of the results had posts by him.
Yeah. Search is not working like other search engines, and it completely ignores basic sorting like searching by user.

That's not surprising, it's a simple linear search of "find word and display results". The question is, when you search "athenes" are you getting the most popular/important threads related to the search term? From what I can tell, it's in no particular order. Additionally, if you use the "Has Riot Comments" option, it removes the thread "@Riot, regarding Athene's Unholy Grail in 4.10" that has Riot comments. That makes zero sense.
LOL, actually. I just searched for "Athene's" and it pulled up completely different results from "Athenes". Not only that, when I also selected "Has Riot Comments" it completely ignored the search term I had put in and just pulled random threads.
The search engine here doesn't put words together properly, which is one of the big issues. Try putting Athenes Buff into the search bar; the results are, for the most part, talking about EITHER "athenes" OR "buff", it's not putting them together correctly.
Plus, it randomly returns a blank screen with no results. Good stuff.

It literally doesn't function as a search engine in many circumstances. Successful search engines don't completely ignore search terms, that just isn't supposed to happen. Google is a far better tool for finding threads on this platform, and it's not even specifically limited to the Boards as the default functionality should be.
If adding an apostrophe completely changes the results and changing a filter setting results in the search completely ignoring the search term(s), that's not working as intended.

Dr Clueless PhD1 votesAFAIK, it works like most other search engines. It'll show you top results based on your terms. If the top results don't have all of them, they're still top. If you want something that has ALL of your terms, you need to specify that.
