Threads being deleted because they're in the wrong board is so annoying :/

Why not just move them to the right boards if they're in the wrong spot? What if we spent over an hour writing a lengthy post to go with the thread, only to have it deleted with no way to copy+paste the text into a new thread on the right board?

There is a way to copy and paste the text in a new thread. Just go to your notifications and go to the link of your deleted thread where you will be able to copy and paste it

They basically tell you that

  1. You're not in trouble, we're just notifying you that this is in the wrong section

  2. Give you a chance to copy and paste it into a new, appropriate, area

These boards have issues, but this is one thing they do pretty well to make sure areas are clean of misplaced clutter.

Alternative: Copy and paste the post in a note pad and save for till tomorrow to ensure you always have the post till you need it.

I posted a thread about mana management a couple days ago and it got removed because it was in the wrong board, though I specifically put it in the Maps & Modes section because I was speaking about ARAMs, though I never said it. I just thought if I posted it there, people would assume, it was for ARAM. I don't want to have to make a thread with an ARAM tag just to make sure people don't delete it. My content was in the right area, I just didn't include that it was specifically for ARAM.

Not a fan of the subforum sections here, as maps and modes can mean almost anything besides SR.

I agree that the way it's done right now, is pretty poor. There should be a link to your thread, and a compendium of the different guidelines. The message should let you know exactly which part of those guidelines you violated.

That being said, the reason they delete instead of move is that, long-term, they're planning on having us be able to create our own custom boards. So, for example, there might be multiple Dominion communities, each with their own board (with guidelines they've written themselves). If I post something about Dominion in a board that's supposed to be about Skins, obviously it's in the wrong board. But what dominion board does it belong in?

Update: another thread of mine was removed, and this time the link was included at the bottom of the notification. The text is the exact same than the other notification I got, but this has the link at the end.

I can live with this ^^

I posted my thread on the correct board (Report a Bug), even following the guidelines when I went back to check. My thread was still deleted without any further explanation beyond the supposed violation of "Adhere to Board Guidelines" and the reminder to place threads in the "correct board." I'm still confused as to where I didn't follow the guidelines that warranted my thread getting deleted.
