My Friend has been constantly asking me if possible people can hack his account, he has the same username ID login as his Summoners Name, can people guess? or hack his account? I have tried to search up forums of "Summoners Name same as the login ID" but unfortunately no result, a lot of people I have asked said "no hacking accounts dosent happen" "As long as your friend has a strong password hes fine" others said "yes he would get his account hacked easily" "he will get hacked its common sense" and etc... but is he still consider safe? even though for having the same username ID as his summoners name? I want as many details as possible if it can happen or not

Another thing is I have read that in the forums people has been saying they got there there account hacked, one said that he never been to harmful websites and never clicked a phisy link, Boogie2998 a famous youtuber who plays league got his account hacked also.... how can me and my friend avoid a situation like this?

please and thank you

The increase in risk is relatively miniscule, as the only people that would be able to hack an account with username alone would be able to steal your account even without the information at all. It's like asking if someone knows what brand your car is, can people break in easier. Hypothetically, yes. Realistically, it doesn't really make a difference.

Long story short, unless you go visiting sketchy sites or downloading unsecure files, you're in pretty good hands. This is because the most common way to "hack" someone is to use a program that you wrote to retrieve data from another's computer and for that to happen they would have to have reached it somehow. Be hesitant of random, vague links (links that don't clearly identify the location) and only download from trusted sources (ie. not limewire). Players who were "hacked" usually simply allowed someone an opportunity to get their personal information. There are exceptions to this, in which players have been legitimately hacked, but it's such a rare occurrence that you shouldn't worry about it.

The Boogie2998 hack is unrelated to other security risks. That was an orchestrated backdoor by PVP, and will not affect most people.

As far as your friends login/summoners name, the actual attack surface of having discrete names for both of those does reduce the attack surface a bit, but your friends actual credentials are fairly safe.

Your friends security is going to be most likely triggered by user error, or a database leak from an orchestrated hack. Both of those are not really defensable (minus learning where to put credentials and when to), and he can rest easy knowing that his league information is safe.

TL;DR: your friend has nothing to worry about, and any hack that does go for him would probably be from Phishing or a 3rd party software, both of which don't care about the difference in his summopner name + login info
