I thought this from the first moment, but for some time I was too lazy to talk about it. But it's really so weird that people can vote on their own posts.
And even weirder is, that you're automatically voting +1. Hell, I'm not always so satisfied with whatever I've written - and I prefer others to judge.
So guys please. Disable all self-votes. It makes me to remember this picture every time:
I actually prefer as it is currently, as it means if a random troll goes around downvoting every post he sees without reading it just goes down to 0 instead of -1. The subtle difference between 0 and -1 is fairly large for someone just browsing without thinking too much about it, which is what I assume a lot of people do if they're just skimming.
Out of curiosity, what difference does it make? Doesn't this just mean that it adjusts the base level, meaning that neutral is 1 as opposed to neutral being 0? Hardly seems like it matters.
A wise man on youtube once responded to someone complaining about him upvoting his own posts with,
"Why wouldn't I? I agree with every thing i say."
