How can we make boards work? Talk to us developers, this is Beta!
So Pendragon has posted this year ago (emphasis mine):
We've made dozens of improvements to this platform based on player-feedback and it would be a hard argument to make that we're not responsive to criticisms. We only have a couple of guys working on this, and even if we end up not moving everything to this platform - the technology has been leveraged in lots of other parts of LoL that you may not even notice for your benefit.
I'll ask you to suspend the pitchfork train for a minute and consider providing feedback through the lens of, "how can we make it work" instead of "how can we shut it down".
I've been posting lots of feedback here. Big part of my feedback was technical, since I am - I'll dare to say this - an advanced programmer regarding, among other things, websites. That means I was able to intercept many site issues (though most of my reports target rather apparent things).
I would lie if I said that nothing was ever fixed, but the fixed things were apparent and critical - therefore they'd be fixed even without me. But as of other things, these few problems mourn me:
- **No feedback on our feedback. ** I spend a time running through the code and inspecting with Firebug and I report a problem including some technical background. Normal users do not understand which means I get no votes/comments and feel alone. The fact that people for whom these reports were written do not even write a short reply is even more frustrating. Contrary to the big words about how they want this community to grow, the don't seem to care. From the game, you should know that teamwork is most important. Or are you one of those who stay solo top whole game?
- No discussion about features. There were changes users were against or changes requested to be made. Neither was discussed here, on board feedback. By discussing, I mean a dialogue between those who make the changes and users. Again, it seems like they are building their pet project community and don't even realize this community has some users.
- Clouded information from reds. This is, from my experience, rather a global problems where red posts do not ever address things specifically. This matters with boards, where they basically seem to make up most information we get about the boards. Sometimes I feel like these posts are just posted to give our threads Riot icon and make it look the problem was solved. Any other user could do the same, had he the red icon.
- I never get to know if this or that was already fixed. So I have to test it. So I don't know if that report was read.
Specifically the fact that people responsible for these boards refuse to discuss practically anything is quite annoying. This specially applies for cases where requests contradict their own decisions. Regardless of votes and comments, nothing changes and nothing is discussed.
So Pendragon and others, you are shutting down us, who are trying to make this boards work.
