Yeah, these are nice. Maybe one of the only people who prefers it to the old forums. Only thing we need, which the forums honestly needed, is a private messaging system. I don't recall any online game community for a specific game created by the developers that lacked this feature. Would be nice to get to know some of the posters here on a more personal level and have ways of scheduling playtime with them other than derailing topics.
I think more appropriately, would be to have a more in-depth profile system, such as; 1) You can verify (or hide) some/all your accounts so people can see your stats on your main/smurf accts. without going to a third-party site or searching for you in the client. 2) Have a wall where people can post, and you can also provide extra details about yourself or your account (Hi I'm Ricky Bobby, I main jg Rammus and Hecarim cuz I like to go fast, and I play Fri-Sun afternoon PST). 3) Incorporate your support tickets, comments/replies/threads you started into one place.
I'm sure there are additional common functions profile pages for other sites often have, but this covers most of what I'd care about.
I was thinking about a wall option since there are some forum sites that I frequent that use this option, and it's nice. I could go for either that or a PM system, but I prefer the latter to the former just because I personally enjoy having in-depth conversations with people without flooding my profile. Perhaps both could be implemented at different times.
