Evaluation of the community beta as a whole (and a couple of suggestions as well).
A while ago, I had posted a message basically just saying that everything in the community beta was great and asking a simple question (which I shortly found the answer to).
In an effort to help the community beta a little better, I'd like to offer a more comprehensive approach to how I feel about the new community overall.
In summary: I think that the new community layout is a major step up from the old forum layout. While staying out of the techno mumbo-jumbo of which kind of forum posting you're using, or how posts are bumped and whatnot (regrettably I'm not entirely too tech savvy about this sort of thing), I'm able to find content on the forums that I'm consistently interested in relatively easily, and can better offer my suggestions to a person that will listen.
Furthermore, the ability to check responses to your previous posts is a very good idea, and I find myself frequently checking that to keep a good conversation going.
However, there are a couple of things that I might like to see added to the functionality of the community beta. For example, one thing that I would like to see is the ability to privately message other players.
I realize that you have a lot of players, and that this would add a lot of strain as you would have to spend extra space for storing the messages. However, my argument for adding private messages is because there are people in the community that I would like to collaborate with. Perhaps collaborate over advice in game, or create something artistic. I would love to be able to message somebody on a project that involves lore. At the same time, I'm not someone that likes to freely give out their email, and I mostly keep my email address checking for work related events only.
Next: I would love to see some more sub-communities. Right now, what you guys have is pretty comprehensive. But I think that perhaps you might add some new sub-forums for adding content. For example, a community that deals with talking about ranked games, or perhaps a community that deals with lower level players getting advice from higher level players. I realize that the topics you have now are comprehensive enough that you could theoretically do all of this in the already existing sub-communities, however that adds clutter, and eventually it will become very difficult to find content that you're really interested in in one forum in particular.
Overall, that's everything that I have so far on the new community beta. Of course, having a rioter respond to more posts on other forums feels AMAZING but I totally understand that you all are busy working to build a better gaming experience for us, and don't have infinite time to do whatever. Either way, thank you for reading this and I hope this helps out!
