Private Messaging

Sometimes when in a thread, you find yourself discussing subjects that are not relevant to the topic or the comments section broke on you and it's becoming difficult to continue the conversation that no one else is in on anyways.

We get private chat rooms in the client, but it can be an inconvenience to have to find each other like that every time you want a private discussion, and sharing emails is a more personal method of communication that I'm sure few actually practice...

So how about a private messaging system?

Obviously, the report system absolutely must be available, maybe even have a priority system for it because dealing with a person's behavior by yourself is more difficult than in a thread viewed by multiple people capable of reporting.

Yes please, I find this even more annoying since the boards are now cross-region, and in the client you can't exactly add someone who's on a different server...

I'd personally prefer more integration with the client. For example, the following:

  • You can now add people in-client via boards.
  • Being online in Boards is the same as being logged in to the client, from a chat perspective. So if I'm on Boards, and you're in the client, we can chat (think gmail/facebook chat tabs at the bottom of a page with other content).
    • Also works with 2 users who are on Boards.

Reporting spammers is something I'd like (lolacademy, ugh), but I don't think there really needs to be a comprehensive reporting system, as long as, like the client, people can't chat me without adding me first.
