Naming and shaming is apparently allowed on the boards now

Is this no longer a rule? I could have sworn it was, but perhaps everyone including rioters is allowed to break that rule when it comes to a certain famous streamer.

Naming and shaming is against the universal forum rules. It disgusts me that the mods are not closing the threads, rioter and player alike, that are clearly negatively calling out other players.

Naming and shaming isn't allowed for normal players since information from them is primarily hearsay and they don't have the information to truly support it. This can lead to witch-hunts due to false accusations and unreliable information.

Riot making official announcements or correcting false declarations when they have full access to all available information and reasoning is a different matter.

This. Riot only makes official announcements in extreme cases where they feel they player-base needs to know what is going on and why.

Outside that, if a player comes here and asks for a review of a ban, they're giving consent to Riot/Moderation to review their account and give them a straight answer on what's going on, even if that means outing their dirty laundry. I believe some still refer to it as "being smited" and sadly sometimes it's the only way some people come to realize and accept what's going on.

There is a difference between the average gamer and a person who actively seeks public attention intentionally (i.e. streamers, youtubers, pro gamer etc.)
