If im premade 5 with my friends I say whatever the fuck I want m8. It's not like anyone else hears it. Saying "fuck you" to a stranger is rude, sure. But saying fuck you to a friend doesn't really matter as long as everyone knows its a joke. If I never say it to people who aren't my friends, why does it matter?

I think it's unacceptable, because to me it triavlises the words which leads to them being used more often, etc. But within the context of your friends and only friends, if theres another person in the chat though (4 man queue) and you use a racial/homophobic slur , I strongly advise against using it even if its not directed at the stranger. (As words are offensive to the whole group , even if you only direct it at one person)

Harassment can do anything, but the use of a single word isn't significant. And in League, THEY ARE USED AS GENERIC INSULTS. And that's why they're banned: you can't use them as insults because that means that being black or homosexual is bad according to you, and that's the thing to delete. But insults are a detail. If it was just because they're insults, they wouldn't have a priority over any other "moron" or "noob".

Have you called your gay friend a f@##ot before? Have you been around when someone else called him a f@##ot? He may tolerate it from you because you're his ignorant friend, but I guarantee that anyone else who calls him a f@##ot will push him into a fury. That word was used to detrimentally put down gay people and it's use is derogatory in every way. You see, the whole "this derogatory homophobic word has a different contextual meaning" doesn't fly at all. Regardless of how the word is used, it still carries intense negativity with it. The whole purpose of its use in insults is exactly what I stated above - there is no other reason to call someone a f@##ot and not have it degrade gay people. When you call someone that, you are comparing them to gay people in the most negative way possible. It doesn't matter if your drunk friend uses it to call his bros to get him another beer, it doesn't matter if some 12yo is using it to insult people in Call of Duty - it has the exact same meaning no matter how it's used. Your argument about "weed" isn't even in the same ballpark as this. "Weed" is slang and means marijuana, just like it means dandelions and such. So far, it doesn't degrade or carry any inherently negative connotations. F@##ot was intitally a British term for a bundle of sticks, but its use to put down gays has made the word nasty and taboo. No one ever uses it for its original purpose anymore, and the context it has now is inherently negative and has made the word be used for nothing else but hate. There is no comparison between thr context of "weed" vs "f@##ot" because one is used as a derogatory moniker for a group of people to make them inferior, and the other is used so people don't have to say "marijauana."

It is MORE forbidden than normal hatred because it means calling people you want to insult black and homosexual instead of actual bad things, which means you're considering those to be insults. And as long as they're considered insults, the discrimination goes on.

Well unless I'm not getting a notification after reporting these people, they are not getting banned. "Can" and "Will" are too separate terms. With the amount I see those slurs used, I sincerely doubt that first offense users get banned very often. I imagine it takes repeated use along with multiple reports for anything to actually be done. If you can show statistics proving otherwise, please do so.

If you ignore and do not respond to those who use words like the OP mentioned, then in the end, they are calling THEMSELVES those words. While it may be hurtful to HEAR, or SEE, you can remove the power from the words TOWARDS yourself and give it back to them. The old "I'm Rubber you're glue", that you all heard in elementary school was taught to you for a reason. That reason, is because it really does have power. It is the power of your own mind.
I fully agree, the words the OP mentioned are hurtful and people should not use them, and you are welcome to report them after the match. But getting your feelings hurt and acting like YOU are a victim because someone used those WORDS, on the safety of the internet, is in itself, just as childish and JUST AS WRONG. And I myself am a gay man, whose two closest friends are gay black men. And neither one of them EVER gets offended when those two words the OP mentioned are used.

They know this. If they dont know this, it is their own fault for clicking "I agree" and yet having no idea what is that they agreed to.

Riot only bans in favor of those they care about. Riot and its system do not care about the average player or gay people like myself.
