People shouldn't be allowed to have a "bad day" without getting a punishment. Or at least a warning.

Because this is basically what happens:

Let's say I pick a non-meta champion, like Evelynn mid. A teammate that is normally not toxic starts harassing me for the entire game, and/or possibly even rage quits. Let's call them Bob. But Bob doesn't use any racial slurs or anything that would trigger a punishment quickly (within 1-2 games).

So I report Bob. Bob doesn't have a history of being toxic, so Bob doesn't get punished. Bob doesn't see another Eve mid for 100+ games, so he's only toxic in less than 1% of his games. My report weight goes down because Bob doesn't get punished, making my reports more meaningless.

And then in my next game I get assigned "mid" and pick Eve again, and this time I meet "Jill," who is exactly the same as Bob, and the cycle continues.

Riot says "toxic players turn people toxic and see more toxic players in their games" but... There are also not-toxic things that can turn people toxic. Picking Eve mid is not against the rules. But it makes a LOT of players harass me for it. And none of them are ever punished, because they are not normally toxic. And in those games where my team DOESN'T tilt and harass me? I actually do good. The pick is fine. But in most of my games I'm basically getting the same gameplay experience as one of those toxic assholes who turns his entire team against him by being an asshole in chat. Except I'm not an asshole in chat, and I'm not breaking any rules, so I'm never going to be punished and removed from the game. But then, neither are any of my toxic teammates, because they're "just having a bad day" and don't "normally" act that way.

At the very least, the system should be able to detect things that bring out toxicity which are not against the rules (eg: non-meta summoner spells, builds, or champions) and then punish people severely for harassing these people, since it's going to happen to them almost every game otherwise, and as such they're going to have a skewed view of the community (they will think this community is way more toxic than it actually is, and probably quit because of it).

</rant>

(Getting sick of people harassing me and even sometimes RAGE QUITTING and getting away with it with no punishment)

im sorry your trolling is not getting people banned as you hoped it would. maybe try a different technique

You have like 2 games in your last 40 where you don't have the most deaths on your team. Hopefully Riot bans your trolling so that you don't make normally non-toxic players toxic.

I support off-meta. However, I also accept that it will piss people off, so I'm prepared to deal with that, report them and move on. I get it tons when I'm playing Yorick support. What I don't do, is come to the forums and whine and complain about it, because, even if I don't think it was fair, my own actions contributed to that situation. No it isn't fair, life isn't fair. Suck it up, accept the consequences of your actions and keep playing however you want to have fun. Don't try to make yourself out to be some kind of victim/martyr like a SJW would.

If people are actually toxic every time they see a non-meta pick like yours, they will get punished.

After reading this thread, I believe that I have lost a few IQ points from pretty much reading your side of things here.

  1. Your main point is that you would like the system to look over some of the players that get toxic over things that "aren't against the rules." I'm sorry, but in your describing of this, you are pretty much saying that something needs to be done just because you got your feelings hurt. People have a "bad day" all the time, hell, even you possibly do. Though why punish someone just because they tilted once? Have you ever stopped to think that they are tilted not just because of your off-meta pick but because of you are doing horrible with that off-meta pick? Have you ever stopped to realize that people are maybe harassing you because they've had off-meta picks like yours in the past and had a bad time with them? The post you gave sounds abit selfish in saying "hey, this guy or this guy needs to be punished because they hurt my feelings." Most people who play ranked play it to get higher tier, and they don't want to be hindered by picks that usually don't work.

2)We get it, you're a one trick pony, but for god sake man, it's not THAT hard to train in another champ and use it to your advantage after you've practiced with it. I main Leona. I play here ALOT. HOWEVER, I'm not afraid to go into something else like Braum, or Soraka, or even an adc pick l iike Trist or Ashe just because they are a different style from my usual support tank pick. That's why normals and bots are there man, to learn champs so you can use them later in ranked. If you can play a champ that and use it to at least break Gold tier status, then keep at it for pete's sake. It takes a while to get used to ANY champ in this game.

  1. I'm really surprised that you even got to Plat with your kind of mentality. That mentality you have of being a "one-trick pony" and "wanting to punish others because they had ONE bad day" is that of a Bronze player. Hell, I'm a Silver player going up the ladder myself to get to where you are, but there is no way I would have the mentality that you do. It's no wonder why people in this thread think you're just trolling. I've read this thread enough to see how serious you are about the issue, and in my opinion, with this mentality you have, I'm NOT gonna be surprised if you lose that rank. Break lose of your chains, man, because you're just gonna keep on sinking lower and lower if you don't get more variety and start realizing what you're saying.

what i read is, and no offense: i dunno how to mute someone at first sign of harassment and get tilted because of it (somehow you managed to get to plat without learning this important bronze lesson) I've been there, i was trying to get S's with random champs for support like jax etc and not only people (mainly the adc) would talk trash in champ select, they would continue on to talk shit in the game and on occasion, actually feed! even when I was actually doing a great job and handing them kills, they were still not convinced so at times I had to leave them and be more helpful elsewhere and it worked. I went on doing this and we got wins, even in 4v6s, and I got my S's for the initial goal, and proving them wrong was just something extra.

If they're tilted til the point they do something punishable, then you report. Either way, mute, focus on your game and just practice w\e you want. Hopefully in normals.... ...reads some comments... Oh wait, this is ranked?! Then yea, accept the consequences UNTIL you learn a new mid OR become the first best Eve mid NA and everyone knows your name. Whichever comes first.

One tricking is not trolling people like jfc there are people in diamond that mostly used 1 champion

Kei14310/4/2016, 10:23:07 AM1 votes

isn't the anti-meta mindset especially strong at higher ELOs?

pls confirm or deny.

Not sure what your problem is here. Riot does ban for both harassment and rage quitting.

Congratulations, your wish has come true, play eve mid to your hearts content.
