Toxic people in normal games- what makes you tick?

I've been playing a lot of normal games lately. I've also been encountering A LOT of toxic players lately. They flame for no good reason, and continuously flame the entire game. They're players who are generally rated around silver-low gold max, and often make an insane number of mistakes, yet they spend the entire game flaming and typing about 1 or 2 mistakes they saw a teammate make.

So I can at least somewhat understand toxicity in ranked games. There's a lp and rank on the line, it makes sense to naturally get invested in the game. However, in normal games? How can you get so upset over an inconsequential game that you harass your teammates instead of actually playing the game? Is it just impossible for people to look at themselves and see their own mistakes?
