Thanks for the chat restriction riot

I'm being serious. For some reason this chat restriction helped my mentality about league.

The ranked grind was getting to me. The teammates berating me for tiny mistakes that they themselves were making was getting to me(as well as a couple of other factors during the few days I REALLY tilted this month). The selfish players were getting to me. The "op champions" were getting to me. It was like I was in a tilt, except the difference is that I was tilted even though I took a break from the game. Any meta champion who beat me was suddenly the worst thing since Hitler in my mind. Any toxic teammate was a reason to type 4 essays as to why they are a hypocrite for being toxic(the irony, I know.)

I'm really sorry to those who were affected by my behaviour. I'm going to make it my priority to start being nicer to teammates, mostly those who may not be the nicest, because they still deserve better than i've been giving them.

I think there is truth to this. During a lengthy chat ban - I wont say how long, I did manage to climb 3 ranks quite quickly and less "angrily". I suppose its reducing the amount of time typing and just concentrating on the game and not causing others to tilt, even if you are only responding to their own flame or toxicity.

It is sometime just sooooooo hard not to flame back. Especiallly the spam ping thing!

I once tried playing with some random dude on my friends list, he was a Kayn main. He was pretty good at him. Though, he was really toxic. He wanted M7 (but wtf is the point of needing a mastery so badly) so much that he raged after the game. Kicking and screaming in chat all because he got S- and another dude who was with us (his friend), justified his toxicity... like I don't care how long you've known each other he IS too toxic.

Thats a shame. You shouldn't let Riot dictate how you behave. Just be yourself.

I don't know what you said before, but from my point of view the system they have in place right now might be worst then just letting people be toxic without repercussions.

You can't point out a mistake or ask why someone did something. This counts as flaming even if it is a genuine question of motive or play and riot sees this as insulting or humiliation by flaming when its not.

Since you can't improve your team's play and you can't point out their mistakes at all you might as well mute all... This means you don't count on anyone and riot even suggest that you should, " focus on your gameplay". Might as well remove the multiplayer aspect of the game because you don't actually have a team.

God forbid you want to Forfeit a lost cause at 15 mins because you can't help each lane or roam for each lane. So now you have a few options and none of them are good. You could continue to play the lost cause and hard carry for people who don't deserve the win, You can pretend to play and let your team lose every fight so that you hopefully lose around 25 mins in, or you can just leave and get penalized for it.

I think this community is in a bad place when those are the options you take and no matter how non toxic a person might be in their asking of why someone does something stupid or when someone questions their build they get reported for being toxic. It's like the terms don't mean anything other then, " you are questioning me therefore I am hurt and offended".

The only thing you can do is que when specific age groups are not online. That and do duo because anything less would leave you in bad games of coin toss more often the not.

Most of the time I would mute the enemy teams just so I can focus and ignore what they say. Other times I would mute toxic team mates that would just be on me. So far it helps me get to honor level 5 and no restrictions so far.
