Off-meta picks

The best defense for an off meta pick is that doing things that are off-meta is the only way to change the meta. And that's 100% true, given the right condition:

The only way to change the meta is for diamond, challenger, and master tier players to do things that are off meta. Those players can tell from the patch notes alone what effect a change will have on the viability of a champion or class and/or its counters, before even testing it out.

It is not the unranked, bronze, silver, gold, or even platinum players who redefine the meta game. And especially not in Normal mode.

If you somehow get it in your head that a pick not designed for a role or a build not designed for the champion is going to do well and be a fun experience, then please feel free not to be an asshole to other players. Make sure you have a 5 man premade who is perfectly willing to put up with your blatant lack of effort and decency so that random matchmade allies don't have to have their ability to play the game ruined by your choices. Just because you top laner isn't fighting the enemy bot laner at the beginning of the game doesn't make it okay for you to have given them 10 kills due to your poor pick and subsequently ruin your top laner's chance of having an impact on the outcome of the game.

Granted, of course, that any player who can't tell they themselves aren't challenger and doesn't know which champions go in what roles may just feed the enemy those kills from being bad. But that doesn't excuse the poor pick which disallows them from turning things around.

If it's in normals and you're trying something new and off-meta because you genuinely think it could work then it's fine, I think. If you've done in it normals a ton and consistently do very well then feel free to bring it into ranked.

there's nothing wrong with players trying creative and new builds, even if they know they aren't the most effective tactic available, as long as they are still trying to win.

Especially in normals. If someone is going rageblade bard top lane in normals and you have a problem with that, tbh I think you just need to untighten your butthole a little bit.
